The only other layperson I’ve ever seen use the words “neurodiverse” and “neurotypical” is a woman I know who has adopted several children, and all of them have disabilities. She also works in advocacy for people with disabilities. I agree that Elle wouldn’t know these terms unless they came directly from a professional.

Whatever, it’s Cohen’s privacy, and she’s right not to share this information with us if he has received a diagnosis. Just bugs me that she’s using these terms to appear so woke to her audience and get likes.

I keep modifying my post to try to avoid a crazy long rant. Hard to do.

I agree Elle should not conflate issues.

The Stauffers made their life public, so open to judgement. Could never watch them because of Myka’s gratingly whiny voice. Re: ‘rehoming’ an adopted child to a new ‘forever home’ — terms I thought reserved for animal adoption— deplorable. Perhaps they should not have brought another child (they recently had a baby) into the home if they were struggling. They were willingly entrusted with a child’s care and they failed him (and their other kids who lost a sibling). Have they ever considered that life is unpredictable and that their other kids could suffer trauma or illness that severely impacts the body/brain? Will they just ‘rehome’ them? Ugh. So many kids in the care of adults ill equipped for the responsibility .

Did she ever say she went to university for teaching? Back in the day (i’ve been watching since before forde was born) she said she worked at a daycare. I wouldn’t be surprised if that evolved over time into “used to be a Teacher”

She went to teacher’s college for sure and I think taught for only 1-2 years before she had Forde and never went back.

Not sure if she was a full-time teacher with a regular classroom or if she was a supply teacher or EA or what. I don’t recall anything about a daycare though.

I did some research with her maiden name years ago (Braley) and found a school that had her listed as a math teacher (outdated of course) can’t find it now and I’m starting to doubt my own memory tbh

She is (was) a licensed teacher for Primary and Junior divisions in Ontario. She got her license August 22nd 2011 but it was suspended for non-payment as of May 1st 2013 (because she locked down that sugar daddy vet). Its public knowledge online. She probably taught the 2011/2012 school year but most likely not 2012/2013 as that's when she would have been planning her wedding and designing her dream home and whatnot. She could have also been supply teaching during this year. The way the school system works in Canada I highly doubt she ever got past supply teaching. It usually takes at least 3 to 5 years of supplying before you even get close to a permanent full time position in my experience.

I find it shocking that she would let her license lapse. If you dedicated the time and the money to the education, why wouldn’t you pay to retain it? I don’t use my degree, but you’re darn rights I pay the engineering college in my province to maintain my status. You can’t put it on a resume if it isn’t current!

Also, I am absolutely horrified, yet not at all surprised, that Elle muted herself, yet hasn’t shared anything from any activists or POC. I’m deeply disappointed. She is the definition of white privilege. Using this movement to fuel her lazy posting schedule. She’s gross.

It's different state-to-state and I'm sure province-to-province, but in my state you have to be actively teaching and taking continued education classes to retain a teaching certificate. I let mine lapse because I wasn't teaching anymore. There's no way to keep it active without teaching.

And yes, muting herself was completely pointless if she wasn't amplifying POC voices, which was supposed to be the entire point of Blackout Tuesday. I'm sure Elle can't even come up with five black artists or businesses to support as she lives in a bubble.

Ha. I noticed that too. I'd like to see her share some causes to donate to. We can't just keep learning and getting educated without actually doing something. We'll see if she takes up this suggestion.

Oh I forgot to share here that when she posted that muted post it was very late around 2am. I think she was totally intending to post her video on Tuesday but learned last minute about this muted movement ( I think it's different from the blackouttuesday one). Maybe that's why she doesn't have any resources and causes to share.

The way she gains 1k, loses 1k, gains 1k, loses 1k tells me that she's buying subscribers. You see this a lot with people like the Gardner Quad Squad where they have all but confessed to buying them. So much for her influencer business. I can see it now...

Step 1: Grow your platform by copying whatever the popular trend of the moment is. Start making Tiktoks even when you said it was stupid, google things then plaigerize word for word, ect.
Step 2: When that doesn't work spend some money and buy some subscribers to give yourself a boost. Look good, feel good. #selflove #idoitforme #momsofinstagram #torontoinfluencer

Just caught up, I’m living in the US outside of Los Angeles and it’s been wild with the protests.

I just LOVE how elle hopped on the band wagon of BLM so that she can be a lazy fuck who doesn’t have to make content. Instead of learning and growing right now, she’s probably filming a ton of videos to catch herself up. She is DROWNING. Her whole brand is just a failure.

Maybe petty but DAMN her spelling has been bad lately. It just shows she’s too lazy to double check!

I don't even know where to start with this one so I'm just going to let it be. She says she's not posting anything this week for inequality but she managed to post a TikTok of Ellie on blackout Tuesday. Perhaps this week is a big week (finalizing a divorce? Dan moving the rest of his stuff out?) and she's just glad she can use black lives matter to take a week off to deal with other stuff? If that's the case just say so. Using an important social issue where people are LITERALLY DYING to give yourself a week off is the definition of white privilege and you should feel disgusting Elle.

This movement is bad for Elle.

Everywhere, people are calling toxic people OUT. And she is TOXIC. And what’s she going to do? Delete comments from BIPOC who point out her privilege? Or her performative allyship? Or her ability to turn the whole thing into something about HER?

She can’t just delete their comments without seeming like a full on racist who wants to silence minorities.

This movement is BAD BAD BAD for her. And I’m here for it

Yeah I really doubt Elle is taking one whole week to "understand" how to be an ally. I bet she had no other videos prepared other than the last minute interview with a black subscribers that called her out.

All her YouTube friends like Thisgatherednest, Do It On a Dime, Clean my Space and Alexandra Gater may have been muted on Instagram but they all posted on YouTube this week. Elle complains why she isn't growing on YouTube but time and time again she has shown how flaky she is.

She can't still be sick. When I had step throat twice, as soon as I was on antibiotics I bounced back in a day. Either she's doing the laundry room (which I doubt) or something is going on with her separation that she can't bring herself to make videos (which I can understand).

Or or or she just want to be the wokest of them all so she's sticking to be muted on YouTube so she can rub it in everyone's faces next week. Plus she has that interview that she's posting and that will make her an A+ ally in everyone eyes.

Honestly, I CANNOT even begin to fathom why on earth she would want to do this video. It really highlights how out of touch with herself she is.

She must know that this video, cannot in any way, be edited. It will come off terribly if it is. She’s just not the right person to be doing this video, she’s used the entire movement to benefit herself, this video is going to make her burst into flames.

Mark my words, she will post this video to appear so woke, so relatable, and to “make a difference”. But it will come down just as quickly as the marriage videos and all of the other videos she’s ever posted that show her true colours. Honestly, I would be surprised if the video even gets posted.
