I have to agree. emilia is beautiful tbh. I love her little smiles and I want that baby to be happy. it has the right to. she couldn't choose her idiot parents. but that's not her fault.SallyCinnamon wrote:Aww, come on now She's a baby. Best I could tell, she must have fallen towards the back of the sofa ( the other direction she would have fallen off Then she must have struggled awhile and worked her way down, then struggled some more-twisting her body around trying to free her head so that she could breath Anna didn't even stop what she was doing in the kitchen as far as I can tell...I stopped watching after that.SallyCinnamon wrote:Loads of little things pissed me off in this video, the constant Peppa Pig on the TV (why sit your baby in front of cartoons all day when they're not even interested yet?), heating a glass jar on flames - Jofus is lucky it didn't shatter and fly about everywhere (can you imagine if he'd been holding Emilia?), Anna saying that the dogs aren't good at 'restraint' - that's what training is for. She said she didn't even know how long the dog was on the playmat for!
But Emilia on the sofa with her parents oblivious to her is terrible! You could tell from her cries that she was distressed and struggling. I wonder if they left her sat up on the sofa and she fell face first into that cushion? Her face looked hot, thank God she had enough strength to pull her head back, but then her whole body was twisted round. And Jofus just laughed??? How can they be that careless?! They are both home full time but they still manage to neglect her. They don't deserve her.
I found this article regarding baby swings:dolliedays wrote:UGH.. Anna even admits that they leave her laying on the floor and they were "chatting and not really paying close attention to her" as she laughs. It's easier to train a dog not to do something by paying attention BEFORE they do it than repremanding them AFTER. She even says "Emelia can't speak..so she can be like MOM ..DAD..HELP!" EXACTLY!! But what she can do is cry....and then you ignore her. When she CAN talk and say MOM! DAD! It will be the same, they will ignore that too.
I like to look at the clock sometimes throughought the video..that child is clearly in the swing atleast 3 hrs a day if not more.
Thank God Emilia has a strong survival instinct, that's going to come in handydolliedays wrote: Best I could tell, she must have fallen towards the back of the sofa ( the other direction she would have fallen off Then she must have struggled awhile and worked her way down, then struggled some more-twisting her body around trying to free her head so that she could breath Anna didn't even stop what she was doing in the kitchen as far as I can tell...I stopped watching after that.
SMH at the people saying she's lucky because she has two parents that watch her 24/7 and that some moms have to go back to work so SURELY Emelia is better off than them. I say a big NO to that- My son went to daycare, and they have cameras there and if a daycare worker EVER let anything like this happen to a baby they would be immediately fired, the place could even get shut down because putting an infant in danger even for a split second is not okay. I wish people that say its "their baby they can do what they want" would imagine-What if it was YOUR baby they were babysitting and they did this?? Puts things in perspective for anyone with a brain!

http://www.modernmom.com/article/how-lo ... baby-swing
It states:
Limit the time your baby spends in the swing. Consumer Reports recommends leaving your baby in the swing for no more than 30 minutes. Heidi Murkoff, the author of "What to Expect the First Year," also recommends removing your baby from the swing after 30 minutes. She also suggests limiting the use of the swing to two 30-minute sessions per day.
That means NO MORE THAN ONE HOUR PER DAY TOTAL. Three hours is waaaay too long for a baby to be in the swing, even if it's in separate sessions.
Babies who are left in swings for long periods of time often miss out on interaction with their parents. While the motion of the swing is soothing, the baby cannot hear her mother's voice or see her face. A sling or other baby-wearing device, on the other hand, provides motion and allows your baby the comfort of being able to see and hear you.
No Anna, the swing is not a substitute for the attention Emilia could be getting from the both of you. She is missing out on crucial interaction with the both of you by being in the swing so often. Talking to her while she swings doesn't count.
A baby in a swing cannot practice crawling and sometimes, the motion of the swing is strong enough to even prevent a baby from being able to lift his head. This can delay motor development.
This is why Emilia is four months old and can barely lift her head while on her tummy. The swing has prevented her from doing so and now she is delayed in that motor skill.
Some babies actually become dizzy from being in baby swings, warns Consumer Reports. Finally, babies who get used to the rocking motion of the swing may become dependent on that motion in order to fall asleep. When they get too old to be in the swing, these babies will not be able to fall asleep on their own and new methods to aid sleep will need to be
introduced.
A&J are making Emilia become dependent upon the swing for sleep since she's in there so much. It's going to bite them in the a** when Emilia has outgrown the swing but does not know how to nap without it.
