I've gotten the idea that he was a penpal dad at most. But would be nice to have her make videos similar to the ones about her mom but about her dad. Maybe because he's still alive and around she doesn't feel like she can be as brutally honest as she is about her deceased mom. Which would be a red flag to me.

Yikes, that is the type of information I would not feel comfortable sharing, especially since she is relatively recently married and it's not like her marriage is guaranteed not to end. Some things should be kept between two people.

I'm not surprised in the slightest by their "the truth about our marriage" video. I cant believe they decided to conceive Cohen while going through marriage issues. That never solves any marriages. I honestly dont think Dan should have agreed to the "changes" Elle wanted to make to him like his social issues and awkwardness. Those are character traits that cant always be changed. They both went into that marriage for completely the wrong reasons and even if they say they are fine now and marriage counseling is working I wouldn't be surprised if they dont last much longer. Especially if they are unable to conceive again.

Agreed. She knew what she was getting into with Dan. You can't just change someone's personality into something that you prefer. It's like she is trying to mold him into what she wants him to be. I feel bad for him.

I’m less than 10 mins in and she’s already shaded him for being a virgin.
She’s pathetic. There’s nothing wrong with dating with intentions to get married, but she seemed to be more in it for the money.
And wanting to change literally everything about him. If you feel like you need to change that many things about him, you need to reconsider your choices.
Poor dan is such a pushover, she lets her walk alllllll over him. I feel like she still feels this way, she hates pretty much everything about him.

Ugh...this video did not make her sound good. On one hand its like ok I appreciate the honesty...but on the other hand I cannot imagine marrying someone who Im not physically and emotionally attracted to and then claiming to have PTSD from your wedding day??? My wedding day was one of the happiest days of my life. Also, I have been watching from the beginning and Dan hasn't changed other than she has changed his hair, clothing & glasses so maybe she's just learned to accept it. I don't think they will ever divorce due to religious reasons. I feel sad for Dan because I don't imagine he shares any of these same issues. Just a sad strange video...

Imagine how dan must’ve felt sitting there listening to his wife describe that she has ptsd from their wedding day, or that she wanted to change everything about him. Or that she’s been miserable for majority of their relationship but stuck it out cause she didn’t want to be forever known as a divorced woman. Poor guy.

Yes! Dan could do so much better, i.e. finding a better match for himself (not saying Elle is a bad person, just clearly the wrong person for him). Elle is very self-centered. It's okay to think these things, but I can't believe she actually verbalized them to him and now the whole Internet. She is using Dan so she can be a mom and have a nice home and not have to go out and work for herself. If she were actually about to pass out during her legal marriage, she should have known not to go through with it. I have never heard of someone who really wanted to get married having cold feet like that. It's normal to be a little nervous, but not to the extent she described where she actually felt like she was making the wrong decision as she was getting married.

Poor Dan. I think Elle still isn't really ready for a serious relationship if she is having all of these issues. Just because someone reaches an age where most other people of that age are married doesn't mean they themselves should get married. I'm surprised they've even survived their relationship this long.

The comments are even worse on Youtube its not just us "terrible ytmd trolls" who are scratching our heads over these videos. I was shocked watching part 2 to hear that basically their relationship has only been good for a month or 2? Ummmm....this video is something she could have filmed maybe 10 years from now talking about the hard years but not about how terrible their relationship was for the past 7 years and its been good now for 6 weeks woo hoo!

It almost felt like she was trying to convince herself that their marriage is going great now. I don't see their marriage lasting. She will never be happy with the person that Dan ultimately is. They sure as hell should hold off on having another baby.
