Re: Sam & Nia
It was really weird to me that Sam didn't want to have a TV show and yet he is obsessed with the fame?

If they're part of a TV show they don't have creative control or any say in editing. They wouldn't be able to be in charge of how they were portrayed.salviaplath wrote:It was really weird to me that Sam didn't want to have a TV show and yet he is obsessed with the fame?

Re: Sam & Nia
I generally read BuzzFeed articles with a pinch if salt...they are usually ill researched and poorly written. BUT this article was actually very informative and seemingly well researched.
Like a lot of people here I don't wish the family any ill will, and I hope they are being truthful but things just seem off. But again maybe my dislike for their characters makes me question everything they say and post

Re: Sam & Nia
I don't think the test was a false positive at all or that it needed to be verified by a doctor to make sure it wasn't a false positive. False positives are extremely rare, especially for the test line to come up that dark that quickly and especially on a pink dye test (blue dyes suck). The only thing besides pregnancy that would make it come up that dark would be a serious health condition like certain cancers. Either she was definitely pregnant or he used someone else's pee. I think Nia having been pregnant is the most plausible and I don't question the legitimacy of that positive at all nor think it needed to be confirmed by a doctor. Clinics often just use pee tests to tell you if you're pregnant or not anyway.

Re: Sam & Nia
Someone would have to be criminally insane to go to the lengths of stealing a strangers urine sample and concocting this elaborate scheme. She was most likely pregnant. Whether or not the announcement was staged is another matter. I believe Nia is genuinely upset about the loss, I think Sam is just seeing dollar signs.ProSubscriber wrote:I don't think the test was a false positive at all or that it needed to be verified by a doctor to make sure it wasn't a false positive. Re: Sam & Nia
One more possibility for everyone. Those tests pop open and there is just a strip inside. If he slipped an ovulation strip inside, then it would show up positive because they always have 2 lines. There is actually a vlogging couple that thought they were pregnant because the wife accidentally kept testing with her OPKs and didn't realize.
I've had 3 losses. I've tested my HCG up and down many times, at many different levels. For her to be around 6 weeks pregnant her HCG wouldn't turn a test that quickly.... especially when diluted. Some part of this was definitely staged IMO. She may not have known, but he's definitely lying.

Re: Sam & Nia
It can, I think it varies woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy. But I've definitely gotten big, bold, fast test lines prior to 6 weeks before. With my daughter I couldn't get a test line as dark as the control until 8 1/2 weeks. There wouldn't be a hard and fast rule like that.HelloSweetie1 wrote:For her to be around 6 weeks pregnant her HCG wouldn't turn a test that quickly...

But heavily diluted, it wouldn't turn a test as fast. I find it unlikely. Just my opinionyoumustbecrazy wrote:It can, I think it varies woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy. New to this forum! I like pregnancy announcements, so I watched the video. I have never heard of this couple before. First impression I thought it was cute. Then I was like, gross that they showed the toilet bowl with toilet paper and all inside, weird that they use paper plates at breakfast... Then I saw the miscarriage video and couldn't sit through more than 5 min of it. Definitely seemed fake and so I looked to see if they had a thread on here! I hope someone wouldn't lie about something like that, but this family almost instantly rubbed me the wrong way.

True, I thought we were talking about the second, undiluted test they showed at the end.

I was only 5 weeks when I had an early miscarriage and experienced a lot of blood and clots. I stayed in bed because the pain was really bad.youmustbecrazy wrote:Ok I have only ever had one miscarriage so maybe if any other ladies feel like sharing their experiences they can either corroborate or set me straight - but mine took days. Like a week of bleeding. I was not that Much further along than Nia but the bleeding was super heavy, like pp bleeding. The pain was incredibly intense as well, it was like mid-labour for me. I can't imagine being able to go from 'I'm pregnant' to 'my womb has emptied out' in 48 hours. Although maybe some other women have had experienced like that, I'm not sure.
Regardless, quitting your job and not telling your spouse before hand, or for a week after is super douchey. Even if you knew your spouse would support you, marriage is supposed to be a partnership.

That'll probably be a common theme in vlogs to come now that he quit his job.ferriswheel wrote:Too much Sam in today's vlog.
Re: Sam & Nia

also... could he not be assed to seriously take his son inside and change his diaper? that's so gross that he just continued filming. the first few seconds okay... but then when he started doing things like moving the trash with him... holy hell, take the kid inside and change him!

Re: Sam & Nia
What if she was pregnant, and still is pregnant. Maybe she took a test a conventional way, found out she was pregnant, tole him, and then they decided to do something off the wall to get the announcement video to go viral (switching it around and having him surprise her with the news). That video goes viral and then they decide to leverage the situation further by saying she miscarried. That would be another explanation as to why they didn't take her to the doctor (Sam's mother said on Facebook that she suggested they take her to the doctor but that he refused, saying his nursing background would be sufficient). Then, in a couple weeks to a month, they come out with another shocking announcement....she's still pregnant after all! It's a miracle! So they name the baby 'Miracle' and that video goes viral as well.ProSubscriber wrote:Either she was definitely pregnant or he used someone else's pee.
Possible?
Re: Sam & Nia
It's pretty easy to fake a pregnancy test positive. I did only a little cursory research and found that there are several substances you can use (concentrated apple juice, for example) that would result in a positive test.HelloSweetie1 wrote:For her to be around 6 weeks pregnant her HCG wouldn't turn a test that quickly.... especially when diluted.

I saw an episode of Mythbusters where Adam ate poppyseed bagels and then took a pregnancy test and it came out positive.WRW wrote:It's pretty easy to fake a pregnancy test positive. What an asshole. That's pretty irresponsible too since it could have been more serious.WRW wrote:Sam's mother said on Facebook that she suggested they take her to the doctor but that he refused, saying his nursing background would be sufficient
Re: Sam & Nia
Now that Sam has quit his job and has all this free time on his hands, maybe he can now clean up the outside of their house. It's gross. There are weeds and crap everywhere, looks so ghetto.
