8 Passengers | Part One
Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
I just watched her Costco video ... First, she has no plan. Second, a quarter of the stuff "she never buys" because of tonsils AND it won't all be gone in a week, she bought a couple 25lb bags of essentials (flour and something else), I was cooking spray on the counter too...
Anyone else grossed out when she put her finger in the dough? I have a newborn so I'm crazy with handwashing but her hands are touching Costco packages and her camera ... Then right in the dough. Ew.

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
I didn't watch the Superbowl, but instead caught up on some vlogs, including Ruby's. If SHE is going hungry, imagine how her kids must feel! Around Christmas time she remarked that on a certain day, as a child, she recalled having as much breakfast as she wanted to eat. It struck me as very strange. My kids had as much food as the cared to eat on a daily basis and not one of the three were ever overweight. I'm not surprised she had to up the food budget, and she likely will need to up it again in short order. Personally, I'd never pay $7 for that fruit biwl unless it was meant to be a special treat. If I can find apples at .99/lb, tangerines for $2.99/lb, and bananas at .69/lb, why can't she? I didn't see any leafy greens or vegetables to speak of either. Has anyone watched the channel, "She's in Her Aoron"? Her family is Mormon too and they seem to have a lot more, and better quality, food on offer.

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
Her grocery haul was pretty terrible. No vegetables, a small bowl of fruit, little meat and a whole heap of snacks. I can understand buying extra treats because you have sick kids who just had surgery and anything in their belly is better than nothing, but don't complain about the price if things are once off purchases. She definitely carb loads her meals with little real nutrition.
The moral of the story is, don't have more kids than you can afford/don't complain about your food bill when you have a ton of kids.

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
I agree that it was weird that she complained about it being a $400 trip and said it would be $1600/month when she bought special treats for Russell and Eve, toothpaste, 25 lbs of sugar and flour. But seriously, do they not eat any vegetables at all? And hardly any fruit. Plus, they go through four loaves of bread within three days?
In today's vlog when she was talking about Kevin coming home she said she wanted to go get a treat with him and she was at a point where she was ready to be more of a wife than a mom and she needs a little change. I don't have six kids and I'm sure it's overwhelming but isn't that kind of what you sign up for?

That rubbed me the wrong way too. She seemed so annoyed and over taking care of the kids. I get two are sick and your husband has been out of town but she CHOSE to have six kids and CHOSE to have both their surgeries at the same time probably when she knew her husband would be out of town. She can be so so whiny sometimes and I'm just like lady, you brought this all on your self. I don't think she needs to announce the the whole world (and her kids) that she's tired of being a mom and needs a change. Imagine how they'll feel when they look back on that.kaylnoel wrote:I agree that it was weird that she complained about it being a $400 trip and said it would be $1600/month when she bought special treats for Russell and Eve, toothpaste, 25 lbs of sugar and flour. Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
what's the bet ruby will be pregnant again soon, even though she's said 6 is her limit, right? she doesn't seem to think of the logistics of all those mouths to feed, so what's stopping her from having 1 more? especially if she realises that pregnancy + babies bring in view$$$$

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
Omg, that would be good for her youtube channel, but I can't imagine her having one more. I don't believe she has the emotional capacity to handle one more. In fact, it seems she's having a hard time now. Six is beyond me, so I'm not exactly knocking her. But she had 6 children on her "list". She has 38k subs, I think she is making a decent amount of money and is working really hard now. She'd be foolish to have another imo. Besides, her babytalking really annoys me.actuallydear wrote:what's the bet ruby will be pregnant again soon, even though she's said 6 is her limit, right? she doesn't seem to think of the logistics of all those mouths to feed, so what's stopping her from having 1 more? especially if she realises that pregnancy + babies bring in view$$$$

Don't worry, Shari can handle one more.Whatshesaid_2015 wrote:Omg, that would be good for her youtube channel, but I can't imagine her having one more. Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
Shari was cracking me up today making faces behind her mom while she was complaining about the Oreos. She knows her mom is nuts! Poor Shari would end up sharing a room with a two year old and newborn. And I think Ruby is YouTube fame hungry...a pregnancy would definitely up views and subs.phie20 wrote:Don't worry, Shari can handle one more.Whatshesaid_2015 wrote:Omg, that would be good for her youtube channel, but I can't imagine her having one more. Please no pregnancy. She complains enough as it is. Her bump update videos would be full of complaints and nothing good. She is such a negative Debbie downer

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
She has a video from a couple months ago called "how do you know you're done" or something like that were she discusses why she's done. She mentioned that she thought she was done at 4 and was overwhelmed then but just knew in her heart their were more to be had. She also said it's taken a toll on her body and that seemed to be the main reason she was done. In the same video, she goes on to explain that she wants to go back to school to become a teacher when eve gets in to school.Kryptonite wrote:I have thought about her having another baby for YouTube views but I had some questions. Yes, they're personal:
1) I wonder if she's NPTP. I am not sure how common birth control is in the Mormon culture.
2) Being that she's had so many miscarriages and a stillbirth, I wonder if she physically can.
3) Does Kevin want more? Will Kevin's opinion be considered?
4) Does this mean she'll crave Oreos and we'll have to watch her eat more and more of them while she disciplines Eve while talking in a baby voice from the bed?
5) Will this baby also be dependent on Shari once nursing is done and over with?

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
I watched her Costco haul and $1600 in groceries a month seems insane to me! Is the cost of living low in Utah? (that's where they're at right?)

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
$1600 with as little meats and veggies as she offers them is laughable. She carb loads them because it is cheaper than feeding them healthy. When she did a good haul a few months ago she got a lot of flack on the lack of fruits, veggies and meats.

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
Several months ago she did a haul and I believe she had a food budget of $1200 for her family of eight. She just raised it to $1600, she said. Maybe it's me, but it just isn't adding up to me. She should be investing in her food storage in addition to just feeding her family. Check out her food channel, the meals are rather skimpy imo.Ambrosia wrote:I watched her Costco haul and $1600 in groceries a month seems insane to me! Is the cost of living low in Utah? Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
I can see how her Oreo rant could have been funny or sarcastic..if it were anyone else but Ruby. Either she just loves to find anything to complain about, or she was trying to make a joke and she couldn't pull it off.Mallabow wrote:New video is as follows

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
she's tired of being a mother? Well she better get over that quick, her kids are all still young! She's got a ways to go until they're making their way out of the house. Do girls go on missions? If not, she only has 2 boys who will definitely be away when they are 18.

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
Well I'm glad she confessed that she's been keeping Abbey and Julie in the dark or whatever.. Julie's haircut looked super cute!
And with her commentary about getting away from the kids, I bet she wishes she had a nanny/babysitter person like Bonnie! I mean I know every mother needs to get out and do their own thing, but if she was so deadset on having that many kids, then she has to realize that sometimes she won't get that luxury! I think the Griffiths were kinda raised with this, "Have kids, but they can be such a burden" mentality and they just milk it for all it's worth. I don't know if I worded that right, but they all just seem way too happy to get away from their children. Ruby is obviously the worst with that mentality. Maybe I'm digging too deep, I dunno..
