I guess they think it is ok to go out in public when you have covid unless this was filmed before they got covid. Also everyone was wearing masks for once which never happens. I wonder what happened to Shari and Chad being in the video unless they were punished for not taking part in ruby's stupid homeschooling game. Also at the end of the video she says you don't have to be smart in order to teach homeschooling which i found funny as she definitely isn't smart or they would be learning more age appropriate things and be at the correct grading level.

it also shows once more that filming is the only thing that counts in that family. While kids go without beds and a cozy age appropriate bedroom for months, Ruby has no problem to spend thousands of dollars on the homeschool room, because it will most probably the main room to film in for the coming months. The same absurd thing happened before when none of the kids had any furniture, but Shari got the nice painted wall plus matching chairs and a table to film her vlogs, while still not having a bed. It is sick.mix10 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2020 8:55 am The school room does look nice and I am glad the kids have a nice area like that. Though I can’t help noticing how it once again highlights how much of a bubble they live in. They are very fortunate to be able to buy all of that furniture and all those new supplies. So many families right now are struggling to juggle working with remote learning and Ruby just seems like she is off in la la land pretending to be a teacher.

"Filming is the only thing that counts in that family." So true. And specifically filming plus it being something Ruby cares about or wants to do. Decorating each of the kids rooms would actually make interesting videos that would probably get plenty of views. But Ruby doesn't really care or get much gratification out of it like she does with the school room. If she makes a school room she feels like an important, homeschooling mother in some way. She can portray an image of herself that she wants. So it really does come back to her narcissism. The channel is ultimately all for Ruby.LilaRose wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 6:15 amit also shows once more that filming is the only thing that counts in that family. Re: 8 Passengers: No beds, no food, but mom loves motherhood! | Part 18
In today's vlog Abby was using her spelling book for sketching. I guess it's not a big deal if she just took it along to try to draw from it when she's not using it for spelling. But it just kind of made me wonder if Ruby is just handing her kids all sorts of materials and not really paying attention to if they're using them correctly or for the right purposes. I also can't believe her spiel at the end of the vlog that you don't have to be smart to homeschool. I, mean, I'm proud of her for admitting she's not smart, especially after letting viewers watch her confuse a cell with an atom and have to have her kids teach her everything in the museum instead of the other way around. Um, but, I think you kind of do have to be smart to homeschool. How is she going to proofread her kids work if she herself doesn't know proper spelling or grammar usage? How is she suppose to teach her kids math if she doesn't know how to use a multiplication table? How is she suppose to help her kids with science when she doesn't know the difference between an atom and a cell? This is why her kids are probably going to use their spelling books for drawing and use their flashcards as coasters or something, because if they get confused or stuck, what do they do? Take it to their mother who is less intelligent than them for help?

In their instagram story Ruby said she has to bribe eve with M&Ms to get her to sit for Ruby reading her a story. Eve claims that she can't sit still because of a stuffy nose but I think that is a excuse of some sort. For each page Eve watches Ruby read she gets 1 M&Ms and 2 for each page she reads to Ruby. I don't think Eve has any desire to hear a story read by Ruby and that is why she has to be bribed to read the book. I also don't think that Eve likes being told what to do by Ruby either.

Eve is way too old for this, Ruby is clueless about her child. Eve really knows how to manipulate.boychik0830 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 6:43 am In their instagram story Ruby said she has to bribe eve with M&Ms to get her to sit for Ruby reading her a story. Ha! So much for Ruby being this invigorating powerful homeschooling mom whose children are just bursting with the joy of learning because she inspires them so much. If Eve requires her mom giving her a piece of candy to literally just sit there and pretend to be interested while mom reads her a page, I wonder what bribes she demands to do actual homework. I might offer a child a piece of candy or to pick out a treat when they get ALL of their homework done for the day. But a piece of candy for each page? Nope. That kid is going to put up a fight over even the simplest of homework tasks after realizing mom will give her candy if she does so.Happy+Charlie wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 6:58 amEve is way too old for this, Ruby is clueless about her child. Eve is much smarter than Ruby, and Ruby is too dumb to know it. I didn't watch the insta-story so I'm not sure what Ruby said about it, but I bet she shared it so that people could see how great she is as a mom to come up with this encouraging idea, when all it really does is show how incapable she really is. Ruby is not going to be a victim mom, but she'll play a clueless mom every day.rulatows000 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 10:40 amHa! Interesting video about vloggers and "Emotional Clickbaiting", but take a look at who is featured in the thumbnail

This was a google link so perhaps this works. I should correct this Dr.Ryan is fourth-year medical student who will focus on psychiatry.
Otherwise I searched [email protected] • Ryan Luna
https://www.tiktok.com/@doctor.ryan?lang=en
He is seeing a lot of views and comments that lead me to think this board isn't the only ones that question children on family vlogs.

I can't believe that ruby got another sponsorship on the video. I'm surprised that companies want to do business with her. She also got everyone to say that they liked doing homeschool but I'm not sure if they like it. She also said they will be homeschooling until graduation which means the kids won't get a real education and won't be able to do well in college. She also talked about how to make sure everyone is learning age appropriate things in homeschool which I found funny as she doesn't teach the kids age appropriate things and does a one size fits all approach. She also said she is going down to three videos a week so she has more time to homeschool and doing more videos where she is talking to us directly instead of full vlogs so she can get several done each day.

She admitted they've been doing it for only 2 weeks and now she has made up her mind forever? Isn't Eve in first grade? That's 12 years Ruby! She could barely take her kids to sports when they were full time in school bc it exhausted her so much. She is going to feel ragged by Christmas. I guarantee they will all be back in "real" school.boychik0830 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 02, 2020 5:38 am I can't believe that ruby got another sponsorship on the video. And she ruined what could have been a "nice" sit down Q&A by saying some naughty kids ate her peaches and she wanted to make a pie. Then she slammed the ingredients on the counter. Later she said only enough for a "teeny tiny" pie. Sheesh. She is supposed to be providing all meals and snacks, what a joke.

Ruby said she is having fun with homeschooling. The day will come, sooner rather than later, it will not be fun for Ruby, and the kids will no longer be homeschooled. Homeschooling will eventually make her a "victim mom" and she will no longer want to do it.boychik0830 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 02, 2020 5:38 am I can't believe that ruby got another sponsorship on the video. Again, how amazing Kevin is, pump up that he's an engineer/scientist. My question is, with those resources in your home, how is it your kids are behind in school, Ruby?
Ruby says the school day tends to extend because the kids continue working with their learning toys. These are the only toys they have so why would they not want to take the opportunity to continue playing with them.
Re: 8 Passengers: No beds, no food, but mom loves motherhood! | Part 18
So she is not responsible for the happiness and education of the children, but what the hell is she responsible for than. Russell's bad math is probably because he hasn't been watched over enough and now he's responsible for it himself. I am very curious about the test results if she has the guts to actually have them tested at the end of the schoolyear.
What are they going to do on all Fridays that Kevin is away and therefore cannot go on the outings. He's never at home and now all of a sudden he can help the children with their science every Friday and go on outings?

Ruby: We're going to homeschool FOREVER!
Um, no, you're going to homeschool until your kids decide they want to go back to regular school. Sure all of them said they like homeschooling now, but I'm guessing most of it was for the camera. Even if they do truly like it now, they all have a long way to go to finishing school. It is way too early to be so adamant about doing homeschool until graduation. She's just going to make those kids feel pressured to keep homeschooling so that mom will be happy. What if Abby decides she wants to go to regular school for high school next year? What if Eve wants to experience what actual school is like outside of kindergarten? What if Russell continues struggling with his math and reading and they can't meet his needs with homeschooling? You can't just decide today that your situation and your kids perspectives and desire to homeschool will be unchanged for the next 5-12 years. I also couldn't stand when she started with her whole "my kids are responsible for their own interest in learning" bullshit. As a homeschooling mom, it IS your duty to keep your kids engaged and interested in learning. So if they're not interested in it she's just going to blame it on them and not try to change their programs around or let them go to public school? Just sounds like a scheme to brush off her kids troubles as being their own fault if they find that they don't want to do homeschooling and it no longer works for them.
Lastly, for outside help with homeschooling she lists Kevin. Um, where was Kevin when Abby was failing 7th grade math? Or when Russell couldn't even do basic addition and subtraction? Ruby has reiterated a dozen times that the only reason Kevin has been around is because of the pandemic. The second things go back to normal and the opportunity presents itself, Kevin will be high tailing it out the door, regardless if the kids need help with homeschooling or not. Also, did anyone else laugh when Ruby said that Kevin is a "world-renowned" earthquake specialist? Lol, who in the world outside of BYU and the Youtube community knows who Kevin Franke is?

How does homeschooling work in UT? Will the kids have to take a state test to show they are on target? I feel she is wasting a full year (if not more, but Ruby will soon want me time like before) of education and the ones who were already behind will be even farther behind.

I don't know why it amuses me, but TIL that Kevin has his own IMDB page. Of course his only credits are for 8 Passengers, but HTF does he rate an IMDB page?rulatows000 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 02, 2020 10:21 am Ruby: We're going to homeschool FOREVER!
