I feel like a lot of this stems from the fact that Gaines was probably a very easy baby and brooks was not. She also has used PPD to explain it away. It seems like she just never bonded with him.. at all.

They made some comment at one of Brittany's gender reveals about how they were disappointed that Brooks was a boy. Gaines was an easy baby but she was starting to get to be more difficult right before Brooks was born. For instance, they did baby led weaning with Gaines, but she was already picky. She went from eating all kinds of foods when they weaned her, to only eating pasta with butter, mac and cheese, and I think sometimes chicken nuggets. Katie had to spell the word "meat". But they blame Brooks for their problems, and don't even see that Gaines was developing normal two-three year old defiance about the time they had Brooks.

Speaking of Baby Led Weaning, we here used to think Katie was a saint of a mother compared to Missy and Ellie because of the focus she placed on Gaines’ nutrition. Now I think she did BLW so she could just shove full carrots and fruit pieces at Gaines to suck on so she wouldn’t have to actually feed her.

Anyone else see her IG as for that blender? Most mothers would advertise its ability to make a smoothie, but Katie makes a stiff Margarita for herself (and mentioned she takes it with her to the pool. I think she’s just a functional alcoholic at this point.

Yep. She says he has a DRUG problem, and drinking is just fine. Way back when Cullen first started discussing all this, he said he had an alcohol problem as well. But Katie back-pedaled and said it was just pot. She seems to have convinced Cullen of that as well, even though most recovery programs recommend you abstain from alcohol as well as whatever other drugs you're using.
If Cullen is an alcoholic, then Katie will lose her drinking buddy. Honestly, I believe she is at the very least a problem drinker. If you're drowning in debt and prioritizing buying alcohol, you have a problem.
Cullen seems perfectly happy to swallow whatever Katie tells him. I think he likes living that way because it absolves him of responsibility. It's not his fault that they're in debt! Katie handles the finances. Katie says he's not an alcoholic, so they can both keep drinking.

Cullen said THEY have a problem with drinking. The fact that Katie was so triggered by that comment and told Cullen pot was the problem but their drinking was fine (when he seemed willing to try and go dry altogether) tells me that she definitely has a drinking problem.

It’s like Katie thinks everyday should be a vacation. Sit by the pool and drink. She doesn’t live in reality.

I watched the past few vlogs and what on earth is going on with these two? The company that paid them for a pet brand deal has to be crazy or they haven't actually watched the vlog. Gains has her own channel and comments are back on.
How do you move towards your forties and act less mature than when you were in your teens or twenties. Not many wives would like Cullen's stupidity, but Katie is no different than him and drinking or other drugs appear to be part of their lives. They don't even hide the drinking anymore. They think they're funny, but the situation is sad and embarrassing for their extended family.


This is the description "about" their YouTube channel. I would say they haven't changed or gotten worse than they were in 2016. Many have situations they've described below and don't act as they do.

I'm surprised the kids can sleep through their drunken cackles. In the last vlog Cullen had to shhh Katie twice & she always painted Cullen as the one with the problem. They seem to only really laugh that hard when they are under the influence.

There's an old video of them doing an empty house tour and Cullen is legit GURNING in it. Having seen a lot of people on cocaine, I really think that was it. Not sure about now, but back then he was totally on coke or some sort of upper.

I can't imagine approving an ad with parents of small children day drinking at the community pool. It only takes a second of distraction to cause a tragedy.
But we know that doesn't faze them. Cullen is the king of distracted driving.

Jesus, Cullen can't film. And how sad Brooks knows he is expected to see Gaines in the center of the universe when Grandberry asked him what it said on the stuffed animal she gave him, he said "Gaines?" He was guessing that the name Gaines would be on his stuffed animal... Yeah laugh it away, Katie, laugh it away. I hope Grandberry notices and realizes this.

Their last video How Do We Handle This? is Katie explaining poorly the idea of diagnostic criteria and benchmarks and then dismissing them and b*tching about their kid B. They ramble on pretty incoherently at first and then when Cullen start deferring to her "expertise" the flattery seems to sober her up a little and she is able to list all the ways B is likely to struggle at school and in life.

They speculate that the kids are listening from the other room. Imagine that, as a child, having your parents talk about you like that within earshot and then realizing they are filming it for youtube. What a betrayal. Of course they say they want to normalise neurodivergence but how is that a 5 year old's responsibility? Why does B have to have his supposed sensory issues and ADHD publicised. So tactless.

I think Katie left her work because she wasn't up to it. She's is mentally slow and scattered (perhaps because of mental health conditions, prescribed medication, and alcohol, or the whole cocktail). It sounds like her last job had her on the "monkey see, monkey do" lowest level of work - basically checking boxes so some one senior could make a diagnosis - and she didn't have the intellectual rigour for much more. That's why she can't turn her academic background into anything useful and produce videos with quality content that many people with an interest in developmental or mental health issues would watch and use as a resource. She's always been an academic lightweight, I suspect, and probably got a lot of help as an undergraduate from study groups and private tutors, and barely scraped through her doctoral work. Clearly she's a terrible parent, but perhaps now she's just messing up two kids instead of an office full (though I don't think she'd ever pass supervision to practice at full capacity).

I have not watched much of their last few videos (because they are pointless) but the last one they just posted "how do we handle this?" - THEY.ARE.HAMMERED WOW. How do they actually edit and release this content, thinking that people cannot see how intoxicated they are? I am not even sure it's alcohol? It's something. they have 2 kids at home with them, and they are both completely cocked. The fact that sponsors engage w/ these morons is astounding.
