HA! I can so see that happening. However, it will be hard for them to pass off because they got the gender from a blood test (aka DNA testing). Those tend to be very accurate. I kinda hope it happens though because I want to hear them try to explain it. XD
Would definitely be a dick move towards the baby though to have intentionally lied to the whole world about its gender knowing full well it was really the opposite of what they said and for the baby eventually knowing that and having video proof of it all. But E+J are assholes, sooo...

Sorry about my duplicate clickbait titles and not knowing how to edit my posts, lol. I will definitely lose the very little respect I have for E&J if they do pull something off like that. The sad thing is that their minions will see nothing wrong with it at all and still “love” and defend them -.-

I don't think Ellie could keep quiet about having a girl, personal but I have 3 boys when expecting my 3rd my doc struggled to see the gender eventually after proding etc my son quickly opened his legs and my doc snapped a pic and said looks like a girl, it really does you can clearly see 3 lines, anyhoo I was in shock went home, got used to the idea my mom went out and bought the store out of girls clothing, I told her to keep the slip, good thing she did because at my next ultrasound my doc pipes up oh I see something.... hubby is like what I laughed and said its a boy, have to admit I was in shock for all about a minute because we had become used to the idea of having a girl but I was over the moon by the time we left my doctors office, I consider myself a complete boys mom, went onto facebook and said well baby gave us a surprise or something like that, noone could believe it but it is actually not uncommon, a friend of mine was told girl with her first and surprise she had a boy and was then told boy with her 3rd and surprise she had a girl but our government hospitals only do 1 or 2 ultrasounds and the equipment is usually old, its why I always tell people to wait until at least 16 weeks to look at the gender, my doc told me at 12 weeks with all 3 but to be fair with my 3rd she did warn me that it was a quick shot and babies parts may not be properly developed yet.

Princess Ellie would not be able to contain herself she would be shoving it in everyone's faces, buying pink left right and center and the emphasis would be placed on oh when our DAUGHTER is here or when our baby GIRL arrives in EVERY video

Lol. Their video that was trending yesterday received less views than usual. It’s still only at 135k.

Jared probably bought some views to give it an early spike so it hit the trending page.

How is that even possible? Girls don’t have the Y chromosome, so if they found Y in the blood and it wasn’t from the Mom or the Baby, then where did it come from?

If she had had a recent miscarriage that was a boy, some Y chromosomes could still be in her blood, which could give a boy result. Also I have heard that it can be contaminated pretty easily if any male DNA gets in the blood sample.

This is why I’m not convinced that the blood test is going to be accurate for Ellie. She had a miscarriage right before she got pregnant. I’ll believe it when I see a confirmed gender ultrasound.

Ellie and Jared have met the Johnson’s right? Does anyone else think it’s incredibly insensitive to use a thumbnail of an u/s pic today given that they just announced their miscarriage yesterday?

Not really. If they were close, or it was a family member then maybe. But unfortunately miscarriage does happen and I wouldn't expect someone else to put their life on hold or play down their positive pregnancy stuff...and Im talking from experience. Ive been there with multiple miscarriages and although it stings I sure didn't expect my friends and family to stop being happy and sharing their pregnancy.

They don’t have to play down anything. I’m talking about not posting a thumbnail of an ultrasound pic. They have a lot of crossover audience with DB and therefore the Johnsons. A lot of that audience includes the loss community. Posting a miscarriage picture a day after viewers have been triggered by the Johnson story, and then could again be triggered by a pic is insensitive.

They may have had them over to their home, so they are certainly friendly enough to be sensitive.

If it was a family member MAYBE? Seriously, they were close enough to have the Johnsons come to UT and stay with them. How close do you need to be to someone to invite them into your home and around your children?

I agree it's insensitive. From E&J, I would expect no better though.

But the notion that being a little sensitive would somehow rob them of their experience is ridiculous. They talk about the pregnancy every day.... their life is in no way on hold just because they skip a pregnant Ellie thumbnail for a day :?

I really don't think its an issue...many here were saying how *great* it would be if someone, especially one of her sisters, announced that they were pregnant when Ellie was going through her miscarriage (I only believe the one was real). This is no different.

If they tried to be sensitive to everything one of their friends was going to they wouldn't be able to post videos anymore.

Im not going to post anymore on the subject, it feels too weird to be defending them!!

I feel its in especially poor taste because they both tweeted the Johnsons about it, so you can't even argue they didn't know. I don't think it would have been a huge detriment to just not make that the thumbnail for the day. Ultrasound pics can be incredibly triggering anyway, and it never hurts to be sensitive. The argument that being sensitive somehow takes something away from someone else always bothers me. Yes sensitivity expectation can be taken too far, but I don't think this is the case.

Youtube is like a big corporation. Ellie and Talia are like coworkers that share an office space. There is so much crossover, and they know each other more than just mildly. It would be inappropriate for an employee to walk into work waving around her ultrasound pic the day after hearing a coworker had a miscarriage. In my opinion anyway.

This isn't the first ultrasound Ellie had this pregnancy, and it's not even going to be the last. We are going to see way more... why not just skip the thumbnail for this one? Or just go back and add the ultrasound pic in a week? It's not like the ultrasound happened yesterday anyway and they are excited to share it. It was 3 days ago!

Yup, I think it's tacky and insensitive, but honestly I didn't even give it a thought because I would expect nothing different from them. Well, I suppose they could have posted a "We're so sad for our friends" thumbnail/vlog (and still monetize it of course), followed the next day by their ultrasound pics-- but that's about as much 'credit' as I'd give them to even attempt to show they cared.

Mistakes could happen like what happened with your friend, but if E+J pull this, no one can tell me otherwise- it was planned. They would make it up for the clickbait titles.

They have definitely had Jeff stay at their home. They made this big deal about how he was the first one to sleep in one of the guest bedrooms.
But this is Ellie we're talking about. She doesn't care about anyone else...

I know we didn’t get to see a definite gender confirmation ultrasound photo, but Ellie did say something to the effect of “he’s definitely a boy”. I kind of believe it just because she said the Dr. wasn’t supposed to do an ultrasound but did one “real quick” because he knows she”/ “having some anxiety”. She hasn’t been talking about or acting like she’s having any anxiety. So it wouldn’t shock me if she played it off like she was because she wanted to a chance to see the gender and “make sure” since it’s no secret she really wanted a girl and was convinced that’s what she was getting. Again, not that she is telling the truth but I still think they wouldn’t be able to hide the excitement if it were a girl. And since Jared wasn’t at the ultrasound, if she would’ve seen that it was a girl instead I think there would’ve been a different reaction when Jared walked in the door from his trip than the “come scratch my back now” one. mean, they could’ve already done the clickbait title at this point if they wanted to...and then followed it up with a girls clothing haul, starting to make the nursery girly since Calvin is in the basement, preparing for baby girls with Julie, buying matching outfits for all the new baby girls coming around the same time, etc. to drag out the hype and continue to gain views off of it. Can’t say I would be shocked if they did pull something like that on the viewers - but we would all know if that happens that they did it on purpose. There would be no mistaking that. I just hope the baby is definitely a boy when he makes his entrance into the world. Maybe we’ll see confirmation on ultrasound photos at their 20 week appt?

I think if they intentionally lied about the gender and made it seem like the doctor had it wrong, they could be in legal trouble. That could harm the ultrasound tech/ doctors reputation.

Therefore, I don’t think they are lying.
