Hello all! I just wanted to say now that things are cleared up please stop referring to the other member's post by re-quoting each other. If you can we'd appreciate it if you carried any further off topic conversation in Private Messages? No one is in trouble we just want to get back on track

What is the quotation tab for then & are other threads to do the same?Mischief wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 12:27 pm Hello all! Respectfully, I’m not sure as to why we would be “in trouble”, as our comments were not off topic, rather on past topics discussed. Ones that were apparently allowed to be posted, but not repeated?
As for getting back on track, the very next post probably would have been about It’s R Life’s cheer competition (without this slap on the hand).

Re: It's R Life - Part 1
Not sure if I’ll get in trouble for quoting this (I thought thats what we were supposed to do?) but, respectfully, I agree with the points Xulie made. We manage fine here; sometimes things happen but they get sorted very quickly because we are all kind and reasonable people who listen to each others issues and move forward together. I don’t want to continue posting if I’m going to be slapped on the hand for rules that are unclear, I didn’t know this rule existed and I apologize for messing up but, respectfully, we’re all adults here and can figure things out together rather quickly and painlessly. Maybe the rules need to be stated more clearly as to what is allowed and what isn’t because I’m very confused about this slap on the hand as well. Maybe I need to step back from here for a bit. I thoroughly enjoy our conversations but I don’t understand what is going on. As Xulie said, surely the next post would’ve been about today’s video had this mod post not happened. I come here for relaxed fun and snark, to get away from my very stressful and difficult real life. Getting “in trouble” definitely takes away from it as I’m very confused on why. You can delete this post if it’s against the rules, that’s fine. If y’all don’t see me posting for a bit, that means I’ve decided to take a break. It’s been fun y’all!Xulie wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 3:18 pmI’m not sure I understand …when you say to stop referring to the other member's post by re-quoting each other. I’m confused as to why you guys are getting “in trouble” for whatever this is but why Willow has not been punished for saying such terrible things? We managed to clear that situation up just fine so I don’t think we need any type of moderator to sort at this tiny bit of confusion. If you wanted to help as a moderator, you should have done something when Willow was causing problems…

Re: It's R Life - Part 1
On Flips Instagram story, they posted a photo of a big group of moms captioned with “we love our cheer moms” (screenshot below). On a scale of 1 to 10, how angry do you think Kendal was when she saw this photo and that she wasn’t in it? It was probably taken of a group of moms hanging out at the competition. She so wants to be part of the cheer mom crowd clique but from what other members on here who live in her community have said, she doesn’t fit in with them; they were allegedly told by “mama Lorie” to be on their best behavior around them but that doesn’t mean that they’ll welcome her into their group which seems to be what she wants the most.
(Faces blurred out of respect for the moms in this photo. I can guarantee since I saw it unblurred that Kendal indeed is not in it)

No one is in trouble as I said there was no need to spam the thread with quotes replying to the same screenshot mentioning another member's past post. The conversation simply needed to move to private message or move on. As far as previous issues I cannot control if it was missed by moderators as I am new. The best way to report any issues though is to report posts for us to review so it can be handled right away!AlohaPineapple wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 4:00 pmThanks for standing up for us Bass! mouthful; the group she wants the most. Ever notice how she is the one who's most excited? What will she ever do, when her kids have their own lives (which they should have now) and it's just her, Daniel & Bones? Throw tons of money at a special needs organization, so she can become a special needs mom mascot?AlohaPineapple wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 6:31 pm that doesn’t mean that they’ll welcome her into their group which seems to be what she wants the most.

Re: It's R Life - Part 1
For the life of me I cannot find results for last weeks competition. However I did find the starting list of registered teams and I don’t see too many DI Y2 teams. (Only flip city). There are other youth 2 teams from different gyms but they are either DII or different size teams. Do all Y2 teams compete against each other or are there loads of different categories and awards?
I cannot stand how Kendal says “we” when referring to the gym or the teams. Kendal needs to realise she’s just a taxi driver, financier and makeup artist in this activity. She’s not a coach nor a cheerleader. Why were Evie and Brinley not sitting with other girls from the gym? We they not allowed because they weren’t competing? I really do not understand protocols in the All Star cheer world. It’s not a big sport in this country.

Re: It's R Life - Part 1
I’m not a cheerleader, just a fan of the sport so I will do my best at answering these questions! Cheerleading is broken up in many different ways. First, D1 gyms are separated from D2 gyms (but D2 have the choice of going into the D1 division). Then it’s broken up by age: tiny, mini, youth, junior, senior, and open. You only compete against your own age decision. Then, within each age class, there’s different levels: tiny has L1, mini has L1-2, youth has L1-5, junior has L1-6, and senior has L1-6. Then they can be broken down further by size: small, medium, large (except senior, it gets more complicated. At small competitions Y2 would compete with all other D1 Y2’s regardless of size and would only compete against D2 gyms if those gyms chose to. Depending on the competition, usually big ones, there can be tons different categories and awards. At smaller competition, it’s not rare for a team to be the only in their category and get an automatic win. I won’t even get into seniors and level 6 (world teams) because it gets super complex.Glass Half Full wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 1:41 am For the life of me I cannot find results for last weeks competition. I suspect that you’re right, that the girls weren’t sitting with Kapri because they aren’t on that team/weren’t competing. Once your team is all together for a team meeting or are heading to the warm up room, it’s just the team and coaches together from then on. If they have time to watch, they do so as a team, I think just to keep track of the whole team. There can be up to 30 kids plus possible alternates so the coaches need to have their eye on them so they won’t lose someone. It’s time when they start prepping and getting their head in the game and other non team members can disturb that.

Re: It's R Life - Part 1
Sorry for the double post but I have thoughts on the last couple vlogs to share!
1. I’m so glad the girls are all on different teams this year. They quite literally spend all their time together so it’s good to have some time away from each other. The age groups they put each girl in is fitting to, keeping them with people their age to make friends their age. They all seem to be improving a lot with flip too.
2. I thought it was quite rude that KD filmed clips of other teams’ routines and put them in the video. Doesn’t she think other gyms probably have that same rule too? It’s a rule many gyms have so be courteous and leave the clips out.
3. Kendal so badly wants to be a teenage performing on the floor. During routines while most parents are clapping and smiling any cheering, Kendal often points at the girls and yells at them telling them what to do as if she was their coach. I’m sure they can’t even hear her or tell what she’s saying. She pays big money to have these coaches teach their kids, let them do their job.
4. On their way to the competition, at around 3:40, Evie and Kapri definitely wearing a seatbelt, it looked like Kendal nor Brinley were but can’t say for sure, and you can tell they were driving. The next clip, they all have them on LOL. I think they’re tired of the seatbelt comments.
4. Evie and Cameron felt so awkward in the clips together. I think it’s probably just because they’re on camera, Cameron definitely wouldn’t be used to being filmed all through time.
5. Cameron and EV’s date was on a weekday so I wonder if Cameron is homeschooled too. He seems like he comes from quite a religious family and they tend to homeschool a lot. In that vein, I wonder if EV & Cam are doing the old fashion religious “courting”? I know it involves dates being chaperoned and seems that they typically don’t call each other bf/gf, just that they’re courting and then get engaged if it works out. KD were fundies (and now they’re like the opposite) but perhaps Cam’s family is or just has a lot of old fashioned religious beliefs? KD want to be those perfect religious people so their daughter “courting” someone probably excites them.
6. Why won’t they let Kapri wear crop tops if they let her out in public in her sports bras and Nike pros? They were having supper at Burgerfy (sp?) and Kapri was still in just her sports bra. I know Kendal has replied to comments about this before that its’s because it’s her cheer practice uniform. But what stops her from throwing on a t-shirt over her sports bra? It’s just so inconsistent of them to not let her have crop tops but can wear her cheer wear anywhere.
Okay I think that about covers it for now

Re: It's R Life - Part 1
Thanks for the explanation. Ok, so as this was a small competition, all the Y2s could have competed against each other (if the D2/D1 teams agreed) OR flip could have had no competition as they were the only D1 Y2 team there. If they had no competition, then winning a medal literally meant nothing to anyone except Kendal.AlohaPineapple wrote: ↑Thu Dec 09, 2021 12:25 amI’m not a cheerleader, just a fan of the sport so I will do my best at answering these questions! Re: It's R Life - Part 1
Yep you got it! All Y2s against each other with D2 gyms having the option to join the D1 competition OR they only completed against themselves. For Kendal, a win is a win. For the gym size divisions, it’s not an all or nothing as to whether they want to enter the D1 division, it’s up to each D2 team to decide, but it seems they usually stick to D2 because many big D1 gyms stack their teams like crazy.Glass Half Full wrote: ↑Thu Dec 09, 2021 5:32 amThanks for the explanation. Actually, reading reviews on FC, they have been accused of many things like cheating but stacking their teams was also a huge issue people complained about. They would take athletes from their level 4 teams and also put them on level 2 so they’re basically guaranteed a win when competing against other teams who have true level 2 athletes. Allegedly, this is how they have so many wins under their belt. The higher level teams like 4+ don’t win but they put those athletes on low level teams who sweep the competition.
I’ll keep my eyes open for results from that competition too because I’m curious as well as to what went down. It’ll be interesting to see how they fare at bigger competitions.

Re: It's R Life - Part 1
So here’s a thought: Kendal says they can’t show the cheer routines because they’re a secret and they don’t want other teams to see. So does this mean when teams go to cheer competitions that other coaches/teams don’t watch or video competitors routines? Unlikely.
Varsity TV is a subscription Internet channel showing all the varsity cheer routines from most of the competitions. The routines are broadcast to the public so there is NOTHING to stop the other teams from watching here.
The reality is: they are not allowed to put the routines on their YT channel because varsity TV owns the broadcasting rights. It has nothing to do with keeping routines a secret.
The routines are out there on the World Wide Web for anyone to see so long as they pay.

Re: It's R Life - Part 1
This is spot on Swiss! Good thought! I completely forgot about the whole varsity thing. Last season, there was a big controversy because there’s this teenage cheerleader who goes to a lot of competitions and showcases to film routines and puts them on YouTube. None of the teams cared, in fact, most liked it because they got to have a good quality video of their performance; he took great quality videos! Varsity tried to have all of his videos taken down through legal action since they “own” the performances but he somehow ended up winning and still films and posts the routines. It does say in FC’s rule handbook…Swiss Miss wrote: ↑Thu Dec 09, 2021 12:33 pm The reality is: they are not allowed to put the routines on their YT channel because varsity TV owns the broadcasting rights. I suspect this is for two reasons: 1) Flip “owns” the performances done at their gym and 2) Varsity “owns” the performances done at their competitions (which is a lot of them), and, like you mentioned, this rule was put in place to force people to pay for Varsity TV if they want to watch. I’m sure that FC has the same rules (point 1 above) out of an abundance of caution so they can’t be sued or blacklisted by varsity since they control everything. All choreography, including cheers, dances, stunts, transitions, tumbling, music selections, editing, etc., are the exclusive property of Flip City and shall not be shown or discussed with others. NO VIDEOS of routines/choreography should be uploaded to any online site or social media platform.
Part of what makes this rule about not posting so odd is the fact that the big famous worlds teams start posting snippets of their routine from the start of the season and, when they do their showcase, everyone sees it because it ends up on YouTube. There is absolutely no way for a gym to keep the routine “a secret” as the Riches believe.
I don’t know that it’s possible but I’d love to see Kap or Brin make it onto a worlds team, even if not a high caliber winning one. I suspect Kendal would be jealous in a way that they made it but EV didn’t. EV doesn’t have enough time left to earn her level 6 skills but Brin and Kap, especially Kap, have the time so, if they really put in the hardwork, they may make it there someday. I know they aren’t the best tumblers from the critiques you have given but they do seem to be learning new skills faster at FC than anywhere else. It would be interesting to see what happens if the younger sisters surpass EV, leaving her behind on her level 3 team.

I know you’re not a cheerleader but you are a fan: is cheerleading really so cut throat like Kendal says it is? I mean, why is it any different to say, gymnastics or swimming. Gymnasts don’t look at other gymnasts and then go change their routines to become more competitive. A gymnast usually performs what she is capable of performing. She (or he) can’t just throw in a new and more difficult skill or combination. This needs to be learned and practiced and only when the skill is ‘competition ready’ does it get put into a routine. How can whole cheer teams mix things up from one week to the next based on how competitive they need to be? Is it an ego thing that makes a coach want to keep a routine a secret? Does a coach actually believe that his/her cheer team is soooo good that competitors want to steal ideas? Or is this actually the case?AlohaPineapple wrote: ↑Thu Dec 09, 2021 7:20 pmThis is spot on Swiss! It has nothing to do with keeping routines a secret.
The routines are out there on the World Wide Web for anyone to see so long as they pay.I suspect this is for two reasons: 1) Flip “owns” the performances done at their gym and 2) Varsity “owns” the performances done at their competitions (which is a lot of them), and, like you mentioned, this rule was put in place to force people to pay for Varsity TV if they want to watch.
