thats true. as a mother you will always make mistakes without any bad intentions - my mom always loved me unconditonally but damn did she screw me up, I needed 100 therapy sessions to realize she is only human. she was extremely young (25, so obviously not a teen mom) and super overwhelmed. the difference is that yt moms put these things out there for us to watch..and being judgemental is a part of human nature, so thats what we do here.

i really like sarah from ourtribeofmany, I think she does an incredible job raising her 10 children. couldn't find anything negative about her. but she is the only one coming to my mind right now.

That’s interesting 🙂 I think it’s Judy’s life is doing an amazing job with her 4 girls.

I think, so my opinion is, that Kyra is quite “disconnected” from her children not one more then the other just all equally.

However the kids are fine. They seem happy enough. I don’t know I maybe to old for this forum. I just figure these days that as long as the kids are happy and healthy that’s the main thing.

So what if Alaya is sleeping in the basement? Make your kids as independent as you can whenever you can. It’s a hard world out there especially for teenagers atm. Times are changing ..... again

But they're not necessarily healthy. Levi has black teeth. I'm betting the girls do too. They live on lunchables, uncrustables and sugar. The kids have way too much screen time, and Levi hits his sisters and never gets any consequences for it. Boys will be boys, you know. Alaya had lice so bad that her entire head was infested. Now, my daughter had lice too. It happens. But they didn't notice, and then exploited it for views. The kids don't seem to be getting regular checkups, and Levi has yet to be allergy tested for his "mysterious rash". When one of them is injured, Kyra asks Twitter rather than taking them to a doctor. Alaya and Levi just got pulled from a school where they said they were making friends. They don't even seem to supervise bathing for these kids. Yeah, you want them to be independent, but a 5 and 4 year old can't bathe their little sister.
Yeah, the bottom line is that if the kids are happy and healthy, it's NBD. But the bar for both is set pretty low with these folks.

When Levi was the same age or even a few months older they said they didn't want him down there because of coming up the stairs (as in them being steep or it being dark).

The video of them explaining Alaya going down there was that they asked the kids and Levi didn't want to be down there but Alaya did because it was Kyla's old room so that's why she was excited about it. Almost like they used her loving Kyla against her.
I wonder if she even completely understood that Kyla wouldn't be staying down there with her.

As stupid as they are with showing their house on the vlog and then that huge window in alayas room. Any obsessed "fan" (or even anyone) could break in and snatch her and even if there is a camera down there it will be dark and too late by the time they see it the next morning. Sometimes they act like that's what they want

And then they took her to target to look at Halloween costumes and spread lice to everyone else

So agree. Let's not forget all the physical injuries they've had because their parents weren't watching them, or straight up caused them like oscar with his drone. That's not healthy to me. Or their mental health. Moving them from Utah, to california, where they were with family more often than not, and in school, then taking them away and back to utah. Those kind of changes are hard on fully grown adults, let alone young children. Add in the fact that their parents insist on popping out new babies every year or so, and given that they don't use protection, there definitely will be another one. They might be healthy in the sense that they're not bedridden or hospitalized, but I certainly wouldn't consider them healthy overall.

I get what that other poster was saying about all parents have flaws and how judging them can be harsh, but oscar and kyra are seriously neglectful. We're not talking a difference in parenting styles here. There's a ton of shit they do that I don't agree with that I don't rag on them for because it's just different parenting styles. But there's also a ton of shit that is just wrong that I do judge them for.

Wow that hurt my head 🙄

Ummm the drama of it all hey? They sound like horrible parents! However I watch them sometimes and that just doesn’t make sense. Maybe you should call CPS and tell them everything you just said.

Mod Note: Talk of calling CPS is against the rules.

I’m just catching up on this thread, but I love Olivia Zapo! She’s a great mom, doesn’t exploit her kids for money, and is very open and transparent. She has a podcast with her husband that I also enjoy listening to :)

There are far worse and more negligent parents that are spoken about on this website who should have CPS called on them. I would say Oscar and Kyra probably don't need CPS called on them because their poor parenting is based on pure stupidity, not because they are cruel. I think they mean their best in terms of the childhood they want to give their kids, but they are both morons who came from broken homes and clearly received no input from responsible adults when their parenthood journey began, which has set up for awful habits four kids down. Their kids are far better off being with them than in the care system, because ultimately they are loved and Oscar and Kyra have the means to give them a safe, happy and healthy childhood. They just need some major parenting classes and a good kick up their arses.

However, they need a reality check because so far they have got very lucky that none of their kids have been seriously hurt.

They did a great job decorating her room. I just can’t imagine she is going to stay down there on a dungeon like that by herself at night. And really a big ass tv for a almost four year old. Her reaction was adorable.

How old are Casey and Caiden? I sure wouldn't be trusting them to watch 4 babies in a town they aren't even familiar with... even just the 3 older kids would be too much I think.

It looks like now alaya is in a backless booster and nothing for Levi now ugh

I thought the same. Kaycee just turned 13 in December so Kaden is 10/11.

Sure, they have a roof over their heads, food on the table but that doesn’t mean all their emotional needs are being met. I foresee those kids having major mental issues like anxiety, depression maybe even trauma in the future. Nothing in their life is stable or secure. It’s a shame that Kyra has the self awareness but will not go to therapy to learn how to stop the generational trauma she has in her family because the kids are still young, she can prevent her kids from growing up in a traumatizing environment.

Alaya's room is cute, but like everyone else I simply dont understand why she was banished to the dirty, unfinished basement. And the fact they let Averie wander around when there were dangerous tools and random things she could have gotten hurt on. Hell they couldnt even clean up their mess to suprise Alaya.

I truly wonder if they will ever address Alaya's turned in feet. It's very obviously not normal, are they just going to ignore it until it's too late, much like Levi's teeth? I'm envisioning that poor girl tripping down the dark spooky basement steps and breaking something.

My problem with them putting Alaya in the basement is that they advertised it to every child predator that’s lurking on these family vlogs. With a quick google search you can find their address, their house has what, one ring doorbell cam and a small little alarm on the windows? Someone could still easily break into their basement and snatch that little girl. OR stare at her since they couldn’t put up curtains before they let her sleep down there?
It blows my mind that Kyra was so against her bUbBy moving down there but is totally fine with her hardest child being down there. And she says she’s going to get a camera put in alayas room but here’s the thing... SHE HAS THEM. She’s a mom of four kids, she’s an influencer, we’ve literally SEEN her talk about baby monitors yet she didn’t put one down there when they set up the room because????
They don’t give a shit about this little girl. She’s been raised by YouTube videos her whole life and I guarantee she’ll turn out smarter than these drop outs will ever be. They make me so mad omg.
And kyras bullshit excuse about her not having her own room as a kid. She’s too young Kyra, let her have her own room in the basement when she’s in middle school. Not preschool.

Yes! And that big, ground level window in her new room makes me nervous as hell. Those kind of windows are required in basement bedrooms for safety. In an emergency, every bedroom needs an egress window that can be easily climbed out of, which also means to me, easily climbed in to. Their address can easily be found on the internet... And they put her bed right next to the window, which to me means it’s going to be colder in that spot in her room.
