Because actions speak louder than words. She can _say_ "I love you" until she's blue in the face, but not giving her actual blinds in her room until just this past month and leaving her with a shower curtain, taking off to NYC on an anniversary trip that could have been taken a week before or after while Madi was visiting, and other little slights speak much louder than all the "I love yous"JD386 wrote:Interesting. I couldn’t love and agree with what you said more. It’s so true. It’s sorta like their “thank you we love you” crap. It’s all said out of habit. Out of force. Not so much based on real feeling.lmmomSD wrote:Because actions speak louder than words. Agreed. Honestly that makes me really sad for him. But as they say, you make your bed and then you have to lie in it.

Re: This is how we Bingham | Part 4
I disagree that made doesnt seem to care she got in.. To me she seemed really happy and a lot more excited and talkative than she usually is. Although i cant stand Brandon and mindy, madi seems to be such a great influence for the kids. I agree that she probably isnt intending to spend too much time there nor should she have to but im sure they'll be super annoying and always expect her at things now. Mindy and hazy clearly struggled with not being the center of attention and it really bothered me that they kept teasing brandan about getting emotional like that. You know if he got lime that iver hazy mindy would be gushing over how sweet he is and how he just loves hazy so much. But since its madi she "thought something was wrong with him"
Re: This is how we Bingham | Part 4
I think madi is excited too. She’s just humble and not dramatic or self centered so maybe that’s why it maybe came off as not excited. Even at the end when branden said “I’ll say it because she never would, she even got a scholarship!” She’s just not braggy like the rest of them.
I like madi. She’s laid back and I think she has a good head on her shoulders. I also think it has a lot to do with her not growing up around branden (or a camera shoved in her face everyday.)

I am so happy for Madi. BYU may be 'average' however many get their hopes up only to not get in, same as any school. There is a great little book I recommend called Beyond the Ivy League. It talks about how a person should focus on other things besides the 'name' universities and what is REALLY important. Two of my most brilliant profs went to Cal-State schools. It's all about reading reading reading! As for Branden being so emotional, he had me crying too. A proud dad and I give him enough crap but I sure won't about this! Mindy, shame on you for immediately talking about her getting married... I said, "Let her graduate FIRST, thank YOU!" Not every woman goes to college for an 'M.R.S.' degree!!! Go Madi!

I like Madi - I think she seemed excited too. I found it really awkward when Mindy said she had never seen Branden cry like that before and that Madi was his baby girl. In a normal family, I wouldn't find that strange because people usually see all their kids as their babies. But it was soooo awkward that Mindy was just like :\ :\ there not knowing how to react. Her trying to change the topic to herself and her hair was funny too.

Re: This is how we Bingham | Part 4
I'm going to discuss this Madi getting into BYU from a father point of view. My parents divorced when I was 11 and my mother was my custodial parent and had me 90% of the time like Madi's Mom had her. When I got accepted into Penn State which meant I was going to move closer to my Dad he had the same exact reaction as Brendon did. He said he was excited that because he didn't get to spend near the amount of time with me that he wanted, because the courts wouldn't give him more time with me (this was 1984 and fathers didn't have the rights then that they do now) so he was thrilled he would be able to see me all of the time for four years. I did live with him by the way, because I was just as thrilled as he was to be able to be with him more often. I think that this Vlog was the most excited I've ever seen Madi I know how she feels.

Ok is it a Utah thing to say "swimming suit"?
We always say bathing suit and trunks/swim shorts in California.

Re: This is how we Bingham | Part 4
Her packing methods are ridiculous. Those packing cubes she linked are $24.99 per set and she bought one for each family member. Is she going to go through all this hassle of rolling and separating everything into cubes for the way home too? Or is everything going to just get stuffed into suitcases? She's so freaking Type A and obsessive. It must be exhausting traveling with her.
Also, she mentioned keeping tags on and returning items if they're not used. But there are entire outfits that she knows they are going to wear. Why would you leave the tags on them?

Jared and Britt.... another house hunting vlog. I think they realize that house vlogs get them more views which is why they're randomly visiting houses like the one they went to today that they clearly don't intend to buy. I think they honestly were just seeking out an open house to jump in and go to in order to film something. I've never seen people take SO long to buy a house. It's getting ridiculous at this point.
Re: This is how we Bingham | Part 4
They are absolutely ridiculous. Literally one of the first houses they looked at would have suited them fine. You’d think they were royalty with their standards. I just had a browse of their channel (I don’t sub to them because they’re so boring) and it’s so formulaic. Clickbait story that happened ten years ago -> shopping vlog (I swear they shop more than Mindy) -> bAbY VlOg when she’s not even pregnant-> house hunting -> pimping out someone else’s kid -> back to clickbait.JD386 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2020 12:55 pm Jared and Britt.... another house hunting vlog. When they eventually get pregnant they’re going to whore that baby out for views worse than anything TIHWB has done in the past five years.

I live in NJ and we call them swim suits and swim trunks here in this area. Different strokes for different states I guess and yes that pun was intended.itsame wrote:Ok is it a Utah thing to say "swimming suit"?

The packing cubes always crack me up. IDK why people don't realize that no matter how well they organize the items inside of them, the cubes -by law of simple physics- will always take up more space in the suitcase than if you had not used them. Even though it's a small bit of space, you're still not saving any. It's like an extra and totally unnecessary step in a task that is stressful to begin with.JD386 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2020 12:33 pm Her packing methods are ridiculous. Re: This is how we Bingham | Part 4
Honestly we use packing cubes and I found them amazing. However we used them so that we could pack 3 kids stuff into one suitcase and be able to pull the cubes out and load into drawers at the other end. I fold not roll. I like them because it keeps everything together. My husband and i only use them for underwear and swimwear. We managed ten days worth of clothes and gear for five people in two medium suitcases. Including deflated pool toys (that we left behind at the other end$.
Im a few mins in and Hazy has 6-7 pairs of pjs in her stack?? They have 3 days in disney and 3 days on the cruise. Thats 2 pairs of pjs. If your kids go to bed clean, then you have a spare pair only. I dont understand the need to take x amount of pjs for the days away. especially when you are flying and have a half dozen kids, use tshirts and undies if you get desperate.

Mindy packs a new pair of pyjamas for every night for every kid. I've noticed it in their last couple of big vacations. New pyjamas. Every. Night.Haulnarse wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2020 3:44 pm Honestly we use packing cubes and I found them amazing. Re: This is how we Bingham | Part 4
I don’t understand having a different pair of pajamas for every single day of the trip either. Especially when you’re tight on space somewhere like a cruise ship. I could see wearing each pair twice and packing 3 pairs. But one for every single night? No way. If Mindy came to the realization that each night doesn’t warrant a different pair of pajamas and talked about tips like that then it would be more of something to watch. But watching her pack suitcases over and over and over with the same worn out info is overkill.Haulnarse wrote:Honestly we use packing cubes and I found them amazing. Re: This is how we Bingham | Part 4
We travel a lot for our kids sports commitments. I dont think i ever pack more than one pair of pjs (since they have been toilet trained at least). I personally only wear undies to bed, my kids vary between nighties, tee/shorts type pjs down to just underwear. Id rather pack another tshirt and pair of underwear as a back up to pjs than waste space on pjs - that can only be worn to bed.
Also i don’t understand why they need new shorts/pants for every day? If something is spilt on them you can sponge them and they dry overnight. Jeans and denim items for example can be worn for days without washing in between.
I would assume where they are staying at disney would have washing facilities? Why not pop a load of washing on in the evening?
She seems to pack everything in excess. I pack light, throw in a dress or two for the girls as back up options.
Also her boys have a bazillion swimsuit options (no doubt hazy does too), why?? My son in fiji rotated two pairs of board shorts and two rash tops, I did pack 4 pairs of boardies because they are worn as shorts also... see sneaky buy and pack items that have many uses.
This is my best travel hack, take a “washing line”, suction it over the bathtub, in the bathroom, on a balcony window, etc. wet swimwear, anything that you needed to sponge - you can hang up (without pegs) to dry.
