I think it is not common for girls to go on missions and even if they go, they are not allowed to go for 2 years. *irony*How is a woman going to go for 2 years to do something she believes in? And lets not bring in the thought of also going to college and finishing a degree. On their eyes, she would be loosing time to get married and have kids.... I am not religious and obviously don't agree with most of their teachings, but I can't stand when they pretend to support equality when they so obviously don't. It makes me feel sad for the young girls tbh
I think Shari is so used to the idea that she has to move out and they have put in their head so many things like "you should be grateful that we provided food and other necessities like a bed for so many years" and not to complain that to her it is normal. When in reality, in my opinion, that is just a selfish, manipulative and wrong way to teach your children to be grateful or to be independent.
Also, has anyone seen that in one of Ruby's last stories on IG they are in church clothes and there is snow on the ground but Julie is wearing sandals, what??? How is that normal? Not trying to attack Julie but why doesn't she have proper shoes for winter? Or why doesn't anyone teach her to dress appropriately for the weather?
