I think the fact that they are making a trip out of dropping off gifts for events that happened over a week ago at this point is another indication that things aren't great with them. Why wouldn't they do something for Corbin's birthday sooner, like a nice dinner or something? They both stayed in town for Christmas and New Year, why haven't they seen each other since before the holidays? It definitely sounds like at least one couple is making it a point to take a step back for whatever reason. Kelsey and Corbin spent Christmas, his birthday, and New Year's Eve seemingly completely alone. So odd.

When was the last time we saw them together?? It's sad really, Kelsey and Missy have been friends FOREVER, like REAL friends, one of the only REAL friends she has/had. Working for the Lannings must really be fucking hell. They have managed to run off every friend they have after they hired them. I would love to be a fly on the wall in that house sometimes.

I mean, the Johnson’s managed to work for them for well over a year before they stopped. And that may have just been because they were finally successful enough to quit.

I think Corbin just has an AWFUL work ethic and zero drive. So either Bryan fired him, or Corbin quit when he decided he was over it.

Are they really talking about homesteading? Bc if they were serious about it and actually DID it, i would watch the hell out of that channel. I don't have the balls to try it myself, but i wish i did. I respect the hell out of anyone who really lives that lifestyle and it seems like it would be an amazing life to live. I highly doubt these two can manage it, but i would for sure be watching if they decided to be serious about it and try it. Appalachia is cheap living, don't they have family in that neck of the woods??

Homesteading???! That requires real work and real skills. They can't even cook and I've never seen them grow anything!! Do they even have a plant? Corbin doesn't even know how to use a grill!! They went cabin camping and left early because of BUGS! Who are they kidding???

They really do seem clueless about buying a house. How on EARTH would they even qualify for a mortgage with inconsistent YT as their income??? Have they saved up for a downpayment?

Watching these two morons "fix up" a house and attempt homesteading would be sort of hilarious. They get these wacko pipedreams and then half-ass them and give up.

I hope they go to an actual financial institution and get advice on how to save for buying a home. Unless they're absolutely making bank right now, I don't know how they could save up a sizable down payment by the end of the year when they're just starting to consider it now.

As a lot of people have already pointed out in the comments, it's not very smart to go straight to buying a house out of state without living somewhere and seeing if you actually want to commit to it. They were so excited about moving to So-Cal and after four months they are already looking at leaving. If they were moving back to Oregon it might be understandable, but it seems like that part of their life is past them, and they're probably not going to move back to Idaho, either. So they're going to blindly buy a house in a place they're almost completely unfamiliar with and with a history of being bored after living somewhere for only a handful of months. Makes a lot of sense.

I thought it came through loud and clear from that segment that Kelsey has her heart set on owning a home by the end of the year, and she admits that she has a one track mind. They'll find a way to do it, and it most likely won't be a good financial move. First, I highly doubt that they'll actually stay put in this next home. If you want to avoid losing money or breaking even on the home buying process, you usually have to be willing to stay put for 5-7 years. These two can't stay anywhere for a year before they're looking for greener pastures.

Second, it is possible to get into a home with very little down and I have a felling that's what they'll do, plus buy in an inexpensive real estate market. That makes it a less than stellar investment, because so much of your monthly mortgage payment will be going towards interest instead of principal and you'll have very little equity in the home. It's really not all that different from renting at that point, especially if you turn around and sell in a few years. They're probably thinking, "Wow, we can get a mortgage with only 5% down in a market where homes are selling for less than $250K!" And they're not looking at the bigger picture. They'll have all of the expenses of home ownership without having actual equity in the house. When the tub won't drain or the garage door breaks, they won't be able to call the landlord. They'll be responsible for all repairs, but their ownership share will be in the single digits. It's like renting from the bank without the benefit of being able to call the landlord when something breaks.

This is just a box that they want to check off without stopping to think if it really makes sense. They're clearly very envious of the financial success that their friends have experienced, and I think buying a house is something that they think is expected of them so that they can be perceived as keeping up with other people their age. Except other people their age have worked hard since college to establish themselves, and Kelsey and Corbin just bounce from one fantasy to the next with no real work ethic or forethought.

I think this is 100% the truth! They want it to appear they are doing great financially, but their channel isn't doing well at all. I also think they still have a lot of debt - CCs, student loans, car payments, etc.

I wonder if jealousy is straining their relationship with DBs. Can't be easy to be the "poor" friends to idiot multi-millionaires.

It seems so odd to me that they don't explore the area more. They just moved there, but they prefer to sit at home all the time. So much for being "wanderers"!! I know they are like 2 hours from LA, but there must be something interesting around their area to see/do - heck, they "say" they like adventures, so why not a road trip to Baja?? They teased everyone by getting June a passport, then they did nothing.

They're only an hour from San Diego. There's lots to do. There's the Zoo, the Safari Park, Balboa Park, Coronado, lots. You said just what I was thinking-- aren't they supposed to be "adventurers"? I think that is as much a put on act as their crunchy hipster act.
