Oh dear Lord...her minions....Vanessa posted a picture of her vlogging camera hinting that she's doing a DITL. This girl asked Vanessa what kind of camera is it...you can see the name of the camera right there!

The reason I watch Vanessa and the reason I find her so entertaining is because she's such a poser. Maybe poser isn't the right word. I'm having trouble expressing what I mean. I feel like EVERYTHING she does is for show. You know how some people try to portray themselves as having this Pinterest-like life on Facebook? She's like that but she literally does it day in and day out. The boots, the exercising, the Polaroid camera, the juicing, the cooking tutorials, the trail runs. She's got to be the fakest person I've ever seen. Even Jess eventually dropped the curtain at some point and showed some reality, messy or otherwise. I feel like she's actually a completely different person but she's constantly trying to appear like this fake person so she can look good to YouTube viewers. Who lives like that? I can only assume that she is incredibly self-conscious. I don't even understand how she's engaged to someone who probably has never seen the real Vanessa. I think it's sad that she aspires to be some 2015 version of what amounts to a Pinterest-inspired 50's housewife. I don't know what people are like in her part of the country but most young women I know went to college, had jobs, traveled the world. She went to Peru. That's pretty good. I just don't know why she doesn't want to allow herself to evolve into a fully realized person. I think it's sad and I think it's 100% driven by YouTube. A few years ago, these pregnant teenage youtubers got a little bit of recognition from preteens and Vanessa still hasn't let go. It seems that she is constantly copying or competing with other teen YouTube moms. Tell me if you agree that she would be a completely different person if she never started making/watching teen mom youtubers. The whole thing is SO weird and I think one day she's going to regret it. You can't pretend forever.

On a side note, I think her daughter is adorable and i think she will be just fine in life.

I agree with Doopher. Hit the nail on the head. It's pretty sad. But I don't think all YouTube moms are like that. I only watch a few but I think Britney is pretty real. She can be kinda snobby but that's it. She tells it how it is.

That's a good point, ohgoodness. In the "real life" I see around me, I definitely don't see teen moms trying or even having the luxury of being these 50's style perfect SAHMs. They do not lead "glamorous" lives to aspire to at all. The SAHMs I see that are even somewhat like this are the much older affluent ones with their BMW SUV's and their Lulu Lemon yoga pants. They put their kids in tons of activities so they rarely have them at home, but when they do, they gather in the cul-de-sac and drink their Starbucks and chat. They have houses with swimming pools and husbands who make a lot of money. The teen moms scrape by, living at home, usually as single parents, trying to make ends meet. They have a hard time furthering their educations if they have no support. So definitely two different worlds, although I don't live in the US and wonder if it's different there.

I see both sides as great points. I do feel like Vanessa is extremely fake and a try hard which, makes her very annoying. I think the difference between everyday teen moms and YOUTUBE teen moms is that one is more practical and ideal than the other. These Youtube teen moms are blinded and boosted over their "fame" and consider making videos as a job. This is the only reason why they are able to stay home because they do make income. And because they are so boosted by being watched and having people interested in their (no so exciting, if you think about it) lives, they try hard to hold the image of a perfect life. I do have to say that Britney seems the more relaxed because if she has something she wont act like such a guru and her videos are more about her kids than her. In my opinion, Vanessa is definitly one ft he girls that you can see right through. I watched her since her hospital stay with Lily and you can tell the difference in attitude. A lot of her inspirations to do things come from pleasing people and trying to show a glamorous life. If she didn't have youtube, she would still be miserable with her mom, bitching at David because she's too tired from school/work.

I disagree with the fake-ness thing, I think she's the most real of the youtube moms. They all seem fake, with the editing and photoshop. Britney and Jessica seem the most fake to me.

Exactly, i think the way she acts and speaks is fake. Her AWWWW LILLLY makes me cringe. If you watch her older videos you can see her calling her dude all the time and being impatient with her. She relied on her mom a lot to do a bunch of things for her too. It wasnt until she saw Britney's life and her way of parenting that she tried to emulate considering britney had a lot of praise and had the live V wanted

Tracy is Vanessa's best friend, I believe they went to high school or junior high together. Aidan is Tracy's son. We don't know the deets of her baby daddy tho.

One video she did talking about how she tried to hide that she moved into the same complex as her mom, I liked that Vanessa, she was real!
