I know when we bought our house 18 months ago which was built in 1775 we bought a warranty with it which was required by our mortgage company. Perhaps they had to do the same thing which is why they don't seem all that panicked about it.
Dumb question, but was 1775 a typo? If not, where do you live? Being a Californian where 1975 is considered old, my mind is kinda blown at the thought of that! ImageImage

I was wondering that too!

I would guess it depends on the state. In Oregon, where I used to live, there was no requirement for a warranty package. And the ones they sold separately really didn't cover much—like roofs and stucco siding, which is not really a great idea for the wet, cold PNW area.

Now that I live in FL, and as much as I despise having an HOA, they cover all roof and exterior repairs. Well, except the AC unit, which was a $5000 replacement last year.

My grandma’s house in Virginia was built in 1792, so 1775 wouldn’t be out of the question for a New England/East Coast house!

And the neighborhood I grew up in was on a former plantation. The original plantation house was across the street from ours, and it was definitely built before 1775. My grandparents lived in Waterford, Virginia, and the entire town is an historical landmark. The mill there was built in 1740.
But definitely, in areas other than the east coast, houses that old are rare. I guess it's not a landmark house. They come with their own hassles-- can't renovate, have to use certain colors, etc.
Sorry. I love old houses. My dream home is either a San Francisco Victorian or a Craftsman Bungalow, depending on when you ask me.
And it's much more interesting to me than anything these bozos do.

I may need some clarification. From the video it looks like they are using the bed they found on the side of the road.

Wow wow wow and wow again! They are literally begging groveling for people to send them stuff! They got just 2 letters and a magnet and you can see the whole over shouting the names was to get people or companies to send them stuff! How pathetic! I remember Kelsey opening up gifts she got for Juniper and never mentioning names or thanking anyone! I am blown away at how they are literally begging!

Corbin definitely said it was the bed they picked up on the side of the road, that there was nothing wrong with it and he was going to clean it

I mean...I love old houses too. But a renovated, up to code old house. Let’s be real.

Also the home warranty likely doesn’t cover the roof unless they bought additional coverage. It’s usually only for things like furnace, a/c...etc.

Really, I swear the one they had found in Cali was a different style. I will have to go back and check now.

No not a typo. I live in Burlington County, NJ in a town that has been in existence since 1670. The Farmhouse that we own was in my family for 191 years and was sold in 1966. It went up for sale in August 2017 and I bought it back into the family.

I would be surprised if a house built in 1947 required a home warranty on top of the standard home owners insurance policy that the bank wants. I also doubt that they chose to get a home warranty on their own.

I’m just wondering what was their thinking process and how stupid their decision was to purchase this house! I mean apart from knowing the previous owners stayed only a year and sold, the roof was an issue.
Where are they supposed to live with two children during repairs? Plus its tiny matchbox size! I can totally see dumb Kels seeing the flowerbeds and screaming to purchase! I can totally picture the previous owners jumping with joy they off loaded this mess!

I have a feeling they are just going to leave it with the patch because they don't have the $$$$ to properly fix it.

I also 100% believe the last owners got out after a year because the house is a disaster and needs a ton of work. People don't usually sell after just a year.

I agree that Kelsey wanted the house and they didn't do enough research or looking or thinking.

This house is an expensive MISTAKE. And what will they do now?? Sell it?

They won't be able to sell it without making the expensive repairs that it needs, because the geniuses Vlog everything that is wrong with it for the world to see. It won't be long before we get to see them both whining constantly about all of the problems with the house and how they need to move immediately. Their channel name could be changed too Steps To Couch Surfing.

No one is surprised at their awful mistake of buying this house. They plan nothing they research nothing. I am actually more surprised that his parents who no doubt footed a large sum of money to this stupid house didn't have more say. It just doesn't make sense. They made this big deal about buying a fixer upper. Did they think they were become the next big DIY sensations ?
