They really cant go one debt video without mentioning alcohol, they have a serious problem if they are budgeting $80 (per paycheck?) on alcohol alone.

They don’t seem to understand that what they have left over should be going to pay off debt as fast as possible and not just rolled over to the next month so that they have even more to spend.

This is where I have an issue with their whole debt crisis oh wow as me crap. I have some debt I am working on paying off and one of the first things I cut was eating out and buying starbucks.

For two people who like to claim they don't have an alcohol dependence they sure mention it an awful lot!

I spend maybe $12 a month on alcohol...a bottle of $6 Barefoot wine every other week or so. And I only have around $9k in student loan debt. If I really wanted to buckle down and pay it off, I’d just...stop drinking alcohol altogether and save that money. If I didn’t think they were alcoholics before, I do now.

Agreed. I Probably buy two ten dollar bottles of wine a month. Max. Sometimes I don't buy any alcohol. If I go out with friends add in a few mixed drinks to that.

She has no accountability whatsoever and it is just infuriating. Did she forget that she just admitted to spending 3k+on clothing and other unnecessary junk in one month?
She also said she loves to balance a budget? So why did you spend all of that money last year when you didn't have it?

These two really think they are only going to talk to Dave about the house. Before Dave puts you on the air he will know your income, your car payments, credit card debt, house payment and so much more.

I hope they're completely honest and lay out their whole situation with Dave (although I know they won't). He would rip them a new one if he knew about the after care, restaurants, gymnastics and holidays. They shouldn't be using his name if they're not going to actually follow the baby steps.

100% this. If I were him, I would tell them to stop using my name if they aren't going to really follow my advice. They're using his name to try to get views, but aren't really following his program. I hope he does rip them a new one, and holds their feet to the fire on actually following his advice if they are going to use his name to draw in viewers.
And when I saw some of the comments on their Instagrams, I was gobsmacked. People actually look up to them! There are all these people praising the way they have "changed", and calling them "an inspiration". All they inspire me to do is either turn off the vlog and watch it on invidio so they don't get credit...

Am I watching Dumb and Dumber?

How could they even think about setting aside $80 for alcohol? They don’t understand the concept of budgeting. Any leftover money is supposed to go towards bills or savings.

Katie was spending $900 each time she went to visit a hormone doctor. They didn’t take insurance so she switched locations. Why didn’t the self proclaimed nerd do this earlier? How could she justify this expense? She also had been spending hundreds of dollars every 8 weeks to get her hair done.

If she isn’t feeling well mentally and it is affecting the well being of her, her husband and her kids, why is she drinking alcohol? Any good doctor will tell you if you’re suffering mentally, alcohol should not be consumed. She’s a walking contradiction.

Katie says they have to live like nobody else is living right now so that in a couple of years they can buy birthday presents. Seriously?! Do they really think they have it so bad? Most people don’t happen to have old massage gift cards laying around to use on their birthday. She’s in denial, plain and simple.

I don’t believe for a second that this is the first tax bill they forgot to pay. The more she goes into detail about why something happened, the more you can see her bending and manipulating the truth.

Cullens acts like her child that just flashes money around looking like he’s waiting for her next instruction.

LOL that the amazon gift cards are being put aside as an emergency fund for things like the fish tank.

If one of them or one of their children has any unexpected illness, or is diagnosed with a medical condition, lifelong or not, they are not prepared whatsoever. Anything can happen at any time. They need to be prepared for emergencies.

Why are they using grocery money for pet stuff, household stuff and pull-ups? Each category should be separated and allotted ahead of time. And again, leftover needs to go towards bills or emergency savings.

Katie’s favorite saying..”even though this, we’re doing this..” blah blah blah justifying her lies has become her full time job.

But don’t worry, they are well stocked with alcohol. That will save them.

That should be the first thing to go. It’s easy to give up. Unless you’re dependent on it, that is. I 100% think they both drink every single night at home and if they didn’t, they wouldn’t be able to stand each other.

I'm not buying what they're selling. They are totally LYING about things and they can't keep their stories straight. There is no way they didn't overspend on eating out in February. They didn't go over $37? BULLSHIT!

In a recent video Katie said Cullen just got pho. That's not a "cheap" meal (pho around here it's about $14 before tax and tip). Then they both had kid "date nights" AND got take-out pizzas? Even Little Caesar's isn't all that cheap. I would guess the take-out pizzas were at least $20 for the whole family (not including sides and drinks).

Yeah, they are fibbing a lot in these videos.

OT: Aldi sells their own wine brand and they are really decent and less than $3 a bottle—the new sangria is yummy! But I'm guessing they're HARD drinkers. I LOL'd that they are budgeting more than twice as much for booze than eating out with their kids. They must be chugging vodka in that house!!!

Interesting they aren't going to the beach house for the kids' break. Didn't they always do that?? Other than gas, isn't it a free vacation??

Also, $200 a month for gas? I guess they drive gas-guzzlers, but they work from home!!! I don't think I spend more than $30 a month on gas. Where are they driving?? Are they using the gas station funds to buy snacks inside??

Things just don't add up.

I’m loving this train wreck and I seriously hope DR show screens all calls before putting them on the air with actual info. With how much Katie lies, I’m crossing my fingers she will get all tangled with what she says to DR and he calls her out for it.

Honestly, I would be on something too if Katie were my spouse and controls everything. But at that point, I would see the clear warning signs of emotional and mental abuse and get the hell out!

I doubt very much these two will announce their DR appearance. There will be some problem with audio, wi-fi glitches or simply not selected for his live show. That will be their excuse. In reality, he will rip them apart, tell them how dire their circumstances truly are and insist they get real jobs, sell the SUV and pray someone buys their house.

There is no way they will give him real numbers, they know he will tear them apart. Dave says to every person who calls that you shouldn't even see the inside of a restaurant unless you work there until your debt is paid off. They have admitted to getting pizza a few different times and Cullen got chinese because it was "such a hard week".

I am also super confused why the IRS money they owed didn't come out of the get current money? They said they still owe $2000 of back taxes and wanted to put the leftover money toward that. Then Katie mentioned hating not being able to put it toward the snowball? Hello? All debt should be included in your snowball? They should have just used some of the get current money.

Anyone know how the show actually works? Cullen said to "tune in" today at 1pm CT, so I assumed they'd be on the show live today.

I can't wait for them to be on Dave Ramsey. He won't stand for any of this. I will legitimately take time out of my day to listen to Dave. Some of their comments on the last video said to prepare because dave is "rough."
