Girl 100% agree with everything you've said. My kid is just a couple months older than Addie. A few things:
I ALWAYS call the advice nurse prior to taking my kid in, so a) i can figure out if it's needed, and b) they can get me an appointment
When I call the advice line, they always want me to make an appointment. They have told me several times to avoid ERs at ALL costs (obviously, unless it's a legit emergency) because they are giant petri dishes and your kid is almost definitely going to walk out with more diseases than they came in with
Fever is a sign the body is fighting an infection, something they told me the first time my kid was sick. It's only a major concern (meaning - get to the ER NOW) if it's over 104 or if they are under 3 months old. Otherwise they want parents to call
Basically this whole video screamed drama and viewzzz. There is no need she couldn't have minimally called an advice nurse or her doctor before dragging her in to the ER. Especially as it wasn't the middle of the night or a weekend.
