I know the big world is scary. Trusting the village to care for/protect your kids is asking a lot.
Nobody gonna protect your kids like you will.

I have watched their vlogs for awhile and you've seen their family grow quickly. It is good Dana is asserting she can no longer homeschool a large family, seeing their daughters thrive in school and this makes her happy. This also gives Hannah time away from home to be a child since she does have responsibilities with younger siblings. Tim decision to point out negatives with Hannah gone when speaking to Zeke should have been just the opposite saying he wants his sister to do well. However, you could see Dana smiling for the first time in a while with a routine she can master which looks like less stress for her.

Dana just posted an Instagram story and said that they are bringing Hannah back home to do homeschooling again after Christmas. She didn’t mention Halle though.

She addressed what they are doing with Halle and they are keeping her in public school for kindergarten.

*rolls eyes*. Well at least Halle and the twins get some time at of the house. But sounds like Hannah’s decision was made for her. I’m betting when Dana said was always going back and forth with if she liked public or homeschool better she was just trying to please her parents. Of course she’s not going to be able to say she doesn’t like homeschool or prefers public school in front of Tim. Their obsession with keeping the kids home all day is still so strange to me. I think they just like having the extra hands around the house to help with the little ones and have convinced Zeke that homeschooling without Hannah is the worst thing ever.

I was glad to see Dana seems to be feeling a little bit better.

I have a kiddo who doesn't go to school in the winter and is homeschooled. She seems to transition okay so hopefully Hannah will as well.

Tim got to go to Israel. He was saying he was checking it out before bringing the family - does he mean for a trip or to move there?

Damn but we all saw this coming, Tim wasn't going to keep Hannah in public school, she looked so excited when she went too! I'm sure they may have "asked" her but of course she couldn't tell the truth or she got a nudge to say she would rather stay home :(

I think Tim meant that he wanted to check it out before they all visited there not move there (thankfully) because it would probably be too much for Dana.

It might have been nice to see Hannah in public school longer than a few months. I saw the IG with Dana visiting Hannah at lunch, who was with her friends, and it looked like a happy group. I wonder how this decision was made. A question for homeschool families is could children want to homeschool instead of attending public school because it is a less structure day or year, a shorter school day and simply not having to get up as early in the morning to get to school. It is a different topic, but I've wondered how homeschool days (hours) compare to formal school which is at least six hours a day - five days a week minus vacations.

Last time Tim did a schedule update, which was like a year ago, so things could have changed (but I’d imagine for the worse since things have only gotten more hectic), he said they only did structured schooling for 2 hours a day, 4 days a week. I know there’s a lot of fluff in public schools and a lot more kids but I just don’t know how you could possibly be getting everything done in 8 hours a week. Plus they were taking large breaks when Livia came and had surgeries, but then I guess making up for it in other months. They haven’t been very open about it. Tim does all the schooling and runs a full time business. Seek got to move up a grade but Hannah couldn’t progress if she wanted because they wanted to keep them on the same curriculum to make it easy. I don’t know, I feel like I’m being quite critical but I think the kids are missing out on a lot of things to meet their parents desires and needs...to me it seems like the homeschooling was done for convenience to have the older kids at home to help with the little kids a majority of the day and to meet Tim’s strange desire to have the family at home together 24/7.

Dana appears to be doing much better in the last few vlogs. I wonder what type of help she has received for her PPD? It also appears Livia is doing better and having several children in school during the day lowers the stress level at home.

I’m so disappointed that Hannah isn’t going to school anymore. That girl needs school so badly, they all do. I’ve seen great homeschool parents, don’t get me wrong. I’m all for it if it’s done right, but they just can’t give those kids the help, socialization and education they deserve. Plus Dana looked like she was ready to burst into tears as she said Hannah’s coming back. She knows she doing this to fast but is trying to please Tim. She’s going to have a nervous breakdown if she doesn’t stop trying to please him and do everything she wants to do. I wish Tim would do all he could to take care of her. The more I watch them the more I feel he’s extremely selfish. He wants what he wants and even if it’s more than Dana can handle he still pushes.

From the previous messages here, I thought Hannah would be coming home, they still didn't reveal why she is stopping public school, but the twins leaving preschool was a surprised. Why go back to where you were with all the children home since it is much harder and there is more clutter. How would Dana find time to exercise or take time for herself with more children home? My opinion, with things improving for several reasons, why not continue these beneficial changes. :(

I think she is going to way over burden herself way too fast. And to talk about taking herself off the antidepressants too at the same time?? Doesn’t she understand that those are the reason she is feeling better and the reason she is feeling like she can handle having the kids back at home??? Horrible idea. She’s finally seeing improvement but can’t seem to get over the stigma of needing antidepressants (I’m sure Tim is no help in this department). I worry she’ll go off them to quickly and be right to where she started.

I hope they don’t pull Halle out too, but I suspect it will come. If she does, she’ll go from full time school back to doing abc mouse all day long with Toby and that would be such a waste. I don’t think the twins should be pulled out of daycare until that have a definite nanny lined up to help either. They’re getting ahead of themselves and things will probably come crashing down if they do too much at once. Hannah and Halle are surely at the same school, so that’s only one car trip (or let them take the bus??). I think they should let Hannah finish out the school year and reevaluate then. It’s not the end of the world if the twins come home but they need to ensure there’s a nanny lined up first. There needs to be an extra adult in that house to take some of the chore and childcare burden off Dana and the older kids and provide some mental stimulation beyond sitting on abc mouse all day long.

Tiger27 I agree with what you've written. I watched the prior vlog and see how the discussion with school looked at transportation or drive time. My guess is both Hannah and Halle, who are in public school, should be able to go on a bus and I tend to think Halle is taking a bus. I guess it is just different ideas with raising children and while I've like their team concept, we would differ in raising children (we have a larger family, but not seven). We've had help of others through education, church, community sports and scouting. Each of these organizations or institutions bettered my children and I've appreciated them all. Time will tell if the stress of a larger family is manageable with having six children at home full-time even with some outside help. *I'm not seeing the computer education abc mouse as beneficial in comparison to teacher interacting with students, but I do not know enough to judge it.

My son goes to public school(he’s in kindergarten) and they do use abc mouse as a tool and he loves it. But it’s a tool to his education, it goes along with everything else, it shouldn’t be the primary source of a child’s education. Tim and Dana aren’t cut out to be homeschool parents, they’re just not good at it and that’s ok!! You have to know your limits, that’s part of being a good parent. Knowing when you need more than u can give.

I think this sudden shitshow preview is a protest of what she does. Tim can take the twins in the morning. He's a yt dad. Needs to start acting like it.

Shay plowed his driveway in the a.m. so his wife could take the kids to school.
Tim schmoyer can help the fuck out.

I think its too soon. He was a dick with compromising -said xmas now its xmas .

Dana needs her community's help. Reach out lady!

I thought that was ridiculous! He’s like hear you go and the video cuts a few seconds later ..that’s like throwing meat to a pack of wolves!

I did think his gift to Dana was nice with boards. The cutter thing seemed like a superfluous gift but the boards were very thoughtful.

This is nit picky but what I really wish I that they would gift themselves a nice big family sectional. Those little old couches in that big living room drive me nuts.
