Re: Sam & Nia
Well, it's only irresponsible if it wasn't fake. As a nurse you would think he would realize how important it is to get a woman who just miscarried to the doctor at some point. Just another reason to doubt the validity of the miscarriage.kayuhsee wrote:What an asshole. Re: Sam & Nia
People are giving the mother too much of a hard time though, especially on Sam and Nia's Facebook page. Some people are saying awful things (one guy actually said that he hopes karma gets Sam in the form of one of his kids getting kidnapped or being left in a hot car). Whether those people believe it all or not, that woman thought she was going to be a grandmother and now 100% believes that her daughter in law miscarried. They should have a little more respect say some of those things. I think it's fake too but I can't imagine the mother would ever be in on it.bffb3 wrote:Oh wow, his mum's facebook is a cringefest. Re: Sam & Nia
Not liking them is one thing, but wishing the kids get kidnapped is just sick. I've also seen hate comments in Sam's personal account, people are definitely taking things too far.WRW wrote:People are giving the mother too much of a hard time though, especially on Sam and Nia's Facebook page. Wow okay I was hoping maybe they went to the doctor on the day they took ''off'' but now... it has to be fake. Goddamnit what an ass Sam is.kayuhsee wrote:What an asshole. Re: Sam & Nia
i just youtue'd it and the test was actually a drug test, not a pregnancy test. to get a faint positive pregnancy test you can dip the test in apple juice or soda.... but drinking it and then taking the test won't result in a positive unless you are indeed pregnant.sfgiantsgirl wrote:I saw an episode of Mythbusters where Adam ate poppyseed bagels and then took a pregnancy test and it came out positive.WRW wrote:It's pretty easy to fake a pregnancy test positive. I did only a little cursory research and found that there are several substances you can use (concentrated apple juice, for example) that would result in a positive test.HelloSweetie1 wrote:For her to be around 6 weeks pregnant her HCG wouldn't turn a test that quickly.... especially when diluted.

If it was a chemical pregnancy, she wouldn't have to go to the doctor. I didn't have to go in for mine.WRW wrote:Well, it's only irresponsible if it wasn't fake. I don't think they faked her being pregnant, but I think they are milking all of this for fame. That is so disgusting.

Re: Sam & Nia
But it wasn't a chemical pregnancy if she was 2 weeks late on her period. A chemical pregnancy is finding out you are pregnant before your period is due and then having a natural "period" on time as usual. Most women would not even know they were pregnant unless they tested really early. I was shocked to hear that she hadn't been to a doctor since! She definitely needs to get a transvaginal US to determine that everything was expelled or could lead to major infection, her nurse of a husband should know these things!

Re: Sam & Nia
When I had my miscarriage last year. I had to go through 6 weeks of blood work till my hCG levels went down to zero along with an ultrasound after. I hope her husband isn't assumed because she stopped bleeding she doesn't need to be checked. She still needs to be checked. Also *TMI* I bleed the whole 6 weeks till my hCG went to zero. So I'd imagine she is still. How can her husband not want her to go to be safe. An incomplete miscarriage can cause infection and lead to infertility.
Re: Sam & Nia
Definitely safer to see a doctor! and the fact that he thinks they don't have to because he's a nurse... what even on earth kinda logic is that??? It's not a little papercut. It's serious.
Unless it's, you know, all fake.

Re: Sam & Nia
I agree with Mommanikki and VerucaSalt. With my losses they tested my betas back down to 0, and confirmed there were no "retained products".
I'm calling BS on Sam's story. He probably faked the whole thing and doesn't want her to go to the doctor and risk him getting busted.
Do you know that if you take an OPK (ovulation test) and touch it to the HPT test after you've dipped it, that it will cause the test to be positive?
I found this out by accident when I was testing and didn't know if I had ovulated yet or not .
Bummer for me when I figured out it was a false positive.

Re: Sam & Nia
I didn't realize she was that late. She seemed up and about the next day, so I assumed chemical. Yes, she definitely needs a transvaginal. The husband is an idiot.VerucaSalt wrote:But it wasn't a chemical pregnancy if she was 2 weeks late on her period. I'm trying not to watch because I cried today thinking that someone would be insane enough to milk a miscarriage for fame. Between my infertility and miscarriage struggles, I just can't with these two.
Re: Sam & Nia
I agree with everyone. Nia needs to go to the Dr's if she did have a miscarriage. There might be some medical problems she has/had, that caused her to miscarry. I am assuming they will try again to fall pregnant, so a normal person would want to get it checked out so they don't have the same problem with the next pregnancy she has. Sam is just ridiculous saying she doesn't need to see a Dr because he is an nurse. You are a nurse, not a Doctor Sam. Them not going to the Doctor is making me feel even more suspicious about them faking it in the first place.
Re: Sam & Nia
technically he's not even a nurse anymore since he quit. lol.

According to the Buzzfeed article, the hospital he worked at said he never quit. So technically he's still a nurse.kisses wrote:technically he's not even a nurse anymore since he quit. lol.

He said in that vlog, which was basically them calling out the haters the whole time, that Buzzfeed must have called the wrong person. Really I don't think he could hide a job like that since viewers expect him to be around all the time now.WRW wrote:According to the Buzzfeed article, the hospital he worked at said he never quit. Sam & Nia
Not exactly the same but reminded me of when Ellie says Julie is in med school too. NO SHES FUCKING NOT. She does not get her name on the diploma at the end. She is not Julie _______ M.D.Jessi31 wrote:I agree with everyone. Nia needs to go to the Dr's if she did have a miscarriage. Annoys me so much. I just got my Honours B.Sc. My BF was there every step of the way. But that is MY degree not his! Same thing, my mom is a teacher, doesn't make my dad teacher too. Ugh just pisses me off. Sorry for a little OT.

Re: Sam & Nia
It said in the buzzfeed article that when asked about the hospital not having any record of him quitting, he told buzzfeed it was because the paperwork must not have processed yet (which still makes very little sense since a couple weeks had gone by and according to the hospital it only takes 48 hours to process that paperwork).kayuhsee wrote:He said in that vlog, which was basically them calling out the haters the whole time, that Buzzfeed must have called the wrong person. EDIT: Here is the quote from the article - "Rader told BuzzFeed News that this discrepancy probably means the hospital must not have processed his paperwork yet."
EDIT 2: I wasn't implying that he still actually goes to work there, only that he lied at some point about giving his two week's notice (for whatever reason).
Re: Sam & Nia
either Sam is a total douchebag or they definitely fake the pregnancy with him making a joke about Nia being pregnant after the baby shower like seriously? if I was Nia, I probably would've cried how insensitive that was BUT, that's only if I wasn't faking the pregnancy to begin with as well.
