Yes and I think they are very careful with what they upload so they don't get in trouble. They probably don't have anything safe to upload so they aren't uploading anything.mikaydean wrote:Did they only post 1 video this week?

While my sister & I didn't get to choose our beds or bedroom furniture (I still have my childhood dresser & nightstand), we were allowed to decorate our bedrooms with pictures from magazines, posters, etc.. Had to share a room until my folks decided to convert the room next to the bathroom into a bedroom & my sister moved into it. That room had originally been where we kept out washer & dryer, but dad expanded the utility room connected to the carport so there was enough room for the washer, dryer, storage cupboards & a chest freezer.Emily81 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 6:39 am So, in the end, Julie won't be able to have her own room. Ruby won, as always.
When I was a child my parents took me and my brother to the shops and we chose the furniture for our rooms. They're teens and don't even get to choose their own bed. So sad.

It can be a real trial sharing a bedroom unnecessarily too. I was a Felix, while my sister was an Oscar, and in this case there are zero reasons for Julie & Abby to share a bedroom in such a large house. Our house was small by comparison so when we moved in there were only two bedrooms until a couple of years later.

You know it is great "school" when the name is misspelled (ConneXions) AND the current students are the ones giving the lessons. Ruby is the perfect parenting coach; CPS told her so during the recent abuse investigation!
-------------------------
Did anyone else notice that the only lesson to date is still, identifying truth vs. distortion? I could teach the class just from watching her vlogs. "The truth is", locals view this nonsense as the new MLM/pyramid scheme. I don't think that post of mine ever went through. Per a series of YT comments, I learned that after the short "life coach" course, the students then become employees that are also forced to pay for/attend weekly counseling sessions (sex and marriage), and recruit their own students to teach/fleece. Ruby appears to be recruited & taught by that genealogy woman Paige, who brought R&K to the UK.
Based on the criminal case against owner Jodi Hildebrandt (Chad's therapist), it almost sounds like how Scientologists control/blackmail their members through "auditing". Kevin better watch out, that woman almost lost her medical license divulging one of her employee-patient's private info, getting the husband booted from both BYU and the Mormon church. All for the low price of $2000 per month. Not to mention that local in the YT comments said that the week long training session in SD is $13k, and they will set you up with another MLM to earn the money.

Jesus Christ, that's the woman they had counseling Chad?! She divulged sensitive information without her patient's permission and got him into trouble with his church. She also repeatedly threatened him that he had to take more sessions with her and accused him of having problems, addictions, and conditions that she never formally diagnosed him with. No wonder they chose her to be Chad's therapist. Was he already seeing her prior to Anasazi? I'm guessing she probably counsels him under the pretense of keeping everything he says between him and her, but then probably goes behind his back to report back to Ruby and Kevin so they can punish him for whatever he admits to or asks for help with. No wonder they always try to act like Chad has so many issues and problems, because this woman probably makes it all up and tries to demonize Chad to them. I'm really worried about Chad now if he was being blackmailed and manipulated by this woman, made to believe he has problems that he doesn't, and possibly got sent away because of stuff she said about him. How awful.Kattiness Everdeen wrote: ↑Sun Aug 30, 2020 7:02 am

Re: 8 Passengers: No beds, no food, but mom loves motherhood! | Part 18
I'm a designer and graduated from design school. The room looks stark, much like the rooms at a convalescent home or psych ward. There's no personality showing anyone lives there.
Oftentimes, people who decorate this way have a lot of mental clutter and empty spaces are their way to control their environment. It could also be significant in importance, with more carefully decorated rooms having more color and decor. People don't place as much significance on their laundry room, for example, so that's why they're usually stark.
If I were Ruby, I'd add some textured white drapes and white picture frames displaying art that the kids create on the walls. It would still be minimalist, but look more lived in. A good example is how Shawni Eyre, from the 71 toes blog, decorated her daughters rooms.

I went back to the vlogs in question, to refresh my memory on the timeline. I am starting to convince myself that there really could be some Scientology-like blackmail going on here. I wonder if Jodi Hildebrandt learned her lesson from the previous blackmail scheme gone awry, and built a business of "life coaches" completely unqualified to provide therapy, but also not bound by any laws or ethics like she is as a medical professional. The entire ConneXions business is set up so people without any legal responsibility for HIPPA confidentiality or malpractice can pretend to be psychologists and collect all the secrets of the Mormon community. I wonder if the Mormon church is still funding her projects? I hid my Ted Talk under a spoiler so I didn't clutter the thread.rulatows000 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 30, 2020 12:30 pmJesus Christ, that's the woman they had counseling Chad?! Who do you think advised Kevin & Ruby to take Chad's bed away for 7 month? Jodi Hildebrandt or the Hannas? I'm going with the former.Kattiness Everdeen wrote: ↑Sun Aug 30, 2020 6:14 pmI went back to the vlogs in question, to refresh my memory on the timeline. Re: 8 Passengers: No beds, no food, but mom loves motherhood! | Part 18
Wow, this is just crazy. That criminal case against Jodi happened back in 2012 and Ruby and Kevin had to have known about that. Now she's training 'life coaches' who have no credentials and don't have to abide by state laws? I re-watched the Mom's Going Back to School vlog and knowing what I know now, it sounds so awful. All Chad said was, "I'm looking forward to working with you, too". And she went off on a tirade saying that it's bullshit and he doesn't want to work with her or change and that he's never getting his phone back. And what therapist tells you to your face that you're 'messed up'? I also skipped through a lot of their East Coast vlogs and couldn't detect anything awry with Chad. His phone was taken away prior to the trip, so I doubt they could've caught him doing something on the internet, unless he stole an electronic from someone in the family. Still, they went on that trip with Ruby's parents. I really don't see how a kid could manage to do something warranting an emergency therapy session when surrounded by two pairs of adults and all his siblings on a vacation where they were constantly out together, on the road, staying in small hotel rooms, etc. I am kind of wondering if Ruby's parents got involved and maybe made a huge deal about his attitude or something. Then Jodi blew it out of proportion and got him sent away for no reason. I'm really starting to think that Chad didn't do a single thing and had no idea why he was being sent away. From the criminal case it seems the guy went to her for marriage counseling and she warped it around and somehow turned into counseling for pornography addiction, which he didn't have. I wonder if they went to her for Chad's attitude and she completely turned it around into something else. From everything they've said, they act like it was a split second decision and they didn't even have time to process it. Just ran to ship him off ASAP, as if some big bombshell was dropped on them or something made them scared...Josette wrote: ↑Mon Aug 31, 2020 8:15 amWho do you think advised Kevin & Ruby to take Chad's bed away for 7 month? Has anyone seen this video lowes posted with 8 passengers? I'm digusted that they are in a video with lowes which I'm sure they did because the stuff was free from lowes for them. What parent takes care of their housing needs because the basic needs of their own children. Hopefully 8 passengers doesn't get any more sponsorship.

Ruby even said at the time that it was a "reflex decision, like pulling your kid out of traffic". So they obviously didn't put much thought into it (except for getting the deal-- discount for promoting the program)rulatows000 wrote:Wow, this is just crazy. I suspect Chad got caught doing a perfectly normal teenage thing, like masturbating and Jodi convinced Ruby & Kevin that he was some sort of deviant because of that and they sent him away. Mormons are taught that pre-martial sex of any kind, including masturbation, violates their rules about chastity and that it's immoral.rulatows000 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 31, 2020 10:25 amWow, this is just crazy. Not defending them, but the video is from April, 2018 before everything started to implode and Ruby and Kevin were exposed as being toxic parents. I really doubt Lowe's would give them any sponsorships nowadays.boychik0830 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 31, 2020 10:27 am Has anyone seen this video lowes posted with 8 passengers? Oh, I have no doubts they were because I don't believe for a minute that this was something that happened overnight, but if we were unaware of their toxicity, I think it's a fair assumption that Lowe's was too.boychik0830 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 31, 2020 11:30 amI'm sure they were doing stuff back then but we weren't aware of it.Josette wrote:Not defending them, but the video is from April, 2018 before everything started to implode and Ruby and Kevin were exposed as being toxic parents. This makes me feel sick. I mean we already knew this life coach business was a sham and that whoever Chad's therapists/counselors are can hardly be qualified based on what Ruby and Kevin have claimed they've recommended. The fact that Ruby, Kevin, and everyone else in their families have been too stupid not to realize they shouldn't be involved in any of this is shocking and I completely blame the adults involved for the entire thing. Maybe Ruby was taken advantage of but at the end of the day she made the choice to go along with it all, she wasn't in a vulnerable position, she chose this. And she sounds perfectly happy to take advantage of other, actually vulnerable people, because her whole life is a desperate attempt to find purpose and attention.Kattiness Everdeen wrote: ↑Sun Aug 30, 2020 6:14 pmI went back to the vlogs in question, to refresh my memory on the timeline.
You know it is great "school" when the name is misspelled (ConneXions) AND the current students are the ones giving the lessons. Ruby is the perfect parenting coach; CPS told her so during the recent abuse investigation!

What Ruby and Kevin have done to Chad by setting him up with fake therapists who just tell him what a bad kid he is and then sending him to a messed up camp for delinquent kids is going to have ruined him irreparably, he's going to have so much shit to work through for the rest of his life on top of what he and his siblings already have. Again, it is sickening to me that in this giant extended family that they have, not a single adult seems to have the courage to put these two sad excuses of parents in their place and protect the kids. At least for Ruby's side, probably because they're all so dysfunctional they can't even see it. Don't know what the Franke side's excuse is.

That is exactly what I thought, especially when you include removing his bedroom and bathroom doors. I hate to speculate on that, but it's a perfectly normal thing for a teenaged boy to do.Josette wrote:I suspect Chad got caught doing a perfectly normal teenage thing, like masturbating and Jodi convinced Ruby & Kevin that he was some sort of deviant because of that and they sent him away. Mormons are taught that pre-martial sex of any kind, including masturbation, violates their rules about chastity and that it's immoral.rulatows000 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 31, 2020 10:25 amWow, this is just crazy. Just ran to ship him off ASAP, as if some big bombshell was dropped on them or something made them scared...
