Re: 8 Passengers: Resident Evil / Part Three
I think the only thing on Ruby's mind is getting that bigger house and hence the race for YT$. The decision to "homeschool" Russell was only to have two 'toddlers' at home for footage. We have seen NOTHING significant of her brilliant homeschooling abilities ~ which would have been realistic footage of their day (if she was homeschooling).
I have to remind myself when I am watching her that she is only thirty something ~ she looks, speaks and behaves like she is fifty something (and playing it up to the camera doesn't make her any younger in spirit and mind). She is seriously so 'disconnected' from her kids on so many levels.

Im not sure Ruby finished University and if she had we would hear more about it, it's vague anyways. As I recall from their earlier vlogs is that she wished that she had finished cause her and Kevin met and married within that year and she was only 18. You should at least be 20 years when you get your bachelor degree,in my country anyways as it takes 3 years to finish and Ruby only studied untill she met Kevin. Also remember, she didn't even go to University to have a degree, she went to find a husband and once she did, school became unimportant. Instead she started focusing on being a housewife like her mum, as she had always dreamt of.
Ruby is also the only one of her siblings that I've never heard, had a job, even Ellie has worked. If Ruby ever worked then I've missed it...

Re: 8 Passengers: Resident Evil / Part Three
Nobody said she needed to be beat down. But being a dick about her teammates and allowing it to be postedon the web won't help. She needs proper parenting because in a few years time she's going to realise one way or another that the world doesn't care about anyone and nobody is special, no matter what you think about yourself. Being confident in yourself is a wonderful thing, but there are different kinds of confidence. She's a teenager and I think she should be allowed to make mistakes and learn from them but if you're going to have kids you may as well try to help them a little.fossilfinger wrote:I used to be kind of like that. Then I got beat down (emotionally) by my parents, and I did a complete 180. I stopped talking to people because my parents told me I was fundamentally offensive to people and should let everyone walk all over me. They told me people didn't like me because of my looks, because of my personality, basically because of everything that made me me, and that I should not be myself, but aspire to be someone else. Now I have zero social skills, zero self-esteem, and lots of anxiety. The trick is helping a kid keep their confidence while also teaching them empathy. I would rather see an over-confident teenager than one who was completely destroyed like I was. What Shari needs is gentle guidance and encouragement to step up as a leader, using the personality traits she has. Unfortunately, when a parent is too obsessed with outward performance rather than developing integrity, that is very difficult.actuallydear wrote:We all know a kid like Shari. Arrogant and filled with superiority. They don't ever change.SweetAsANutMate wrote:If Shari's parents don't give her a reality check now, she'll definitely get one from her peers when she starts high school. Especially if she continues with the nastiness in ghe vlogs.
And her mum definitely needs to edit any snide remarks about her peers out of videos.

Oh, yeah. I was EVIL at 13. Fortunately, my mom had already been through it a couple of times with my sisters and wasn't fazed. I would be horribly embarrassed if the things I said then got put on YouTube for half a million people to see.Kjr123 wrote:I definitely think most of what's frustrating about shari is her age, it's a tough age. Ruby needs to put the camera down and parent...
I wouldn't have liked my self at that age. And I wouldn't even want to know what people would have said about me. And luckily my mom didn't plaster my attitude all over youtube.

Re: 8 Passengers: Resident Evil / Part Three
Going back to Ruby and Kevin's night at the hotel together answering questions, one viewer asked how they knew they were meant to be together. Kevin matter of factly stated that they didn't and he didn't really believe, I am paraphrasing, in some cosmic connection. Then Ruby volunteered that the truth is they both could have married someone else and would've been perfectly happy. Kevin wrapped it up by saying that they both made a conscious choice to serve each other. And while I suspect they are pretty realistic to a point, I've never heard of marriage talked about in this way. Is this news to anyone else?
OT: I couldn't help but notice that the girls are no longer sharing beds, but now have bunk beds. How and when did this come to pass? Is Sherry still sharing a room with Evil? And, *Gasp*, Chad now has proper bedding!

I still felt bad for Julie when she was getting her ears pierced, because she was trying so hard not to cry in front of her siblings.. she is just too sweet
Re: 8 Passengers: Resident Evil / Part Three
Their marriage has as much love and affection as a business transaction.
The viewers begged Ruby to get Shari a bunk bed.
And then she got a sponsorship for a mattress and that's how she got the bunk bed for Julie, just to make a video highlighting the mattress.

I get the feeling they don't like each other but choose to stick together for their religion. It's really telling she would say they don't have a feeling they're meant to be together, because isn't that a huge part of Mormonism? You meet someone and pray, getting a testimony from God that you're supposed to be together, and then you get married. They seem miserable.

yeah the don't really seem in love with each other rather just going with the flow with their relationship is it because they've been married so long and have so many children they're just not sooo in love as they might have been at the start of their marriage?Sarai wrote:I get the feeling they don't like each other but choose to stick together for their religion. The lady that said DAM is a nasty word put JERK on the thumbnail!?
Yes, your kids work harder than their peers, you are the perfect family, wait for the award in the mail...
Why did she just put lipstick on halfway through the vlog?

I think she is a pretty good teen too. I actually think she'll go onto college and break the Griffith mold and work in her chosen career vs stay at home mom like her mom/aunts/grandmother.seriously7 wrote:RecklessDisregard wrote:
I still think Shari's a good kid, and I'd rather see her be a little overconfident than see her torn down. I'm also kind of uncomfortable discussing her perceived flaws, as she is definitely old enough to Google herself or her mom and end up here. (My 13 yr old self definitely would have.) It's one thing to criticize adults, and some of them need to hear what is said here instead of living in an echo chamber full of endless compliments (cough cough, Ellie). Ruby has made a dangerous decision with making her children public figures. It is much different to vlog toddlers than it is to vlog teenagers. Nonetheless, I wouldn't want to be the one responsible for breaking her self-esteem.
Yeah you're right, I plan leave all critical comments for the adults only going into the new year, the kids should be off limits, especially teens.

They really hit the jackpot with views subscribers from 27,000 to well over 400,000.

Earlier vlog Ruby said she has body order. I can't believe she said that and can't prevent this...weird.

Re: 8 Passengers: Resident Evil / Part Three
I am new to this site, and new to the concept of vlogging in general. I had no idea all these family vlogs even existed on youtube until a couple of months ago. I have been fascinated by 8 Passengers mostly, but also Bonnie and E&J, not because I think they're all fantastic but because I can't quite believe that people put their lives on the internet like this! I've been reading the posts on this forum and have a few thoughts about Ruby and family. And just to 'appear' cutesy and clever, I've made them all d words...
1. Their diet- Everything is either candy or it's beige. Sometimes there is a carrot or two. I never see anything green. Particularly appealing was the dinner involving some kind of meat (chicken maybe), some kind of potato or something, and watermelon (presumably as the 'veggie' stand-in) on the same plate.
2. Their dog- One time I got excited because she was in the kitchen, but then of course the scene shifted immediately to Eve escorting her from the kitchen back to her Spot in the Hall.
3. Thelr daughters- People are often commenting on how badly behaved Eve is and how unloved Julie seems. Honestly I don't really see that. Maybe I'm naive? I really like all the kids, and find them all rather sweet.
4. Their dogma- I can't get into the LDS stuff. I think it's because the church has a history of racism, discrimination and homophobia that I can't condone. I haven't seen anything particularly offensive from them, though.
5. The drama- Honestly I just needed a 'd' word, but it's more about the stuff that's so clearly dramatized for youtube. Ruby giving a speech about how she cares for her kids when they're sick, or how they should all line up for a treat, or how they're all going to put their boots on now, or whatever, just seems so patronizing to the Franke kids but also to the viewers. Ugh.
6. Guns. It doesn't start with d. but boy do I hate them! The Christmas the boys opened toy guns and the women all opened real guns made me very depressed. Depressed. D.

Hi natalka welcome to the forum.
Regarding number 4: https://youtu.be/D-rkpGNhth4
They are clearly homophones, just like the church told them to be.

Re: 8 Passengers: Resident Evil / Part Three
I don't know if this has been addressed (I caught on two weeks ago that Ruby is Ellie's sister lol) but how come Ruby and her kids never hang out with Ellie and Bonnie? I notice that Ellie and Bonnie's kids hang out a lot. Dont they all live in the same area?
I watch Ruby's channel on and off but I never picked on that they were related until recently and now that I have I feel stupid for not noticing it before lol
