Their vlogs are 3 to 4 weeks behind real time so they are probably through with the quarantine period. I wish that vloggers wouldn't vlog so far behind and Ruby is the worst!!CognitiveDissonance wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 1:10 am
Really?!!!!! Shari is going to play in a Volleyball tournament?! She should stay home and 1) Recover from covid and 2) MAYBE NOT RISK EXPOSING PEOPLE?!

I listened to the vlog while I was doing other things and I was surprised how nice Eve sounded. She didn't sound pretentious or manipulative, and she didn't try to act baby and baby talk. I truly hope that Ruby and her homeschooling doesn't ruin the social progress she has been clearly making.

Anybody notice Ruby mentioning "Shari and Chad's private school" when she was talking about the painting? Chad wanted to go to the public school because that's where his friends were, and awhile back it sounded like they were going to let him. Did they back out of that and force him to go to the private school as punishment for not wanting Ruby's homeschooling? He was quite adamant about not going back to the private school, so I can't imagine he chose to go there.

Academically he doesn’t seem to be thriving either. Ruby told him/the viewers he is going to be learning how to do maths this year. He is 9!!!! We know he can read (not sure how well though) but that’s literally the only thing Ruby really pushes on the kids.
Re: 8 Passengers: No beds, no food, but mom loves motherhood! | Part 18
I seriously doubt he's been screened for learning disorders such dyscalculia (math) either. I struggled with math from 3rd grade upwards when growing up and wasn't diagnosed with dyscalculia until I was in my 30s. I could barely do addition and subtraction, but when we started learning multiplication in 3rd grade I was totally lost. I was often called lazy and stupid by my teachers and grew to believe them. Not even a tutor my mom hired when I was 6th grade helped. My high school algebra teacher gave me a pity pass so I'd get the necessary math credit needed to graduate, because she could see I was honestly trying my hardest, but couldn't understand the most basic algebra formula even if she sat by me and went over it step by step. It was like a foreign language to me.alexmorgan wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 10:10 amAcademically he doesn’t seem to be thriving either. My brother is one of those brilliant at math people-- got a perfect score on the physics AP exam and went to CalTech. My parents tried to get him to tutor me because I was flunking 8th grade algebra. He couldn't do it, because he could not fathom why I didn't understand it. It was so second nature to him that it made no sense to him that I couldn't grasp it.
I finally got an A in algebra 2 at a community college when I was trying to get into nursing school, so I don't think I have a diagnosable condition, but math is definitely not easy for everyone!

Even if they are all recovered, I can't believe they'd let her play in the tournament after selfishly exposing her entire team to covid-19. Sounded like she was still going to school and volleyball when Kevin was showing symptoms, getting tested, and when she was waiting for the result of her test. Just very unfair that Chad missed out on most of his football season because he quarantined correctly, but Shari didn't quarantine when people in her family and she herself were showing symptoms or when she was awaiting her test results. She just took off the minimum 10 days and gets to jump right back into it.sheltiefan wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 4:28 amTheir vlogs are 3 to 4 weeks behind real time so they are probably through with the quarantine period. I can’t get over the idiocy of them wanting to test positive for the virus themselves to be on the 10-day rule rather than not have it and be held to the 2-week rule for if a family member has it. Who follows rules so blindly like that? Any normal person would want to recover fully and also make CERTAIN they are not risking exposing it to anybody else, but this family has been preached to to not “live in fear” . Even if you had it, surely you should still be held to the 2-week rule when a family member has it? The immunity thing literally makes no sense. They’re all fools.

I can't believe they are letting Chad have the privilege of driving but not letting him have a cell phone. I bet when he turns 18 he will get in the car and drive away from ruby and Kevin and never come back home again except for maybe the holidays. I think he is one of the smartest children in the family so maybe that is why he gets punished so much. The other kids think the way they are being treated is normal but I think Chad knows better than to think that.

They're letting him drive because that helps Ruby out. If he can ferry his siblings around and run errands, that gives her more time for online shopping and napping.boychik0830 wrote:I can't believe they are letting Chad have the privilege of driving but not letting him have a cell phone. He shouldn't be driving without a phone for emergencies. But I suppose if he prays before he leaves, it'll be fine.

So Ruby let Chad DRIVE to the store, and home, for his FIRST time driving??? Is she insane? Ooops.....stupid question....lol! He should not have been on busy roads seconds after getting his permit!

LOL, Shari's vlog, "I have to go shopping for Homecoming by myself, because everyone else is busy." She happens to call Ruby for advice, and looks like Ruby is laying on the couch.

I get that they did their 10 day quarantine time or whatever, but you would think they would have the common decency to wear a mask at the grocery store just to be safe, especially after their entire family was positive.

It’s wild how much control she holds over chad (cell phone, bedroom, permit, etc) yet in just 2ish years he is supposed to be a full blown adult in their world that means no longer living at your parents house past 18, getting married in a matter of months, and having kids. How do you expect chad to go from this to that in 2 years. Crazy.

I honestly think he is not going to follow their traditions. As someone mentioned above, I truly hope he runs from them at 18 and doesn’t return except for holidays. The way he is being controlled will make the transition hard but I have hope that he will escape that toxic family environment and their traditions.Ckc717 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 10:45 am It’s wild how much control she holds over chad (cell phone, bedroom, permit, etc) yet in just 2ish years he is supposed to be a full blown adult in their world that means no longer living at your parents house past 18, getting married in a matter of months, and having kids. Actually he legally cannot drive the car without an adult licensed driver seated next to him (See link below). Laws are similar where I live too. I honestly hope Chad is aware of this, which he should since he had to study for the test, and refuses to drive unless one of his parents are present because if anything happens there will be hell to pay and he'll be punished because Ruby wanted to break the law purely for her convenience. It wouldn't surprise me that breaking the learner's permit rules could subsequently affect him getting a driver's license too.lmmomSD wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 5:39 amThey're letting him drive because that helps Ruby out. Well, their senator went to a hearing in the Capitol with no mask, because he "felt great".freshbalsam wrote:I get that they did their 10 day quarantine time or whatever, but you would think they would have the common decency to wear a mask at the grocery store just to be safe, especially after their entire family was positive.

Sorry if this has been posted, but this girl on TikTok says she has worked for a company that has worked with Ruby and had this to say.
Here’s the actual TikTok link -
Hope that link works but there isn’t anything extra in the actual TikTok that can’t be seen from the screenshot.
Of course no way to verify if it’s true but I wouldn’t doubt any of it!

I don't know why but YTMD alerts for this thread weren't working. I have a lot to catch up on. Many thanks for posting the Tik Tok content, I am not able to find any of this stuff on my own for some reason. I do have my doubts about that validity of the source on this one though.Elah_w wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 6:55 pm

Why would a random Bollie employee know all about Chad's religious standing with the church or about Ellie's personal finances/motives? Ellie is building another enormous house with a pool, so on the surface, this seems unlikely that it is a true first hand account. Also, why would her sisters be responsible for covering the cost of Ruby's failed business either? She has millions and is spending frivolously on things like hot tubs and mini fridges for "homeschool", she doesn't need her baby sister to sell her house to bail her out.
Ruby also spells it 'Ruby Do', while Saint Jen spells it 'Ruby Dew', I have only seen it spelled 'Ruby Doo' on YTMD, because of our Scooby Doo comparison (and basic phonics). Every time I see 'Ruby Do' I instinctually pronounce it "Ruby-dough" (in a Japanese accent). If someone worked for the business, they should at least know the name.

Those are all great points! This girl is pretty young too, so who knows if she’s just making it up for views. A lot of people do that. But I also don’t put much last Ruby anymoreKattiness Everdeen wrote:I don't know why but YTMD alerts for this thread weren't working. I have a lot to catch up on.
