I really do think it is about food stamps eligibility, I just watched the 'I'm leaving video' again and she says

"for the safety of my family I can not have my husband face my children's faces, information about where we live, where we go, anything about our finances, anything about our personal lives, I can't have people knowing it because that information is being used to try to hurt us"

So she pretty much admits that information she has given out publicly about her finances is being used to try to hurt them. Also in her list of 'theories' (which are taken straight from this thread) NOT ONCE does she say a SINGLE WORD about government assistance, food stamps, in fact NOTHING financial AT ALL!! So the ONLY theory she didn't deny was the one about food stamp eligibility, and on top of that she says specially no one can know anything about her finances.

I have seen her get a ton of negative comments on previous videos about the fact they are on food stamps. In one video she did a Sephora unboxing where she opened $200 worth of products, people went nuts, one guy just said, 'you shouldn't be spending $200 at Sephora when you are on food stamps'. Haleigh actually replied saying she just got her cheque from youtube and that's where she got the money and her husband wanted her to have something nice.

Its easy to understand why people are less than impressed with this, she gets $350 worth of food stamp money a month - and she spends a $200 youtube paycheque at Sephora ........ So she earns $200 spends it all on make-up and claims she is so financially hard up she needs $350 a month in free food courtesy of the American tax payer. It doesn't look good

Also, she said CJ would have about $250,000 in student loan debt after chiro school, so how much is he getting now per semester?! Surely it's enough for them to pay for groceries. Especially since she straight up admitted that they had to take out additional loans to pay for their expenses.

ALSO, it is so sad to see her plan to have more children when they are living off of borrowed money. I mean, financial decisions are personal, but she shared their financial situation pretty openly on the internet, so I'm going to critique it. Most people would wait until they were off of student loans and government assistance to have children. Here I am working and saving money to one day have a child, and waiting until we get our financial situation in order before attempting to get pregnant. But she's just sitting back and letting our taxpayer money take care of their family for her. And letting that degree go to waste.

Do you know what I found funny? All of this happened right after her chiropractic video. After her husband outed what city they love in, and instead of cutting it out of the video she says "We aren't supposed to say specifics." Uhhhhh...

She also admitted in one of her baby/ videos that she was giving out her home address so people could SEND HER PRESENTS!

For being a young, poor, college couple, they sure have and buy a lot of expensive things. Compliments of the US government. Brand new cars, organic food, expensive sunglasses, video games, brand new iPhones, etc. And she had said that the apartment they rent costs about $1200/month!

Oh, and they have government funded healthcare.

They took out $250k?!? Chiropractic school in Washington costs $125k. They are living quite well! $41k/year plus whatever she brings in.

I don't know if chiropractic school is different with financial aid, but if neither the student or the spouse is working, he's probably getting a crap ton of "free money" through financial aid. Just for fun, I found this student loan calculator for payoff. For $250k in student loans, with a payoff over 10 years is $2800 a month. Yikes. That's a lot of money to be shelling out each month for 10 years, especially if Haleigh insists on keeping up with her makeup spending lol. And who knows how his chiro practice will do, especially if he insists on opening his own practice completely separate from his dad right after graduating and having Haleigh work for him. Good luck with that.

Pell grants are usually only granted to people working on their undergrads. My husband and I took advantage of Pell grants and it paid for a good chunk of our schooling. But the rest we paid ourselves because we WORKED hard. We both graduated without a single penny in student debt.

My cousin got her ba, master's and PhD without any student loans, as well. How? She worked for it.

That being said, student loans can be a blessing for those who can't pay as they go. But come on, $250k? Then bragging about it? As if being that far in debt proves that you're somehow contributing to society? $250k in student loans. And starting pay as a chiropractor is $50k/year. Good luck ever paying those off.

I hope he is learning about insurance & billing while in school. I worked for a chiropractor in insurance/billing. They get paid a fraction of the actual charge thanks to contractual allowances the insurance companies negotiate.

I had no idea they didn't have financial aid for graduate school. You learn something new everyday. I don't think I would ever tell people I had that much student loan debt, that's just embarrassing. Especially if my spouse had a bachelor's degree AND some sort of certification from beauty school, but just decided not to work. My brother got his bachelor's and master's degree with 0 student loan debt, because he worked all throughout college. He did overnight shifts, weekend, whatever it took so that he didn't need student loans.

Student loans aren't a bad thing. I had to get some this year for school. But I'll only have about $10k in student loans, and the field I'm going into starts at $55-60k a year, so I'm not too worried about paying it off. I just can't imagine having so much debt and not knowing how much I'd make coming out of school (like CJ who plans to open his own practice- that ain't cheap and you're not guaranteed a set amount per month/year)

My dad is a dentist and opened his own practice. It was like, $400,000 and he bought the practice from a retiring dentist so he didn't even need to try and get a patient base. They're tripping if they think they're going to be making bank opening their own practice because you have to pay for the facilities, the equipment, medical record systems, insurance, any additional staff, and more, AND you have to somehow find enough clients to keep your doors open. He would be better off if he just worked for another chiro practice until they paid off their loans and then they could look into opening their own, that way he can build a reputation among clients and they will follow him to his new practice. I don't think they actually know what's required and they don't really have realistic expectations.

I remember her saying on social media -“ We have money, but it’s not enough. We’re saving money for a house. I make money from doing lashes, maskara and I drive kids to school. But we need food stamps for our groceries.” - I’m certain she doesn’t make much. Of course it’s probably not something they can live on, but this money shouldn’t be going towards their dates and her beauty supplies. It should go towards LIVING EXPENSES first. Leftover money should go towards fun. I was so upset with her when she said “You can’t judge us. The government decided we needed this money. Not you.” - Of course they gave you food stamps if you don’t claim your income. On paper they probably make $0.
And I agree that they live so much in the future. They took out all the loans because they know “one day” they will pay them off. She always says “once CJ has his practice, once we live in AZ.” She’s so certain about their life. It’s nice to have plans, but it will take them years to be out of debt. I’m sure she doesn’t work cause they just figured that one day he’ll be making big bucks, so it’s better for them to take out loans and let her stay home. They will take care all of it later.
I also remember her “Trader Joe’s video”, where she was so upset that someone commented on it and said that she doesn’t need organic food and she’s missusing stamps. And she got so upset. So definitely food stamps are a very sensitive topic. And yes, she doesn’t know how to budget. She goes shopping the day the get them and buys food “for the entire month”. Instead of dividing the amount per week/per two weeks.

That's a reasonable amount of financial aid. You'll be making far more money than what is owed. But taking out 4x the amount you'll be making is a bad decision.

Granted, experienced chiros CAN make a decent living. But entry level chiros are lucky if they make $60k for the first 10 years. Not a great family wage when you're factoring lots and lots of debt: cars, house, student loans, credit cards, etc.

Seriously! What food (except canned, dry, or frozen) lasts for a whole month? We have xxx amount of money for the month. Then xxx amount for each week. So we KNOW we won't be scraping at the end of the month. $350 is actually a large grocery budget for 3 people.

And IF anything unexpected comes up that we haven't budgeted for all those luxuries go away. Switch to cheap toiletries, off brand food, home haircuts, etc.

When we were in college, we sure asnheck were not eating organic (We still don't because organic food is BS. It's a marketing ploy) or buying mlm or high products or clothing.
