My son with DS is completely non verbal and we knew he had acid reflux from the time he was born. He still gets acid reflux when he isn't feeling well or has ate to much. Something we don't have to worry about with Eve because we have seen what they consider a meal.

So most of you from outside of the US probably have heard that US medical coverage is an absolute for-profit shit show. We do not have universal healthcare.
We have friends and relatives who live in the USA and of course we have heard about the high health care premiums Americans have to pay.

We are fortunate in the UK to have our NHS. But to say its for free really isn't true. The money comes from our Income Tax for those in work. You pay more if you are a high earner. We never have to worry about medical care we all receive the same. You can top up with private insurance which means you will get to see a consultant much quicker. There is a payment for medicines but your exempt under 18 or over 65. or if you are on benefits, There are some treatments that the NHS won't pay for so people usually fund raise

Rather than waste that money on that thrifting crap they should take cover for those kids, its not fair. What a twisted pair they are
I did not call what other countries have “free healthcare”. I stated that we do not have universal healthcare in the US, then went on to explain what my family pays towards our private insurance ($19,200/year). We also pay taxes in towards low income insurance. So for instance, low income families, senior citizens, and some people with disabilities qualify for federal run health care programs that are probably more similar to what universal healthcare is. They have very small or no co-pays, but strict limits on what it can be used for. Anyone who works has money deducted from every paycheck to cover that, as well.

So really, people who work in the US pay for their own insurance, and the insurance of others. Our insurance programs is extremely hard to explain, because it differs greatly for every American. What we pay is typically a “choice” to a certain point. We are required to have insurance or we are fined, but the choices are greatly limited to what our employers offer, or what we can afford to purchase out of pocket.

Insurance provided by employers is usually better because they get quantity discounts (so, if they are buying 200 policies vs 1, they get a cheaper premium price per policy, over what that person buying a single policy gets). The downside is you are limited to what your employer is willing to provide.

So as an example, my husband works for an office that is tech based. Nearly every employee stares at a computer screen for 8 hours a day. It wasn’t until 2 years ago that they started to include vision insurance. It just flat out was not offered, so 100% of my families vision needs were out of pocket, despite paying nearly $20,000 a year just to HAVE the insurance. I have extremely bad vision. The very lowest end lenses in my prescription is usually around $200, but if I don’t want them super thick, and want scratch protection, and anti-glare, and nice frames, I wind up spending $500-800 on a pair of glasses.

Now that they are offering vision as an add on, I pay about $200 for the same pair.

Like I said- it’s really hard to explain just how bad it is to people who have never had to worry about IF they can afford to go to a doctor, and IF their health care problem might even be covered. If you have bad insurance and get diagnosed with cancer, you can wind up losing everything, and still owe hundreds of thousands of dollars for treatment. A cancer diagnosis in the US is a death sentence for probably 60% of the people who get it, because they have no way to pay for treatment.

I was thinking about this, when you were talking about health insurance the other day.
Don’t get me wrong, there are many problems in our health system in the UK, but I can’t imagine what it must be like to have to live with the constant worry of paying for health care.
I suppose the correct description for our health care is, that it’s free at the point of delivery. However, even though our taxes contribute to paying for health care, you don’t really notice because it was never your money in the first place. Our taxes, in most cases, are deducted at source, so you never actually have the money.
My husband was just talking about this because he was looking at his annual tax summary. He’s probably a middle earner and the portion that went to his taxes for health care last year was about £2500- but it was £2500 that he never had in his hand because it’s deducted at source.
I had a subarachnoid haemorrhage two years ago from a ruptured cerebral aneurysm. I had pretty intense intervention in A and E (ER) where I was immediately ventilated. I was in ICU for 10 days where I had specialist medical and nursing care. I had endovascular coiling of the aneurysm which in itself involved an anaesthetist, a consultant neuroradiologist, a consultant neurosurgeon and other medical staff, as well as nursing staff. I had cardiac and respiratory complications which meant I was referred to a cardiology consultant and respiratory consultant. I had many other people involved with my care in ICU.
I then spent over two weeks on the neurosurgery Ward.
I had numerous CT scans, MRIs, physio therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy etc.
I can only imagine what that would have cost in the US. All of it in the UK was essentially free - at the point of delivery. The amount are family pay in annual tax contributions wouldn’t even begin to cover that one incident - not to mention the specialist follow-up care.
I am in Northern Ireland and here, we all get free prescriptions too. The only thing adults pay for is dental and eye care, really.
Those on low income get some assistance.
I can’t imagine the burden of health care in the US. It must be such a worry.
The Knorpps don’t seem to even consider it a priority though. They just seem to live in hope that they don’t need it - or...they just ignore it, when they do. I mean, of course Megan gets her skin cancer follow-ups. Pearl, Esther, Eve, Jude - they don’t seem to matter. Image

i bet the thrift store staff just laugh when they see her..."a sucker is born every minute" with her "vast knowledge" of antiques she doesn't realize that most of the crap dumped there is just that crap. i mean really "i have a mid 18th century what ever worth hundreds and instead of keeping it i'm just going to dump it at the thrift store so some needy person can use it" usually happens. and she is in there so often. now dragging the wanna be "let's make tools in the driveway and play with fire and electricity and water" child. wonder why he has been chosen to be dragged along lately. doesn't look like he cares at all. wonder if things re not right in paradise?

the neighbors will love this monstrosity of a house in their area and i'm sure they will keep the warehouse as well because you know they aren't going to give up extra space for all that crap. it's getting tiring listening and watching to all of it. poor daniel must never call because he's never featured either. such a frigging train wreck.

I am sorry if you thought I meant you personally said Health Care is Free in the UK. what I tried to explain was that many people from abroad are under the impression that the NHS is free, hence we have lots of foreigners coming to the UK for treatment.

Holiday Insurance can be very expensive for Brits if we travel to the USA, especially if you have underlying health conditions. We do have a brilliant Health Service but people do take advantage of it

Lets be honest very few people give away anything valuable unless by mistake. Megan is a fool if she thinks she's found a hidden gem.

Theyre probably dragging the child around in case he burns the house down, or Esther can't cope with him as well as the other kids.

I picked up on the fact that Mike said Daniel calls early in the morning, probably while theyre snoring their heads off. He also said Daniel was on the phone to Esther. Wouldnt it be wonderful if they both spoke Chinese and M & M couldnt understand the conversation

I can't get over everyone's faces right before they drove off for the beach. It looked like everyone was miserable and this was the last place they wanted to be. LOL. Seems like the cousin didn't want to be there either. Jeez.

Prodding at and picking up a dead bird in your bare hands in the name of homeschool while the rain tries to blow you off the beach. What a super trip.

And of course they went to an indoor, sit down restaurant after travelling in from another town with 12 people, 3 of whom had just flown in. In my state flying in from any other state and not quarantining, worse going to a restaurant, is punishable by up to $10,000.

I was not at all surprised… But super incredibly annoyed to see how irresponsible they are. Even hugging people directly off an airplane… I just can't get over it. We're in a pandemic here people. I've barely left my house for months.

By the end of the video, she can’t even pretend she’s having fun. What is it she can’t deal with? Someone else having a pretty house? Spending time with family? Mike paying attention to his parents and not her?
Why were they sitting in there keeping Jude awake? Wouldn’t it be manners to spend time with his parents?

It just goes to show their ignorance, narcissism, and privilege. The baptism could have been rescheduled, and honestly should have been. These people act so holy and religious, but they don't give a shit about anyone else. If you can't see that you are an idiot. They have been traveling and going out unnecessarily during this whole pandemic, while most of us are staying home trying to keep ourselves and our families safe. These two just do whatever the fuck they want with no consideration for others. Millions of people infected worldwide, and hundreds of thousands dead, and we are just starting to enter the worst of the situation. Youtube should NOT be posting videos of people blatantly disregarding the health and safety of the world!!! SHAME ON ALL OF THEM!!
Megan is really fucking dumb and disrespectful to be messing with a dead pelican. Especially with her bare hands near children. Does she not understand where any of the many coronavirus come from? Animals!!!
I'm not a violent person, but I would punch her right in the face. She doesn't care about ANYONE else, including her kids.
I'm still living my life, but from home and safely. I can wait patiently to see friends and family in the future, rather then to see them now, and possibly for the last time. If people were using common sense the last year we wouldn't be in the situation that our country is in.

next she will want a beach house so she can [play with all the dead creatures. wonder if they at least washed their hands before eating. nothing sounds better then the smell of dead bird and fried fish. everyone looked so excited to go on this adventure. not! a rainy, cold beachfront in january..unless you really love beaches probably the worst place to visit..sure she says some museums are open but why go there! and all of a sudden there is a wedding photo we all must notice in their bedroom..

it's getting so old...pearl just seems to be shrinking and no one seems to care. the kids are a train wreck and yet it's all about megan and mike...gotta have that date night can't buy enough food to last more then a few days so they must go out again.

i bet she's ticked that free beach house is so nice...not what she was expecting. so nice and light and ooohhh i want a beach house now

Oh I think Mike was in a state of disbelief when she picked it up and the way he told her to wash her hands... it was like a parent having to tell a child, and it was just seen as normal? Embarrassing. One of the biggest hints I've seen that she's not well.

To be honest, I was so upset about the bird.
It might be just a dead bird but it was a living, sentient creature which deserves to be treated with respect and afforded dignity.
It died on that beach and it did not deserve to be poked at with a stick and held up like a puppet on a string, for everyone to examine.
I’m terrified of birds - properly phobic - but pelicans are beautiful creatures. It should have been left in peace.
What is wrong with her? What grown up woman would do that?

There is seriously something wrong with this woman. She makes me laugh so much with her lack of knowledge about antiques. But walks around as though she's an expert. Megan needs to grow up all those silly antics she does, the dancing around, face pulling and she must be 40+. It must be embarassing for her kids. I wouldn't want to be seen out with her if she was my mum
