The playroom off the kitchen is necessary because the kitchen is so closed off. ( I didn't say open concept was my preference, but that's what Katie said they wanted and we're looking for.) But that "filming room" in the basement isn't well thought out and the office in the laundry room doesn't make sense either. I think they're realize this once they live there day-to-day. The house is massive, but I don't see how that choppy layout fits their needs.pibachka wrote:A playroom off of the kitchen is a necessity with little kids, and in a previous video Katie talked about how she would love to have more kids (plural). I bet they are planning to fill those bedrooms and playrooms up
Cullen said they already have plans to make some changes to the yard, hopefully they will make it more private.

A massive house that needs a ton of work + a couple known for their procrastination = The updated house tour will be posted in 2022
Re: Cullen and katie : Moving On Up. Part #10
I appreciate the house tour vlog and it was nicely done. They love the house so I am happy for them. It does look so much better without the old people furniture. I wouldn't be too quick getting rid of the gold since I think it is starting to come back in. I agree with Katie the house is move in ready, just in needs of cometic updates. The wood floors look like they are in great shape. It just shows how subjective everyone's taste is and there are some nice parts.
If I had one room to do over and I had tons of money it would be the kitchen. Katie is right it has a lot of space and the second freestanding table would not survive a remodel for me personally. I could live with the bathrooms with painting them, but the bathroom's black toilet/vanity I would replace with white since it wouldn't be a great big expense and this would improve this room tremendously. Personally I hope they stick with neutral paint. Please no purple or teal lol. I also really like the chandlers and the kitchen shutters. With the windows on the second floor with in kids rooms, is there something you would need to do to ensure they would get out onto the roof?
The screen porches off the bedroom and kitchen are really nice. I love the master bedroom with the fireplace and tray ceiling. I can see sitting out on the screen porch during the evenings without the bugs. I think you lose a bit of privacy with the golf course and I wonder if they would put an invisible fence in with the dogs since I doubt their home covenants allow fence backyards. It also has a few rooms that will work well with their YouTube business. I actually like Katie's idea with the playroom off the kitchen. I am wondering why they would look to finish off the garage since this house is enormous....that would be a very late project and the interior would be the priority.
We built and I would have done some things differently so I guess no house is perfect. But it is the people who live in the house and not the house which is the most important!

Loved it, and I agree with those that say they would choose this house over EJ and DB. Nothing "needs" to be done right now, I would change the fridge part, either build up the cabinet to hold it or take off the side so it's not so obvious that it doesn't fit (why that bothers me so much is beyond me lol) and I loooove the shutters in the kitchen but all that matters is they seem super happy and excited and I really am happy for them

LOL...I had to laugh at this formula or equation. I am seeing some change recently so I am hoping the procrastination might be less and they are motivated to get things done. I think money will play a role in updates too.bffb3 wrote:A massive house that needs a ton of work + a couple known for their procrastination = The updated house tour will be posted in 2022

I think the house is livable... A few fixes and paint I love the high ceilings and the charm in the house. I'm excited to see what they come up with decor wise. I'm sure a lot of shopping trips are in the future vlogs

I like CK house, but I do like DB and EJ better with their finishes and how they've decorated them. They are not unintelligent people, but I question what they paid for it being on the market for a while and no real updates since being built? A lot of people might look at this house and consider most rooms tear downs or gut jobs which they didn'tPlaysinrain wrote:I REALLY love this house. I'm with whoever just said (I can't see it in this reply lol sorry) they love it more than DB or EJ's homes. It just feels so much more homey to me. I cannot wait to see how they change things up.
My only gripe about the home tour is we can't see how everything flows or how it's layed out. I would have loved to see an "uncut" walk through.

I like it better with what C&K showed over the photos
yeah sure some fixtures (ie gold/black) and fridge are a bit so-so but I like the kitchen (besides fridge situation)
but its looks like a nice house and good layout while not "open plan" it's functional
I hope with painting the stick to the classic grey/white throughout
I love the amount of storage it has I'd live in it
it will be interesting seeing how much backyard the have and if they will be able to fence it or not?
is it just that tiny bit the shown in the vlog and in the listing pictures?

Massive house!! It has a lot of charm and character but I live in a 30 year old house and just this year everything is falling apart. Slab leaks, toilet leaks, shower pan is cracked and leaking, it is costing us a fortune right now. I hope this house doesn't end up being a money pit for them. But over all I was impressed with the size and I do love that basement. I wish them all the luck in the world, they have earned it for sure!

Wow I never really imagined the house being so big. The pictures didn't do it justice. It's gorgeous.

Just now getting around to watching the vlog. I agree with many of you that said it looks so much better in the vlog than it did on the realtor listing.
A couple things that stood out to me.
Why two playrooms? I get having one off the kitchen for now while the kids are little, and for when they're older having the upstairs one will be nice for video games like what Kelly and Jay have. I just don't see them ever using an upstairs playroom at this stage in the kids' lives.
When Cullen was showing the structure of the house in the basement. Steel beams... isn't that standard when building a house?
And finally, did that basement filming room remind anyone else of the confessionals they had on MTV "The Real World"?
Anyway, I'm excited to see what they do with the house, and this house tour made me feel less pessimistic about the purchase.

People are all worried in the comments that they will become B&M and E&J. Hopefully they will stay grounded.

A legit concern, but I think that their slow channel growth and their families will keep them grounded.Baconsgirl wrote:People are all worried in the comments that they will become B&M and E&J. Hopefully they will stay grounded.

That happens. My house is 110 years old but before this w lived in a brand new town house and had water issues.Bethypooh51 wrote:Massive house!! Re: Cullen and katie : Moving On Up. Part #10
There is a total of 5 bedrooms, 4 upstairs with the master bedroom downstairs.Deadhead_kay wrote:For those who found the listing, or if they've mentioned it in another vlog, how many bedrooms does the house have? The large playroom could be turned into another bedroom depending on the placement in the house, but Im just thinking about if they want to have more children. Of course the kids can share but if you're spending tons on a house I would assume you'd get something that kids could have their own personal space.

They'll probably get an invisible fence - it would make the most sense.
