Well she’s now OBSESSED with Cassie’s chest. She took photos AND videos of it before surgery. Why?????? One (if any) photo would have been more than enough. Actually who cares what it looked like before??? I’m sorry it seems sick to need to photograph a baby’s chest.

I hate to give her even an ounce of credit, but I sorrrrta understand what she's talking about. I have one last photo of my son playing in the pool before his heart surgery. Every time I see it, it strikes me that there was a time where he didn't have a big scar down the middle of his chest. Granted, I wasn't taking pictures for the sole purpose of obsessing over what he looked like pre-surgery, and I wouldn't even say I'm grateful to have that documentation. His scar is a part of him now and I scarcely pay attention to it. But we also pretty much never talk about his surgery or CHD.
Phil and Alex, on the other hand, will beat that horse to death and bring up Cassie's surgery at every given opportunity. Which could be very difficult for her as she gets older and may feel self-conscious about her scar and the fact that she can't wear certain shirts, dresses, or swimsuits without it being visible.

I truly hate to say this or sound mean, but I think God made it hard for them to have kids for a reason. I feel so bad for those kids. All Kingsley wants is a cookie. Alex cries in every video because everything is about her. If she isn’t producing enough breast milk she should give the baby formula and stop being so damn prideful. The kids come first now, Alex.

Oh look, another person has joined the forum just to let everyone know that people who have medical conditions are being punished by god.

One in six women suffer from infertility. It's a medical condition. I hope you realise that to some of us, your belief is as appalling as saying that every 5 year old with cancer deserves it somehow, or that god is sending their family a message.

First of all, I have a condition...I have 3 conditions. I’m happy she had a baby and I’m sorry it was hard for her, but let’s keep it real, she is annoying at times. If she can’t produce the milk, it’s okay to get some from donation or to use formula. She has a control issue and it is hard to watch. It is okay to get help for it as well.

God, I can't believe I'm defending Alex... But she CAN produce milk. Babies with heart conditions burn through a lot of calories because their heart is beating so fast and their breathing is fast. Thus why Cass sweated a lot. In this case Alex was/is producing, BUT it would be like giving a baby skim milk when it needs whole milk.

She's just obsessed with her milk. And was supposed to be fortifying it with formula, to add extra calories.

The same tube that would give her adequate nutrition in a shorter time frame than a smaller one as well but alex knows best.


My cousins wee boy has an ng tube, they have experimented with different types of tubes over the years and by using a thicker ng tube it cuts about 30 minutes out of just over an hours feeding time. So why wouldn’t you cut the time in half??

but then alex is a martyr and the need to have cassidy fed over a longer period of time so that she in turn can be “lazy” and delay real life.

Oh you'd better believe they will monetize "Cassidy Drew, prophesied miracle of the NICU who will heal the world with her broken heart" every chance they get. it makes me sad because she's going to want to be a normal kid just like everyone else, and her parents are going to insist on making this part of her identity even though she will literally have no memories of it.

They upped her tube size a few weeks ago at home, Alex mentioned it at one point and you could see a change in the tube color, purple to yellow. This wasn’t a new hospital change. She’s grown a bit since using the smaller tube, it’s logical to have moved up to the bigger tube with the growth. It’s not some giant conspiracy.

And when using a pump, tube size doesn’t matter for the feeding rate. Feeds will go in at whatever rate you set it to run (up to a max dose). If she was doing the bonus feeds (where she holds the syringe), which she mentioned she stopped, it mighttt matter a bit. But ultimately, the tube size literally does not matter when being used with a set rate pump.

In the new video as Alex is showing off Cassidy’s “perfect” chest, she pulls down the onesie and says “we’re not supposed to wear plunging necklines”

And
1) She’s a baby. Modesty standards for an actual BABY?
And
2) I sometimes forget how controlled this girls’ lives will be forever. Alex follows the Duggars on Instagram and interacts with their posts. There’s no way these girls will get to wear what they want as teens or young adults.

I watch a couple of youtubers who post regularly about a month- six weeks behind however they post on IG delayed as well. This is for their safety. They are sailing around the world with their toddler. My point is, they do it well. No hints on IG about where they are or what’s coming up. Alex could never do this, she likes instant gratification and the arsepats that come with it.

They are sailing around the world with their toddler. My point is, they do it well. No hints on IG about where they are or what’s coming up. Alex could never do this, she likes instant gratification and the arsepats that come with it.

I had to search for their last video because I don't follow them. Literally 6 of the first 10 results had thumbnails of Alex ugly crying.
Maybe it's time to stop titling videos as "Emotional." Emotional pre-op. Emotional pregnancy test results. Emotional labor.
Literally everything with Alex is some form of emotional breakdown.

I find it interesting that all the bf struggles sh e went through, never once she thought about putting Cassidy on her breast, after surgery for comfort. not to eat but to soothe?! Just me? When babies are upset (teething etc) breastfeeding can be used for simple soothing. I guess that would come under nurturing care, so not really Alex’s forte?!

I wondered this. I also wonder how much of the oral aversion is due to the cheek/lip/tongue tie procedure. Normally babies go straight back to bottles/breast so it’s reward for the soreness. But she wasn’t feeding so why do it?
