Re: DailyOutOfTouchWithReality Part 87
Oliver either had a sleep disorder or they dose him this Benadryl. No way that's normal. I could see them finding it too convenient to risk having investigated though.
My husband had a sleep disorder and it's anything but cute when a grown adult or older child falls asleep at inappropriate times. It can have an effect on the relationship with others around them. If Oliver has a friend over to play, and randomly falls asleep, then that child might think they were rude. If he falls asleep in school it is definitely going to set him apart front the other children, and make learning more difficult.
Being a deep sleeper and falling asleep close to bedtime and. It waking easily is a lot different than falling asleep midday while in a situation that usually causes excitement or anxiety. This should definitely be looked into. I know there has been speculation that it could be related to the seizures, but if it is, I don't think they have a diagnosis for that either. I think Missy got the perfect test she wanted and never had a second thought about it. They like that Ollie sleeps so much.

Re: DailyOutOfTouchWithReality Part 87
I agree. He went from having two naps a day to nothing it seems. Sometimes my almost 4 year old needs a quick nap during the day (my child is also the worst sleeper on the face of this planet but that's another story). Even if they just had a designated quiet time where he has to lay in bed or play by himself in the play room quietly. I mean we all know that will never happen though.tintin15 wrote:Ehhh, even if Ollie is a solid sleeper, I'm pretty worried about it. The fact that he can fall asleep in the middle of the day and not wake up for LITERALLY ANYTHING is very concerning. A haircut is relaxing, but a blow dryer is not lol.
He might not be getting enough sleep at night. He falls asleep whenever he wants and probably still wakes up at the same time every day. It could also be, while kids his age don't need naps, he personally could need a quick nap to get him through the day, in which case they should set aside a time for that instead of letting him fall asleep during dinner or a haircut.
Another thing could be, his diet could be exhausting him. It's amazing what a bad or good diet can do for you. He gets little to no nutrients from his food, I can guarantee he's deficient on a lot of things and those multi-vitamins (that he probably doesn't even take daily, as he should) can only help so much.
It could be something way more concerning, though.
Either way, a kid shouldn't be falling asleep at any moment the way he does. It's not consistent at all. Kids usually get tired around the time their nap is or their bedtime is, not just randomly throughout the day, unless they're exhausted from something (for example, as an adult, a day at a pool, beach, zoo, fair, etc. can make ME want to take a nap in the middle of the day hahaha). The kid has no routine at all in his life.
If he starts going to preschool full time will they have nap time? My son isn't in preschool but a friend of his is and they still take like 3 hour naps. It's weird.

No, they were talking about the chickens hatching. Baby chickens. Finn will be a "big brother" to baby chicks. Eyes rolling out of my head.whys0seri0us wrote:Whoa. I just caught something. Missy was at an appointment soon and then after the chicken talk Bryan says to Finn "might have some babies soon Finn, gonna be a big brother."
Think they could be hinting that Missy is pregnant?!?!

I know that's what he meant butttt that mixed with Missy being at an appointment that she didn't vlog and never explained. Seemed funny.lmmomSD wrote:No, they were talking about the chickens hatching. Baby chickens. Finn will be a "big brother" to baby chicks. Eyes rolling out of my head.whys0seri0us wrote:Whoa. Bryan did say that he took naps when he was at Mimi and Papa's. Once again, the grandparents are better parents.tintin15 wrote:Ehhh, even if Ollie is a solid sleeper, I'm pretty worried about it. Re: DailyOutOfTouchWithReality Part 87
How are these people not disturbed or worried about their child's sleeping habits. What was that about today! If it was a one or two year old, it would've been sweet. This child is almost four. He either has something medically wrong or their lack of schedule, good diet, and parenting is catching up to this poor kid.
I am so freaked out. I always thought it was weird that at almost four he sleeps in shopping carts and restaurants...but this was a whole other level.
Please, for the love of God, get your kid checked out.

12-3 is naptime at most places. Little ones do need quiet and rest time.
If his parents, and other vloggers, need a nap.. he does too

Bryan and Missy, it rhymes with Bumps and they're lazy as hell, so it suits them.janica wrote:A bit off topic, but who are the Lumps? I read this name all the time on this forum..

Where was Luna?? They seemed overly attentive to Karma in today's vlog. Didn't seem like she was in the crate behind the sofa.
Maybe missy got her nails done again.
Enough with that stupid haircut. That barber must be dying laughing all the way to the bank.

I think they basically get him a frappuccino without the coffee in it. Milk, sugar, cinnamon, whipped cream...yumladyju28 wrote:So Starbucks has special baby milk now?

It could have been a steamer. Just steamed milk and syrup (usually vanilla). But that probably wouldn't be junky enough for a Lanning toddler!ladyju28 wrote:So Starbucks has special baby milk now?

Didn't Ollie have absence seizures when he was a toddler? That coupled with his deep sleep during the day would concern me as a parent.

Re: DailyOutOfTouchWithReality Part 87
It could just be a vanilla bean cream frappucino. No coffee or caffeine at all. But still, way too much sugar for a toddler. And it was a grande cup she was pouring from, if memory serves. It has 16 grams of fat and FIFTY SEVEN grams of sugar. Yeah, great drink for an 18 month old.tintin15 wrote:I think they basically get him a frappuccino without the coffee in it. Re: DailyOutOfTouchWithReality Part 87
Missy said at the airport that Fin liked Chai and then said the drink she gave him didn't have caffeine but it was the cinnamon taste they figured he liked. I wouldn't be surprised if she is giving him chai and all chai has caffeine. This would definitely keep Fin from sleeping, so they shouldn't complain if he doesn't want to take naps.tintin15 wrote:I think they basically get him a frappuccino without the coffee in it. Exactly how did they find out Finn liked chai? It would never have occurred to me to give him even a taste of chai. And to actually buy him one?Coolowl wrote:Missy said at the airport that Fin liked Chai and then said the drink she gave him didn't have caffeine but it was the cinnamon taste they figured he liked. He drank that whole thing.
At first, I thought they shared with him, but the two other drinks on the bench kinda proved otherwise.

They either gave it to him to taste or he got a hold of it like everything else he grabs and eats. Not to long after the chai vlog Bryan got Fin on camera grabbing and drinking a soda, which Missy quickly snatched out of his hands after her husband commented he was drinking soda for the first time (yeah right) and laughed about it. Today's vlog Fin climbed on the counter and went straight for the food grabbing and eating Bryan's egg roll. They place no control over their kids.

Because making sure he doesn't get into stuff is way too much work... I saw him on the counter chowing on the egg roll. I was wondering what he was doing on the counter in the first place. I didn't let my kids hang out on counter tops the way vloggers do. But hey, that's just me.

I hope those kids don't get diabetes. I'm surprised missy and Bryan don't already. I'm sure if they keep on this way someone will eventually develop diabetes and hopefully will be enough to scare them into changing their lifestyles.
