May our soliders rest in peace and a big thank you. A big thank you also to our present and future soliders. If anyone on here has a family member serving in any armed forces give them a big hug and say thank you for all they are doing. Our men and women serving past, present and future will always have my support.

Your family and friend our in my heart and a big thank you!TaylorKnows wrote:My uncle and dad's cousin are vets, thinking of them today. Such a great men. So thankful they were among the lucky to come home. To all vets, military men&women that died in the line of action and to all those still on the line, thank you. To my buddy Charlie that just completed basic and is waiting on orders, I love you bud and wish you all the best.
My uncle was a pilot and served the second gulf war. He has went on many missions and is now retired. My cousin was a sniper over in Afghanistan. He most definitely came back a changed man but all is good now. He is now left the armed forces on honourable discharged. I now currently have one cousin serving and two friends still in our army.

Big thanks to your uncle and cousin as well!subject99 wrote:Your family and friend our in my heart and a big thank you!TaylorKnows wrote:My uncle and dad's cousin are vets, thinking of them today. My uncle fought in Vietnam, and I believe my second cousin did as well, I'm not entirely sure, but they're around the same age, so I don't think he would've fought in a different war. Both ended up alright in the end, though my cousin's son enlisted and that didn't turn out well at all, though I think it all depends on how you personally cope with things. My mom's friend has two sons that were in the army, both chose not to not re-enlist at a very young age and I think that was truly best for them, they knew they couldn't handle it. My brother talks about joining the military after high school. So proud of him, but at the same time, so scared.
As for this glitter thing...lmao...lol
Re: Off-Topic Banter Part 3
My Great Grandfather's younger brother ( who was 16 ) had joined the Navy. My GGF who was apart of the Navy had organised himself and his brother to switch boats as he assumed the boat he was going on would be the safest one for his brother. That ship was bombed and his little brother died. He lived with that for the rest of his life. That's the only story I know of my family members in the Army.
LizLee You are fantastically gorgeous!

My husband is active duty and we just got back from dinner and he got a free meal for it being Veteran's Day. Not a bad way to say thanks!

A small calendar and a pen (to take note of the date)! And of course some chocolate!thegooseiscooked wrote:My daughter has been having Life Education lessons at school and they are talking about periods currently. For homework, they have to put together a Period Kit and I'm a bit stumped. I was never a "kit" person, I just carry tampons in my pocket or purse.
So I can sew and am going to whip her up a nifty little pouch to keep things in. So far we have come up with pads, tampons, change of undies and a plastic bag to put ...ahem....stained undies in (oh the joy of having a daughter).
Any other clues?

I heard of these nifty heat pads that the Libra company made to ease cramps. Here's a link. http://www.lovelibra.com.au/products/th ... tches-2pk/TruthBTold wrote:A small calendar and a pen (to take note of the date)! Excellent suggestions ladies, thank you. Heat pad wouldn't work though Yue, she has no access to a microwave.

You'll be glad to know that my GP was extremely amused by our glitter talk this morning and was racing home to look up the video on YouTube.
