He has definitely gotten worse as he gets older. I get building your kid up, allowing them to be confident.Hyacinth wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 12:54 pmHe comes across as arrogant, and that isn't an admirable quality in an adult or a child.grandmama1 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 12:09 pmI think Andrew is the most unlikeable family member after M & M Definitely having a love affair with himself he's been told how clever he is and he believes it. Doubt if he evens knows the basic of Maths and English
This is worse. They have allowed him to think that he is some sort of a brilliant genius with no need for an education.
This is the same kid who went to school for 2 weeks, just so he could have a middle school (For those not in the US, middle school is typically grades 6-8, sometimes 5-8, while junior high is for schools that have 7-8, or rarely, 7-9th grade) experience, so he could write an authentic middle school based book.
There is nothing authentic about his experience, and no doubt, there would be nothing authentic about what he writes.
He’s an arrogant kid who can’t make friends now, and he’s going to be an arrogant adult who won’t make friends then, either.
I dislike Elijah for being raised the same way, but he at least has a charismatic energy about him. He will be able to make friends where ever he goes, whether they will be long term or not.
Andrew, on the other hand, honestly believes he is a certified genius- smarter than anyone else about any topic he has ever even heard of. No one likes to be friends with people like that. He’s the kind of kid who would argue with women about why they have menses, what it feels like, how long it lasts, etc.

Sorry it’s long, but I have so many thoughts.
With Elijah, he is definitely charismatic. That’s a good word for it. It’s his bright smile. Andrew doesn’t smile much.
The inside of that house, especially her bedroom, is a reflection of the inside of her brain. It’s a jumbled mess. How do they sleep with all the stuff everywhere. The walls are full of pictures? It’s like a teenagers room with magazine pictures all over the walls.
She keeps saying it’s only for a few more months. I really believe that’s the only way she can function. She is always planning and changing things, so if she thought she would have to be there for another year, she would be dropping everything and moving on to the next obsession.
The way she agonizes over every little decision, they are going to be there a lot longer. The poor contractor has his work cut out for himself.
I can see Pearl saying “peace out” as soon as she is old enough. She is a quiet child and seems broody and over their shoving a camera in her face 24/7.
I know nothing about D&D but it seems that those kids put all their time and energy into that game. M&M couldn’t even work because they were having a game and the music or something was getting in the way. Seriously?
How many excuses can Meg make up for not selling her crap?? She doesn’t want to let anything go! It’s too cold, the light isn’t right. She is too tired. The kids music or noise is too much. She wants to put together groupings. It’s always some excuse.
Legit question: What is she going to do with all the stuff that is inside that little house when they start tearing it down to the studs?? Where are they going to go? By the time the house is done (never) she will have forgotten all her stuff in storage, and will have thrifted another house full of garbage.

Elijah always seems smug to me, but he's not as arrogant as Andrew.
Where do you start with that dump of a MASTER bedroom. Its a disgrace the bedding looks gross I don't know how they can sleep in it. It must give them nightmares. Why on earth she revamped that small bathroom what a waste of time and money. In fact why they bothered painting that awful green wall and horrific fireplace. Weve renovated 3 houses and if your living in the house just keep it as tidy and clean as you can because its going to be covered in brick, plaster and dust. Don't think thats registered with them.
Feel sorry for the builder she will be under his feet all the time. Plus Mike showing him youtube videos of how it should be done. Hope the contractor brings his own coffee cos LDS don't drink it

I'm new to watching the Miller Fam vlogs. I find their videos warm and relaxing as opposed to feeling irritated and pissed off at Megan & Mike's neglectful parenting. Want to see how a family with bio and adopted children of different ages and education levels homeschool? This is nurturing through education. This is nurturing through dining together, cooking together & cleaning together. This is nurturing through READING & PLAYING together! Notice how they are all together? Notice how they aren't all off by themselves with their face in a screen? These kids are being hugged, kissed and NURTURED.
They laugh and smile and have a fun life. What a stark difference to the Knorpps. I feel so sorry for their kids.

Out of curiosity I'm watching "Forged in Fire" on Netflix. I'm horrified they are letting Asher play with hot steel and fire unsupervised. I always have been, but watching how dangerous this is with experienced people, it is insane this is happening.

Why is he playing with fire in the first place.? plus someone sent him more iron stuff to use. You never see the boys or girls playing ball games. They don;t seem to be into sport just playing D and D which I think the Knorpps think is educational . One day there will be an accident playing with fire

I used to watch the Millers and they do come over as a very close and loving family. The problem I have is with Steven he's in the background all the time I find him very false. Plus Amanda is naturally pretty but she needs to eat more.1Poodle1 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 18, 2021 10:06 am I'm new to watching the Miller Fam vlogs. That house is going to look terrible with Megan in charge of all the appliances, furnishing, and decor. Just listening to her ramble about everything, it all seems so impractical. I hope it's their forever home, because I doubt it will have any resale value. Especially being that large in that small neighbourhood.

So many nails hit squarely on the head there. I don’t know why I’m still watching but right now it’s more a morbid curiosity......plus Jude is just adorable. I love watching Eve be so confident but that poor child should be spending several hours a day in therapies of all sorts. Everyone else is “finding their path” but she’s being left to stagnate.
I’m astounded they both spend so much time in thrift stores or grocery stores or anywhere without any of the kids. There is something very wrong there. I understand some people need alone time or a date night once in a while but this seems to be constant. Taking each child for their own trip once in a while would be a great chance for conversations to catch up with what they’re doing, how they’re feeling, any worries etc. outside of the family unit when kids are less likely to open up.
Esther is breaking my heart. She’s been identified as the babysitter and I get the feeling she still doesn’t feel at home there. She doesn’t get any recognition of how wonderful she is and she still interacts with M&M like strangers.
I’m also noticing as I watch more and more they seem borderline terrified of the kids watching actual TV. That ridiculous app they watch PG13 only movies through that filters anything out that may be unsuitable for toddlers is insane. The oldest kid will have had such a culture shock in Japan. I sincerely hope he got laid and drunk, a lot, and if there’ll be a knock on the door from a baby momma soon oh how I’d how with laughter
What I’d also give for Andrew to come out, Mike to be found screwing some 21yr old, and at least one of the kids tells them both to shove their religion.
Does anyone know how each other’s set of parents feels about the other spouse? I noticed last Christmas Mike spoke to his family privately and they weren’t on a Group FaceTime, it was just him. That was really odd.
Apparently I needed to get a lot off my chest about this car crash family.

Do you need planning permission before any building work can commence? I'm in the UK and it takes months before the local council and planners give their agreement, especially for such a huge change in the original building. Also the council will send letters to neighbours to see if they have any objections to the new building.lurkerthatposts wrote: ↑Mon Jan 18, 2021 2:25 pm That house is going to look terrible with Megan in charge of all the appliances, furnishing, and decor. No doubt when Megs gets her mitts on the design it will look dreadful The proposed building looks very similar to my house in the UK. Our house was built in 1920 and has original leaded windows. I would attach a photo but not sure how I would do it. The sink in the kitchen looks horrific thats where I stash all my cleaning stuff.
Before I sign off for the night what a giggle filling a bath with 3 kettles of water!!

I work for a municipality in a different state from them, so take this with a grain of salt. Here, they would have to get sign offs from several departments before the building department will issue a permit. The health department, conservation, tax collector, and planning. They might also have to gets sign offs from highway and fire, but I’m not sure. The only time the neighbors would be notified is if there is a variance requested that would impact the abutters, or if they’re requesting something that is outside their zoning or lot restrictions. I wonder if they plan on acting as their own contractor. Did they say? The contractor will be able navigate all the departments and approvals they’ll need.grandmama1 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 18, 2021 3:33 pmDo you need planning permission before any building work can commence? I mean, presumably they have resorted to buying their own plans because they cannot find anyone else, who will agree to doing what she is suggesting.
This isn’t a renovation. It’s a complete rebuild?
There is a whole house to be built and she is planning where the coffee machine is going to go in the kitchen? Talk about priorities!
That alone indicates how out of line with reality, she is.
How can they be choosing floors, when they don’t even know what size the floors will be?
Who is doing all this work?
We have a house building television series here in the UK - Grand Designs. The stress people go through building their ideal homes in it, is horrendous. Inevitably, the project goes way over time and budget.
This kind of project, requires a huge budget. What happened to the cottage they wanted? It’s transformed into a double-fronted home in the space of a year and I don’t even think there’s enough space on their site to support a house of that size, never mind any of the rest of it.
A year ago, they were going off grid to build a homestead and now this?
She makes my head ache just even thinking about it all.

How is their current house going to turn into this “historic”-looking home? Is it a complete demolish?
Also, they’re moving again in 3 months because of construction. Can these kids get more than 6 months of “stability”?
Exposed plumping in her new kitchen? I’m not a fan.

So i didn't comment right away to see if anyone else would. Yesterdays vlog "We found our house plans" They addressed eve has acid reflux which they treat with a essential oil pill. Ugh where to begin with this. Acid reflux is a huge issue and can do serious damage if not treated or is treated incorrectly. Usually acid reflux is caused by something else or could be as simple as Hypotonia/low muscle tone, celiac which is common in kids with DS, stomach emptying issues which my son had and had major surgery to correct, to something as simple as tonsils need to be removed. Left untreated acid reflux can cause tooth decay, esophagus erosion, stomach issues, aspiration and ulcers. This is nothing short of child abuse/neglect. No way is any doctor who is worth a damn telling them to treat acid reflux with a essential oil pill.
Andrew the arrogant was playing checkers with Eve later in the video and made a comment about how she was smart enough to play checkers but not chess. That really pissed me off assuming she will never do anything because of her IDD will limit her in every area of her life. I can't imagine thinking your siblings has those thoughts about you. Ok rant over.

Hi your from the UK too. We bought an acre of land in Cheshire to have a house built. It took us at least 6 months to have the plans finally passed. If theyre hoping to have all those bathrooms surely the present drains won't be adequate. There's so much to take into account. Unless its a pre build. Megan really has a high opinion of herself. Theyve already paid $300,000 + you can double that by the time theyve finished at least. When theyre driving around there are some beautiful houses in the area. Why didn't they just buy one of those?MervelllaB wrote: ↑Tue Jan 19, 2021 3:29 am I mean, presumably they have resorted to buying their own plans because they cannot find anyone else, who will agree to doing what she is suggesting.

Eve does need some kind of education and structure in her life. I know all DS kids are different but Eve seems to lag behind most. She's very excitable and instead of calming her they just ignore her. No child of her age should be allowed to climb all over the furniture, speak with her mouth full, be unable to communicate even the easiest of words. she must be reaching puberty I hope someone has warned her, it will probably be left to Esther.

I think one of the causes of her tummy problems is Eve, like the rest of them, never sit properly at the table to eat. Their diet lacks veg, fruit etc. they fill up on Mike's cookies. If she does continue with stomach problems they should seek medical advice. But of course supermum Megan is not only an architect, antique dealer, she is also an unqualified doctor.jacobismom10 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 19, 2021 12:03 pm So i didn't comment right away to see if anyone else would.

Andrew has a very inflated opinion of himself. Put him amongst his peers and lets see how clever he is
