JesssFam: Crying About "Homeschool" to Pay for the Pool (Pt 144)
Re: JesssFam: Crying About "Homeschool" to Pay for the Pool (Pt 144)
I really don't care that she is going to see her grandma, I get it. My issue is the constant gatherings and parties leading up this traveling.

She didn't have to bring her kids. Chris could have stayed home with them. It could have just been Mimi and her. Then stay two weeks in a hotel in Sacramento on their way back. But of course, that's not as exciting as bringing her 7 kids. Why is Amanda going when she is pregnant? That's so irresponsible!

I’m thinking they’re going to say goodbye to Grammie. Why take the kids? That’s gonna be hard on them. I’m sure she can’t help herself and she’s gonna tell them what the trip is for. And what’s the point of a covid test if you don’t quarantine until the trip.

She said somewhere that's they're going to NJ, not NY.

I totally agree!MiloandMax1 wrote:This would also be different if Jess didn't act like this pandemic has affected her. She works from home, she still had friends & family over (Sunday dinner, birthday parties), she moved, got the car (when so many were out of work), Disney, Utah for the movie Lilia is in, probably more I'm missing. But having to watch her kids was just so hard. When she made them the way they are & now she has to see what their teachers deal with.
She has to have plans to go to NYC or she shouldn't/wouldn't have said that to Tommy. They flew into jersey it looks like. I also doubt she's sat her kids down as to why they are really there if it is for grammy but I'm sure she will have the camera filming it instead of being a parent.
Also its not just her. How many of us know what is promised tomorrow? Nobody does. My grandparents have passed but I see friends not going home because they are trying to do the right thing and know they probably won't have that family member next year.
I go back and forth on this. I'm not a hypocrite but jess NEVER took it serious from the start so those that listened and the 2 weeks went to a month, to 2 months to ok doing ok and then now possible lockdown again its frustrsting seeing her complain about things She's affected by considering what others have gone through actually losing jobs, homes, illness. She's just not relatable.
Look at Erin Gilfoy (from the vlog squad). She has been following all the guide lines. wanted to see family across country so rented an RV so they could sleep, eat and quarantine for 2 weeks on arrival.
There are ways to do it safely

They might be landing at Newark airport and going to NYC. Newark Liberty services NYC, it's basically another NYC airport.

They flew into jersey but the reason many of us said NYC was because Jess mentioned it to Tommy.fossilfinger wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 12:19 pmThey might be landing at Newark airport and going to NYC. Newark Liberty services NYC, it's basically another NYC airport.

And later she said in IG that they were going to New Jersey where they will be “all alone” on a 80 farm or property, to visit Grammie
So we shall see!

Why does Messs insist on swearing all the time? She carries on about being a family vlogger, yet speaks like that. It wouldn’t be so bad if she didn’t encourage her young viewers to go to her Instagram.

I couldn’t agree more with this. She sounds like she’s forcing it. And she just sounds immature.sezzajaydee wrote:Why does Messs insist on swearing all the time? Her titles make me laugh.
Your putting it on YouTube, which means your recording it therefore its *on camera*.

They went. Just saw her insta story of everyone in the hot tub. How do I put this politely? I like Big Caden but they should encourage him to work out more. Doesn't look healthy, at least from a European mom's perspective.

I think boys (and girls, too) this age just always look out of place...thats just the phase where all the hormons starting to get weird. rather they are chubby and have to grow into their weight or they are super skinny and can't put on weight fast enough.AbbyClare wrote:They went. He’s a preteen. Many go through a chunky phase before they mature into their adult bodies. My 11 year old is in that phase right now. Not all are rail thin like LiliaAbbyClare wrote:They went. Re: JesssFam: Crying About "Homeschool" to Pay for the Pool (Pt 144)
I dont personally have a problem with them visiting Grammy if this may be their last chance. However jesss..you are supposed to quarantine after a covid test, not go to stores and go clothes shopping for a trip you had planned for some time, the day after a covid test! She could catch it right there at the store, bring it home, affect all their kids right before they even board. I hope she didnt end up doing that.
I bet this will make Grammys year to see everyone. To me that is worth it especially with a terminal disease. As long as they do it as safe as they can.

Re: JesssFam: Crying About "Homeschool" to Pay for the Pool (Pt 144)
Haven't postet in a while, first because of this crazy year and then because I had trouble with my browser and my account.
I've been following her sporadically, but read up on this forum and was astounded how many trips she took. From what I hear in the (European) media (granted that's not a replica of how things are in the entire US) the US has it really bad with infections. I don't understand why you have to travel so much in this particular year. She has an RV for 20 grand, why isn't she using that more? That would still help her children get some fresh air and have some fun, while not being a health hazard.
I'm sitting here in our second lockdown this year, most people can't really go anywhere, because it's difficult to get visas, without quarantine, or a negative test. My family lost someone at the very beginning of the first lockdown, when even funerals where not allowed with more than five people present (except staff). We had to stand apart very far, in order for more people to even come, so most couldn't even see the ceremony, or anything. Meanwhile she travels around like it's nothing, has parties whenever she wants to and generally doesn't give a crap. She should really be more sensitive of who she's affecting with her behavior and unless she's only going by van, or RV she runs the danger of spreading things, even if she doesn't get sick.
Should she not visit her possibly dying grandma because of it? Absolutely not, I would say that's the only reason to go on a trip anywhere, but again precautions, because to die of covid while on cancer treatment must be the most terrible death I can imagine. If this was her only trip this year, sure, I would be fine with it. But the amount of times she's probably touched surfaces with her hands and then touched other surfaces, who knows how much she spread the virus. I don't see her using disinfectant for more than 5 seconds, while it should be wet on your hands for a minimum of 15 seconds, better 30.

Re: JesssFam: Crying About
Honestly, her talking about "paying" her children is ridiculous and just her way of circumventing any future accusations of child labour. Family vloggers know, that it's them next, when it comes to ad revenue and sponsorships and if YT ever decides to put down their foot on this footage, they will do it over night, That's why she has the Just Jess channel, that's why her Jess' Kids channel didn't grow.Sunshineee9 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 2:33 pmLaws about child workers don't apply to YouTube. It's a huge loophole in child work laws.MiloandMax1 wrote:Less than a year ago though (right before a vacation) she said that she doesn't pay her kids she gives them experiences (Hawaii, Disneyland, etc). So I think a lot of her "paying" them has to do with some laws that have been talked about child workers. Which makes sense she has a lawyer.thepinkumbrella wrote: ↑Wed Nov 18, 2020 7:56 am Idk yall, I am glad she's putting money aside for her kids. We can't prove her motivation for doing it (tax breaks) but I respect her a lot more for realizing they are earning with her. I think it would be much worse if she pocketed everything and thought nothing of their futures.

She can't "pay" her children in reality, because her children would need to consent to that agreement, which they can't, since they need a parent or guardian to agree for them. When she's the employer and the parent, it's idiotic to talk about "paying" your children. You pay them as much as you want. Normally you would need a contract, that protects childrens rights to money and free time and privacy (!!!). In there it says you can only put x-amount of work time on a child, get them a clause to get out of the contract, if they want out and you pay them per hour/day/... x-amount of money.
Unless she waves those documents in front of the camera 7 times, I call BS.
