Bumpsalongtheway Part 9
Re: Bumpsalongtheway Part 9
I don't know why but after awhile of people repeating I am a mother I kept thinking it sounds like they are wanting to say mother fucker and getting cut off lol it made the video much more enjoyable to think of it that way.

Re: Bumpsalongtheway Part 9
Kind of sad how many youtubers were in the video, I only recognized a couple so thought they did okay but apparently I missed a bunch. Too bad they could have done well with the video, but then again last years was so amazing, I don't know if there could of been a way to top it or come close.
And someone PLEASE tell me that I misheard Missy at the end of todays vlog, she was talking about the mothers day video and I heard her say something about the over ROAMING support... figuring she meant overwhelming support but maybe I just heard wrong, kind of hoping lol!

Are they trying to get this video on The Ellen Show?!! I saw someone's tweet about it. I hope not!!!mommyluvv wrote:So, all the videos were from Youtubers pretty much?
What another scam they pulled. I am sure more people sent in videos. They told people who sent in pictures to write what being a mother means to them. They should have shown peoples videos and then some scenes with peoples pictures with what they wrote next to it instead of just the little square of pictures at the end.
But all they did was choose youtubers for their videos.
pointless video. Last year was definitely better, when they didn't show all youtubers in it. actual people that aren't on youtube were in that one.
I am so disappointed. Their little preview they gave looked like it was going to be a good one.

You not taking it lightly when people do those faux marriages, is the exact same as me saying I don't take it lightly when people think that infertility is just a game of "oh damn, not pregnant again this month. We'll try again next month!" It's physically and mentally really hard work. but it's just pushed off to the side. As far as I can tell, you've never been through it, and I honestly hope you never have to.mandylouwho wrote:I sort of understand the person who said it's strange to call yourself a mother when you don't have any children and aren't and have never been pregnant. I don't agree with they way they worded it, that was pretty harsh. And women can definitely be mothers at heart and mother figures to children in their lives... But motherhood is hard work and it seems a little unfair for someone who isn't doing it to claim it. I've never struggled with infertility and I can't imagine the heartbreak. I would never tell those women they aren't mothers. But if I didn't have children I don't think I'd call myself a mother either.
It reminds me of when teenagers on Facebook change their status to married when they're in a relationship. Some even change their last name and refer to their boyfriend as "hubby." I'm actually married and I don't take it lightly. Marriage is hard work so it's annoying when these teenagers pretend like it's just a matter of saying it on Facebook.
I hope not to offend anyone. I know mother's day is a very hard day for some and I think it's great that missy includes everyone in her mother's day videos.
I don't want to keep bickering back and forth, lol. Agree to disagree

I agree. Agree to disagree. I didn't read things being said about this topic, I just scrolled pass but when I was 19, I got pregnant but lost her at 23 weeks. I never called myself a mother. It was just kind of weird to call myself that because I didn't have a baby in my arms and since no one else acknowledged that I was a mother, I just never did. Mother's Day did make me very sad. Every once and again, a friend would tell me Happy Mothers Day and it would make me so happy. I had my son 6 years later. Point is, I too can kind of see what that person was trying to get at. It just may have been worded differently.longhairdontcare1006 wrote:You not taking it lightly when people do those faux marriages, is the exact same as me saying I don't take it lightly when people think that infertility is just a game of "oh damn, not pregnant again this month. last year bryan led a big campaign to get missy on ellen for mothers day, he was posting to ellens facebook page multiple time a day and having their subscribers post and comment as well. they are so thirsty for fame. i understand that youtube is their job and means of financial support right now and i don't hate on youtubers for their success but i am sickened by how not genuine these people are, their motive for every single move they make is fame and i do not believe for a second that they wouldn't drop their fellow youtube "friends" if someone more famous came along.ohgoodness wrote:Are they trying to get this video on The Ellen Show?!! "I teamed up with some amazing YT moms to break the mold about Mother's Day".
Okay so did Missy ask these YT moms to contribute to this video? Then what was the point in asking viewers to send their own? Look at this tweet that someone ask Missy. http://i62.tinypic.com/351uzbl.jpg
How in the world did they use every single video in some sort of way?!

She did ask some of them and also she let one of them turn in their entry late, which I totally think is unfair!!ohgoodness wrote:Almost doesn't count. I'm just not buying it.hannahbanana wrote:"I teamed up with some amazing YT moms to break the mold about Mother's Day".

Re: Bumpsalongtheway Part 9
Haha Shay totally called them out on the podcast. He was talking about how YouTube is about uploading good content and not "like subscribe and make me more popular" like some people are doing now (BrYAN!!!!).
It's not about gaining success or popularity, YouTube started and should be all about being creative and wanting to share it and not gain from it, even if it's nice.
And that's exactly why I know the lumps will never be big! It's not about collabs with other youtubers to gain new viewers, it's not about whoring out a video to get more likes, or trying to push something to gain more.

Re: Bumpsalongtheway Part 9
Some of those photos were probably stills from non YouTubers' videos.
I think they should've included more non YouTubers as well. But that's probably how they used all the video entries "in some way"

Re: Bumpsalongtheway Part 9
They could have got in more non youtubers by only putting on one clip of each person.
If I'd seen this video and didn't know who Bryan and Missy were this video would have been nice but it is soooo obvious that just want it to go viral and they lose all emotion that could have had. I mean, this video literally had the same message add last year's, they're coming onto that pseudo meaningful thing and redoing it looks more fake
