The guys that asked Shari probably just want to be on yt. Her attitude sucks and she has no manners. I really hope she comes down to earth and off her high horse.

Did anyone notice how angry/bratty Shari sounded when she snapped at Ruby @ 10:26? I wonder if that is what it is like in the house when the camera is off. Ruby looked like she was going to have a full-on breakdown. She probably did afterwards. I am not sure that a simple "sit in your pain and be uncomfortable" with an indifferent frowning head nod, is the right response for every kid in every situation. Shari had to have known the dates of CVX coincided with Home Coming in advance, so I think living with her choice is reasonable. She probably didn't think she would be asked. You live and you learn. You make adult commitments, you have to act like an adult and follow through.

However, I seriously hope Chad isn't experiencing something along the lines of clinical depression, because both isolation in the wilderness, and returning to a house where you are told to just "sit in your pain" both sound like terrible ideas. Part of me hopes Chad did ask to "walk the trail" alone and live off the land because he is a trained scout and is planning an escape once the eyes are off him. If food is delivered weekly to the kids still living off of rice and lentils, they can't be that far from civilization. If he didn't ask and this is additional punishment for still not agreeing to humble himself to the Mormon private school, I hope he holds out until his parents are broke. I'm not sure Ruby will want a kid who prefers to be alone, killing and eating squirrels for fun though. Depending on why Chad is there, this experience could push him into becoming an actual "troubled teen".

Wait. Chad gets sent away for "not being humble" but they do a vlog about how Shari is "so popular" that 3 boys invited her to homecoming?
And Ruby tells Eve that she can't stay mad at her, because she is just too cute.

If Chad really has depression... I hope he is in the right mindset to be left alone on his walk-about thing. I know Kevin posted it’s being done under supervision of distanced guides but I don’t know.. I’d feel uncomfortable if he was my kid. How do they know he’s not feeling suicidal or intends on hurting himself away from the group?

hi! i've been lurking for a while but i want to finally share my thoughts on something!

as a young adult myself that suffers with depression, i find it really worrying that chad has "requested" to be on his own, especially considering the circumstances. if he is struggling mentally, being alone can be the worst thing. obviously everyone experiences mental health issues differently but for me, when i feel the desire to isolate myself its never a good thing, so i truly hope thats not the case for him. i can't imagine being sent off on my own when struggling mentally because all you often want is someone to comfort you/companionship

Looks like that is what is happening. I thought last week was because of being busy with the YT convention till there wasn't one today. I guess Ruby decided to follow her sister and cut back on uploads. Her decision to make but at least post and give people the heads up! Uploading faithfully on schedule was one thing I liked about Ruby!

5:30 pm - 5:55 pm Teen Creator Panel on September 21. This convention is in Provo, close to their home and why couldn't she attend Homecoming after this event? There are no CVX events scheduled the last day in the evening and the convention looks like it is over when the dance would take place?

I almost feel like the whole homecoming thing is a lie. In the video about Brevin she said that so many guys wanted to ask her out and to date her but they never asked because she has a boyfriend. How many dates has she been on since then? If someone REALLY wanted to take her to Homecoming and couldn’t because of CVX live why not just plan special, fun date to make up for it?

How disgusting!! To put your child's life out on the internet when he is not there. The fact Ruby and Kevin made the decision to delete Chad's Instagram account should have given them enough sense to know it's something that should be made private (the why and anything surrounding it). What else are you going to do while he is away, and then break the news to him, then give the honor to someone other than his parents to "counsel" him over it. Very sad parenting. The fact he is absent and you are still carrying on with exploiting his life is just wrong!

I hope this plan all backfires in Ruby and Kevin's face...sent him away to get fixed, only to have him come home and saying no to involvement with internet fame. They'll have to send him away again so he conforms with contributing to how the family makes money.

To be honest i think this stuff is going to cause ptsd in at least one of the kids. She has said in the past that she has thrown away some of the kids belongings without them knowing. This is not ok. Sit down with your god damn children and talk about things before you do them. Its not about tough love, its about having common decency. Can you imagine if she came home one day and her husband threw away all of her clothes in the name of tough love for her spending addiction?

I wonder why is she allowed to have clothes but her kids can not even have 2 pairs of anything. I remember that valentines video where she decided to give the kids a gift and celebrate valentines day. the gift was clothes she was going to give them for spring anyway.
