Phil and Alex: Struggling With Maternity After Laboring For Eternity | Part 10
Re: Phil and Alex: Struggling With Maternity After Laboring For Eternity | Part 10
Since I've been following her story, I've had the idea that Alex might be suffering from Munchhausen syndrome?
Wikipedia: „A self-imposed de facto disorder, also called Munchausen's syndrome, is a de facto disorder in which people fake an illness, suffering or psychological trauma in order to attract attention, compassion or reassurance. Münchhausen syndrome belongs to the subclass of de facto disorder with predominantly physical signs and symptoms, but patients also have a history of recurrent hospital stays, travel, and dramatic, highly unlikely accounts of their past experiences [2]. The disease owes its name to the fictional character Baron Münchhausen. A fictional disorder that is self-inflicted is related to a fictional disorder that refers to the abuse of another person, typically a child, to gain attention or sympathy for the abuser. This attempt to create symptoms for the victim can lead to unnecessary and costly diagnostic or corrective procedures“

Go back a few threads. I have been calling this for months. She’s showing alllllll the warning signs. Even her previous “career” fits for MSbP/FDIA.womble wrote:Since I've been following her story, I've had the idea that Alex might be suffering from Munchhausen syndrome?

Yep, so many inconsistencies. I noticed she first said that she was bummed that there had been no weight gain this week when she was filming in the doctor's office. Then later on once home she claimed she had gained weight, but it wasn't as much as they wanted. So which is it? Seems like a pretty basic thing to communicate. She shared previously that baby was 9 lbs at 2 months, which puts her around the 5th percentile. She's avoiding sharing specifics on weight because she knows she will be called out. I can't believe she was giving that baby "maybe" 2 ounces by breast and letting her sleep to the next feeding for the two days after her tie surgery. There's no way she thinks that's enough and warrants taking out the feeding tube?LucyLucyAppleJuicy wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 1:58 pm
I’m also convinced we are being lied to by Alex, and I believe she’s also lying to Phil. There are already a huge amount of discrepancies in what she says, both on YT and on IG, and the whole ‘lactation consultant’s scale was broken’ is utter bull.

Have a look at NPD, rather than Munchausen's.Elliecat wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 3:11 pmGo back a few threads. I have been calling this for months. She’s showing alllllll the warning signs. Cassidy's sole purpose is to deliver Alex with the experiences she desires and thinks she deserves. If that means that her daughter inadvertently gets emotionally and/or physically harmed through that process, then so be it. So whilst Alex's mental health issues are manifesting in a worsening of Cassidy's medical condition, this medical angle only makes up a tiny component of the damage she causes and the traits she exhibits.

Idk the clinical terms,it just seems to me that Alex is neurotic about having the perfect breastfeeding experience,to the detriment of her baby

That was genuinely chilling. How can Phillip allow this btw? My partner would have called out my bullshit months ago. Enough is enough, that kid is fading away.HashtagBlessed wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 3:29 pm

Also, has anyone else noticed that frequently Cassidy appears to be doing that head butt to mum’s chest thing that BF babies do when they’re starving? And she frequently turns her head/face towards Alex’s body when being held? I’ve got kids, you’re taught that these are hunger cues, yet I’m watching them be ignored.
I hope someone from their cardiology team is watching and noting.
Re: Phil and Alex: Struggling With Maternity After Laboring For Eternity | Part 10
It was so concerning to me how she just casually mentioned the lack of tissues in the babies upper heart… Like it was just one throwaway sentence, or an afterthought… She is literally focusing 100 times more on the breastfeeding aspect of her life at the moment. A child has major cardiac open heart surgery coming up, and she’d rather focus on showing us how much milk she’s pumping and talking about the surgery only in terms of the fact that it will get the child better at breastfeeding.

Crunchy mom Alex uses a microwave????? Isn’t that like cancerous in her eyes?? I mean all of that radiation?
Oh waiting 24 hrs to forgive? Sorry where is that in the Bible PASTOR Phil??? The BIBLE says to not let the sun go down on your wrath.
So cassie didn’t gain... then she gained but not like Alex had hoped. Wasn’t 14 oz what she was gaining before the ng tube?

I'd be weighing baby C after every feeding if I were them, and also putting it on a graph to chart it overall. It's not that hard to do,and it would give them and the dr's a better overall view of how she's doing in terms of weight gain or loss

I'm surprised the Dr waited so long to put C on Lanoxin.I've taken it for atrial tach as well,so I know it slows n strengthens the heart.I thought she would've been put on it at birth

Alex has the opposite of munchausins - pretending her baby is fine when she’s not, avoiding medical care rather than forcing it etc. She shows MANY characteristics of NPD.
Snarking on Alex before was basically good old fashioned bitching lol, but this is a whole different ball game, this is genuine fear/concern for an unwell innocent baby

And more than once! I can see saying it wrong once (hey we’re human) but she kept doing it. Not the first time she’s screwed up a word annnnd she’s a nurse. Ok a normal person can screw it up, a nurse? Pffft no excuse.Veruca_Salt wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 5:08 pm Nurse Alex calling a Holter monitor a Holster monitor

Agreed. It's a dumpster fire waiting to explode. It's like when someone goes on a rampage, and then the neighbours stand out in the street in shock saying things to the media like "who knew, they were so lovely, I can't believe this has happened!". Yet the signs were always there. Everyone could see them. People just choose to ignore it and pretend it is all fine, because in most situations it doesn't go pear shaped. Until it does.In the middle wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 5:45 pm Alex has the opposite of munchausins - pretending her baby is fine when she’s not, avoiding medical care rather than forcing it etc. She shows MANY characteristics of NPD.

Alex is literally recording a NPD 101 video collection for the world to see. Cassidy's health is in REAL danger. Chances are (and I hope) she suffers no long term effects from Alex's actions. But a good outcome in the future doesn't negate the fact that right now, Cassidy's health is being put at risk.

I KNOWWWWWWW, what is up with that? How can she possibly be a nurse? I couldn't believe my ears. What a dummy.IVFwarrior wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 2:51 pm So NICU nurse Alex who thinks she knows everything is talking about how Cassidy had been on a cardiac "Holster" monitor.

Re: Phil and Alex: Struggling With Maternity After Laboring For Eternity | Part 10
I got the weird feeling watching their latest vlog that Alex has been reading here. Some of the things mentioned here were slyly brought up in their vlog like holding Cassidy while feeding her.
I have this feeling that Alex is lying to Phil or at minimum trying to confuse and overwhelm him so that he isn't aware what is truly going on. He thinks she's professional and trusts her input. She clearly uses this to her advantage. After the tongue-tie fix, I got the feeling that she was trying to convince Phil that it worked. She said it did and then she said that you can't tell right away. Which is it? Also with feeding Cassidy, I think she is being confusing on purpose. I don't think Phil truly knows what is best for Cassidy because Alex is messing with him.
Also saying that Cassidy didn't gain weight that week and then suddenly she has gained a little. I think she is playing mind games...

2.5 months old and only getting 21 ounces of milk a day...and that's what she admits to it...it's likely not even that much. I can't imagine why she hasn't gained weight like she should be.... If she doesn't know it's a holter monitor, she must be the worlds dumbest nurse.

Re: Phil and Alex: Struggling With Maternity After Laboring For Eternity | Part 10
I'm really concerned Cassidy will have long term effects from this, if she survives. And I'm worried about Kinsley and Callie too. They're already ignoring Callie's hips, what if something else comes up?
Alex definitely has NPD, but this combined with the crunchy shit is a dangerous combination. I grew up with a crunchy NPD mother. She often denied me medical treatment when I really needed it. Nearly died twice, my poor dad had to fight her to get her to give in and let me go to the hospital. I nearly died from treatable infections because she thought antibiotics were truely evil. One got so bad I am dealing with disability 10 years later. She also forced me to go through painful and expensive alternative therapies that did nothing, and even made things worse occassionally. These things have long-term impacts. Not just physically but psychologically.
The reason my mum never wanted me to have antibiotics, western medical intervention or vaccines was because she thought she knew best (better than all the doctors), and she wouldn't budge. In her mind, giving in and letting me get antibiotics world have symbolised a personal failure to her. She didn't want to look/feel bad for letting me have "toxic" medications, she had this idea that if she could cure me with natural remedies she'd be a saint of a mother. It's a superiority thing.
I see this shit in Alex too, 100%. I'm in therapy now trying to heal from my upbringing. I hope the girls can all access therapy when/if they need it. Even better, I hope Alex can change her ways. Unfortunately, people with NPD rarely change.
