But seriously... WHAT IN THE WORLD? WHY? I could honestly see Mindy in the dairy aisle "oh my gosh you guys look at this awesome sugar creamer, but our religion doesn't allow caffeine so let's put it in milk....MILK

I know milk is debatable, it is unhealthy when consumed regularly but there are benefits to using it on occasion- but why ruin it with creamer? Not even a special treat, it was lunch time. This sounds like daily behavior the way it was so casually brought up.

No family eats perfectly, I love coffee creamer, but I've never ever had the thought of "oh if I mix this with milk the kids could drink it"
If her “religion” doesn’t allow caffeine then they need to stop all the sodas they drink and the chocolate they eat. They are such hypocrites it’s disgusting!

They allow soda but not coffee. I don’t understand it. That’s why all Mormons seem hopped up on soda.

Because they at first didn’t allow caffeine at all, then the mormon church bought Pepsi co. So they allowed cold caffeine. It makes no sense to change rules like that

Can they drink decaf coffee? These rules are so confusing. I know the Knorpps love their hot cocoa.

The word of wisdom just banned tea and coffee not hot chocolate or caffinated drinks even engery drinks. I was lds for 24 years and literally no idea why this is.

I've been lurking for a while, but I'm finally upset enough to post something. I saw on Mindy's IG stories last night that she went to a swimsuit launch party with a bunch of other people and no masks in sight. I haven't seen my 98-year old grandma in over a year, and here Mindy is pretending like it's 2015. I think this might be the time for me to unfollow this family and get updates here instead. I just want to give my grandma a hug, and it kills me to see people like Mindy gallivanting around without a care for anyone else.

Sorry for the back-to-back posts, but this seems like the best place to vent. I used to like watching the Binghams because they seemed like a mostly normal family and enjoyed seeing what they were up to at 1pm every day while I ate my lunch. Somewhere along the way, after Branden left his job and Mindy quit hers, the channel seemed to lose what made it fun for me to watch. I don't want all this rad, cool, savage stuff. I agree with the previous posters that Mindy doesn't have much meaning in her life, and who knows what's up with Branden. I feel sorry for the kids having to have their entire lives filmed and made an "event." Here's hoping everything isn't as bad in real life as it seems to me on camera.

Branden, no indoor voice and has to yell and holler. If today's video is anything to judge by, then their channel has peaked as far as content goes. He's doing dumb hops and dancing. Good job REPEATING what everyone else says, we don't NEED you to do that. Branden, you are not needed in that way. Take off the damn hat too, and stop with the incessant hand gestures while you speak, there is a thing called punctuation. Oh wait, you edit out all pauses (or run a program, probably) and call that editing. And we are not interested in your stupid VR world. Sigh, once a brainless gamer, always a brainless gamer. Hopefully others will wise up to how his behavior is holding back the others, esp. Mindy and Hazyl.

I kind of liked them better when they didn’t have any sort of gaming in their house. I respected them for staying grounded in that aspect. Now it’s like their house threw up and all you see is gaming. I skip through all those parts of the vlog. I skip through most of their one wheel adventures too.

I so agree. Once the kiddos got more screens, the life got drained from their eyes. Ryler with his phone, Krew and Brex seem normal but I'm bothered Hazyl has a switch, unless it's for travel, once we can do that safely again. Then again, I'm so anti-smartphone and screens, it borders on violence. Branden quit his job to be home with his family and do youtube, which is fine if you can profit from it. But so far he seems to just go to the gym each day and is still up late editing. They specifically wanted to avoid that. Now the Oculus is in the house, he's gotten nearly everyone into it, I just can't stand it myself. Stupid gamers.

It's a mormon, and it's a member of a religion- the Church of Jesus Christ Later Day Saints. Most common in America, the religion is very exclusive and holds a lot of strict rules, for example if you confess sins to a bishop- depending on what you've done, they can revoke your right to the sacrement (communion- taking the bread) until you complete the "temple work" that has been assigned to you. ( know someone who confessed to pre marital sex, because she thought if she didn't confess she would go to hell) her and her future husband were assigned the work and they decided the church didn't mean that much to them anymore so they never completed it.

They don't openly love everyone, I believe being gay is not okay with their church.

The whole what they can and can't have confuses me... I'd rather have my teenagers drink coffee than soda so I have no clue understanding about the caffeine rule..

For this specific family, Mindy made up a rule that there are no games or devices on Sunday unless it's the TV and everyone is watching a show together so because of this, the kids like to play extra games on Saturday and Monday to make up for it... I think Mindy might be an idiot because I don't know how they can game all day for 6 days but 1 day off makes up for it?? why not say 1 hour a day every day, MAYBE if they limited their device time there would be less missing school work and the princess Hazyl would actually know one page of her sight words..

The screen time is disgusting, when Mindy puts Hazy to bed they watch a show?? She's 5, none of those kids need to be put to bed but even so, read them a story... not "watch a YouTuber"

Also

While many Mormons do avoid caffeinated soft drinks, LDS Doctrine and Covenants – the revelation Mormon prophet Joseph Smith says he received from God — only explicitly forbids the consumption of "hot drinks."

The official handbook of the Church describes how that has been interpreted:

"The only official interpretation of 'hot drinks'... in the Word of Wisdom is the statement made by early Church leaders that the term 'hot drinks' means tea and coffee.
"Members should not use any substance that contains illegal drugs. Nor should members use harmful or habit-forming substances except under the care of a competent physician."

I had an LDS client who I asked about this once and she told me that the word specifically meant hot caffeinated beverages. It was all caffeinated beverages before it became lucrative to- *cough* I mean, before it was ascertained that it should just be hot drinks. I guess it was her personal understanding that it was a special requirement for God's people to be in a holy or clean condition that they not partake in hot caffeinated drinks or consume alcohol.

*mumbles* even though Jesus' first miracle was to turn water into wine

So Madi gets 10 points extra credit if her social media post gets the most likes...
Hmmm I think the lesson was about organic content- I hope the teacher lets someone else get the credit too, I certainly would be complaining on that one if I was in the class- that's almost insulting to the other students

It is still technically organic since she's not paying to promote her post, though their explanation of the project made it sound like even paid promotion was acceptable. Honestly, someone else could post a tiktok that could go viral and get millions more likes than a girl who's family has a niche youtube channel posting a reel on instagram. Many of their viewers will not check out her post, let alone interact with it. If no one else makes an attempt to actually go viral or play to the algorithm of tiktok, then yes, she easily would win. I'd love to hear in the end that someone else won the contest just by going viral, but i would suspect if she does not win, we will never hear anything more of the project.

Anyone else find it weird that Branden and Justin’s families live so close but the cousins aren’t very close and they don’t go on those trips together anymore? They used to go to Vegas together every year and now it seems like they see each other only when the other family is there. Maybe Jared and Justin are just close and Branden and Chelle are close but it really does seem like something is going on between them. Every since their parents left for their mission it seems like the family separated. It’s just crazy that Branden and Mindy take Dan and Chelle everywhere, most likely paying for them to go as well but never seem to take any other siblings.

Maybe I’m just crazy but let me know if y’all think the same.

No I've always said that, I've never seen Dan and Chelle take the Our Life in Holland kids anywhere
Jared and Britt take both but I think they prefer the Holland kids
Sean just goes wherever

But yes interesting how Brandon and Mindy NEVER talk about going on dates with Justin and Lindsay, they never watch each other's kids- Something is for sure wrong there. The only time they are together it seems it's 'because that's what families do' (birthdays, visiting Landon post op, graduation) I can't remember the last time I've seen them together just because they enjoy spending time together.

Yes! even Lindsay and Mindy stopped being close too. They always used to refer to each other as best friends and would take each other’s children places they needed to go. They use to go out together a lot more etc. Now it seems like Lindsay hangs out with Teri McNeel and the people they went to Cancun with a lot more. Aside from their one boating day a year, their families never do things alone. I found it so odd that all the usual family traditions were not done last year and I don’t think it’s because of COVID. That’s the last thing they’re worrying about. Maybe it was Mana Jo all along keeping all her kids together because the second she left they all seemed to distance themselves.

I agree the family dynamics are weird.

Notice that Michelle and Daniel weren’t at Turin’s birthday that Holland’s posted a photo of the other day? Is there a rift between them?

Jared only ever seemed to hang out with Branden or his kids for vlog content or to get a tag in theirs.

But he seems close to Justin organically.

Sean and Jared work together so they are obviously close.

But you never see Jared and Michelle together.

Sean seems really close to the Hollands. He visits Branden’s family from time to time but you see him having holiday meals with Justin.

There definitely seems like something going on between Holland and TIHWB. Maybe Lindsey has changed? She’s always going out on date nights with the people they went to Mexico with. Never hangs out with Mindy.

But speaking of relationships. Branden doesn’t seem close with his parents unlike all the siblings seem to be. It’s like a cordial parent / child relationship but there’s nothing extra. Jared and Michelle have both proclaimed their parents to be their best friends. Nothing from Branden. Really makes you wonder what all goes on behind the scenes. It’s not like they’re condemning divorce. Michelle has been divorced. I bet a lot has to do with his legal history.
