Other Americans who buy insurance directly without any employer or government subsidies will pay anywhere from $200 to $1300/month depending on age /tobacco usage. I pay for myself $1100/month.

Holy shit! $1100 a month is literally my rent! Thankfully we qualify for the government insurance that has low copays and my husband is insured through work because idk who can afford that. That’s insane.

Lilia was a really cute toddler, so I bet she's just going through an awkward stage. Reaaaally awkward, but a lot of her awkwardness is probably temporary. Once she gets braces and starts eating better, a lot of her problems will go away. I bet by the time she's 16 she looks anywhere from pretty to average. Kaden is probably going to be awkward at that age too since he looks so much like Jess.

Through my husbands employer, he gets just under $800 taken out of his check per month ($3- something per biweekly paycheck). There's lots of rules and stipulations with it - we are responsible over a certain amount of medical bills, etc - but we are a pretty healthy family of 5 and with regular yearly check ups, a couple sick visits a year, eye exams, and dentist appts, we pay nearly nothing out of pocket. It also paid for 3k of our daughters braces, leaving us with just a $100 per month orthodontist payment, and covers my contact lenses every month. So yes while it may seem expensive, in the grand scheme of things having a monthly insurance payment is MUCH better/easier than doing everything as you go, out of pocket.

I was thinking the same thing. Why not take the two or three kids who NEED shoes. Leave Chris home with the baby and the other kids and then it’s much easier. Instead of looking for deals or stylish shoes she needs to get those boys some sturdy sneakers.

I could probably agree on that one. She’ll never become a teacher but it’s obvious that she’s got an eye for photography and when YouTube packs up, she could always become a photographer alongside another job. She’s done it all for her extended family so why not make a profession and that way she’s got a career to fall back on?

Eh, every stay at home mom with a DSLR thinks they could be a photographer. I don't think she has the personality - Jessica is literally incapable of blending and being unobtrusive even at other people's weddings. She takes nice photos but I've never seen any that are unique or distinctive in style which from what I know tends to be what gets people hired as wedding photographers.
