Turning EIGHT!? How do these kids even find them? And I can understand watching YouTube videos of any sort, but allowing a seven year old to comment on them isn't the best idea.

Well I guess we did a good thing, if it takes us telling them to show us how much they DO read to and pay attention to Ollie- maybe he'll get more attention.
Maybe.
I have often wondered how the heck they live in California and buy all that stuff... they need a financial advisor.

Give me coffee to change the things I can and wine to accept those I cannot.

Re: DailyLiars&Spenders -Part 33
I never let my kids on the internet like that when they were that age. I'm strict-- I didn't even let my daughter get a Facebook account until she was 17! My son got one when he was 18, his own decision. Who would let an 8 year old watch their videos and comment on them? And announce that they're turning 8? Don't they ever watch Law and Order SVU? Heard of online predators?

I made my YT account at 9 and my parents had no clue, I went from playing webkinz to a webkinz forum to making a YT (for webkinz videos LOL which led me to the Shaytards and now here I am). I used to use a fake name and what not, hell they probably still don't know everything I do online and I prefer it that way, I don't need my parents to supervisor me. I have a tumblr, call 911. Clearly not being a parent makes my opinion different but whatever lol is what it is.

I made an account for my 5 and 7 year olds to share. I subbed to all the stuff they typically like (cartoons, toy reviews, that disneytoycar-whatever, etc), so that all their recommended videos tend to be age appropriate. They have access to a shared iPad and the Apple TV with that YT account. I loosely monitor their activity (check their history, and they're in the room with me when watching typically).spacekitty wrote:I made my YT account at 9 and my parents had no clue, I went from playing webkinz to a webkinz forum to making a YT (for webkinz videos LOL which led me to the Shaytards and now here I am). My parents let us watch pretty much whatever we wanted. I could sing and act out the entire Rocky Horror Picture Show at 6 and was addicted to horror films as a tween. I'm taking the same mind set. Anything too over their heads they won't get anyway, and if they do get it, it means we've already had a conversation about it, and they understand what they're seeing. I'm not a fan of censorship, even under the guise of making things "age appropriate".

Since they've made it obvious that they read here... Do you think Missy continues to be so lazy, complaining and talking about relaxing everyday because it's a snarky nod to us? Or she's that delusional and she doesn't realize what a lazy ass she is? I mean, it's in every vlog. That's perplexing.

There's a 10 year age gap between my older sister and I. My parents used to work a lot so my sister basically let me watch anything with her. I grew up on Degrassi because of her. It's really easy for parents not to know what their kids are watching

I'm not feeling well today, so I appreciate all the laughs today, Missy. From teaching people how to do their makeup like you to pretending that you read to Ollie all of the time. Thanks!

Re: DailyLiars&Spenders -Part 33
My brothers are 42, my youngest sister is 27, my parents raised them totally differently from me, considering the age gap lol. I think that plays a big part in it.babyspice wrote:There's a 10 year age gap between my older sister and I. My parents used to work a lot so my sister basically let me watch anything with her. "Look at my new bedding set you guise! I mean, we got new bedding for this room" --keep on trying Pissy, you're fooling us all

A few of the minions were going off about YTMD in the comments yesterday. I wonder if it directed anyone here?

Long time lurker here! I can't watch a single vlog anymore without rolling my eyes or laughing about how silly these people are, there is a difference between playing house and raising a family x
