I get what she means. I've heard stuff like that before too..a relationship between intelligence and autism. To be specific, a link between prodigies and autism. But wih kaden I definitely don't see any behavior that would lead me to believe he's a future Einstein lol.

I know what she means. One of my friends with autism ended up inventing a new machine to harvest saffron for his masters degree project. He is also an electrical engineer.

My son has SPD and ADHD and we thought autism at firar so i have read tons of books on the subject and know a lot of people with autism. Most of them are computer programmers, engineers. Etc. Ben Franklin and Einstein were most likely on the spectrum but they didn't have a name for it then.

I am aware of what autism is. I am an RN, and have worked with children on the spectrum.

Some kids with with autism have unique abilities. That does not translate to "most inventors and engineers have autism". There is no professional body made up mostly of people who have autism. You can't really think that?

I realise people may jump down my throat for this because I'm not a doctor and I can't diagnose someone through the few moments of their life that I see on YouTube, but something has seemed off about Kaden to me for a long time now. Yes he might just be a sensitive kid, but his complete obsession with monster trucks, his squeaky high pitched voice, his slow language development, his general shyness, his tantrums, and now the thing he does with his ears where he tucks the top into the ear hole all make me wonder if he is on the autism spectrum. I'm not saying this in a negative way, it's just something I've been curious about for a while. The ear thing might be because he's got sensory overload from all the noise in the house and can't deal with it. I've never seen a kid do that before.

He may just be a sensitive little boy who has been through a lot, but he does show a lot of signs that point in that direction, so I don't think it's unfair to give it some consideration.

My sister has severe dyspraxia and she would cover her ears in movies and with other noises a lot when she was a kid and her speech was also very delayed, maybe it's that?

Overall, is there some red flags? Yes. If we see them, Jess must, but her choice to be ignorant, if she so chooses, is hers to live with. But unless someone here is a certified professional, lets stop throwing around "He has autism" and try saying it like 'I see autistic traits/symptoms."

From what I've seen I don't think he is on the autism spectrum However, he could very well have a sensory processing disorder which can present similarly and can be very hard to diagnose. She does take them to check ups so I believe he would have (or maybe has) been tested for autism if the doctor saw fit. SPDs, however, often go undiagnosed.

It's mean to say, but of all her kids, he's the one that I think would annoy me the most. :S

Also, I'd bet money those kids had taco hell for lunch too and she just didn't show it because she knew she'd get hate...if Im remembering correctly, she didn't show lunch, did she?

She has gained weight but I bet she has always eaten crap. The only difference is she isn't 18 any more and her metabolism is catching up with her, plus as far as I know she no longer dances. I don't think she looks bad or overweight but I really doubt she gained this weight from the IUD like she tries to claim. Sorry, but by the time you reach your mid 20's, if you're not exercising, pancakes, taco bell, butter and ice cream does not a hot body make.

Agree... Hate when everyone starts diagnosing on here. Seems like any time a child of a yt mom is even SOMEWHAT delayed or doesn't have perfect speech, they 'must have autism'. The kid is 3! Children have very different personalities, and some kids are just plain weird.
