Public humiliation is right. This thread title is so apt. And of course, Abby is probably doing the laundry because Ruby is too busy online shopping for herself.
Yes. 12 years old is old enough to help with the laundry. But she shouldn't be publicly shamed for making a mistake.
And why did ABBY have to pay Shari back? Doesn't Shari get first pick of the clothes Ruby buys plus school clothes taken care of by mom?

They have made more money off of Chad than any of the kids and can't provide clothes for him.

Then Shari gets money from Abby because she ruined her shirt. Mistakes happen and Abby was trying to help with the laundry. They share clothes anyway probably was Abby's shirt anyway.

Shari should use the money she “couldn’t” pay Abby for the videos abby helped her with !!!!! Like cleaning the car etc ...Abby was in that vid, cleaned the car, and got paid in like candy or something if I rem correctly...meanwhile Shari collected the YouTube profits

Shouldn't Chad legally be entitled to a lot of the money this channel makes? The videos which star him (in thumbnail or title) obviously draw in 4x as many viewers than any of Ruby's other videos. I'm sure he would have some claim to a lot of the profits if he had means. Either way, Ruby should have SOME kind of moral compass telling her her kids deserve a lot more than she does out of all of this...does she think she'd have anywhere near as many views if her kids dropped out of the vlogs for, say, a week? She'd probably drop more than half her subscribers if she announced the kids would no longer be in the videos.

I sometimes wonder if the whole 'kids aren't allowed smart phones/access to the internet' rule is more to keep the kids out of the 'business' than it is to keep them off 'other sites'.

I hope with all these new youtube regulations comes some kind of guarantee of wage for the kids who 'star' in these vlogs. Chad is a very stark example of the issue, but it's a lot of family vloggers as well, seem to give absolutely nothing to their kids when they deserve at least half the profits.

They should at least set up bank accounts and have profits from each video go directly to that account, where the parents can't access it, and the kids get access at 18...how is youtube any different from child stars on reality shows? (the kids on Dance Moms, for example)

tl;dr: it's ridiculous Chad has 'no money' when he is a HUGE part of why Ruby has ANY money. Despite it being morally disgusting, she should have no legal right to keep things like clothes and a backpack from him when his face in a thumbnail has earned the cost of those items probably 100x over.

Those kids really do deserve a chunk of the money "Ruby" has made. Instead, she goes off on trips to Europe with Kevin and gets botox and spends the day shopping online for HERSELF. Hopefully these kids will sue their parents, and hopefully there will be enough left to pay for at least some of the therapy they are going to need.

Holy moly, Shari is what? 16? 17? And she's shaming her 12 year old sister to thousands of people for making a mistake while trying to help with the laundry?? Not only is this embarrassing for Abby, but it's so disgusting and humiliating for Shari to do. This isn't how you help someone learn from their mistakes; this is how you shame someone. I hope she looks back on this and realizes how embarrassing it was for her to do this, but honestly she'll probably look back and laugh. Despicable.

Like mother, like daughter. Powerful mom, Ruby, has done the same in the past, calling out one of the girls for shrinking her sweater when they washed it (I think it was Julie, could be wrong). I said the same thing at that time--wash your own clothes and hold no one accountable but yourself. Ruby was going to charge that person for the loss too. The saying goes, the Apple doesn't fall far from the tree..... I putty Shari's future children and husband, she's so high and mighty now, it will be Ruby x3.

Ruby comments about how typically, moms are the ones to get applauded when their son earns Eagle Scout, but she can't take credit this time (I'm sure she tried). I don't know about others, but when a child is not dressed for the occasion, is ill prepared, or appears somewhat neglected, it is a reflection on their parents. I know Chad is old enough but what caught me immediately about his attire, this was an award ceremony (accepting badges) and he is dressed in lounge pants. Maybe Boy Scouts has relaxed a bit, but meetings were more casual, whereas, a ceremony was more formal and you wore uniform with shirt tucked in and proper pants. As a mom, I would have pointed this out to my son, especially since I know I will broadcast it to the world. His shirt doesn't seem to be fully adorned with proper patches either, which makes me wonder yet again, what the hell does Ruby do with all her time while kids are at school and her children are all doing the housework for her? I would be so ashamed of myself if I were in her shoes, and I would love to hear what others in the community say about her--probably the same thing I say every time I read here or watch her vlogs, "Ruby is such an a$$."

I thought the plan was for them to stay where they are? Has Ruby mentioned this in the vlog yet?

wow! i'm somewhat surprised.. they have said time and time again that they were staying in that house. they also just did a number of renovations. maybe that was all done with intention to sell? there hasn't been mention in the vlogs or else i'm sure it would have been mentioned here. it will be interesting to see whether they build or buy. i'm assuming buy an existing house but maybe they have been quietly building for a few months now.

I didn’t see their house. There’s 1 that looks a LOT like theirs..but the backyard is totally different
