The thing that really sets me off is they are condoning behavior that could turn dangerous in a split second. Why encourage your toddler when he enters a pool without an adult? Its irresponsible and dangerous behavior on the parents part. And also, hes two... i dont care how long hes been in swim lessons, hes not a strong enough swimmer to be in that pool alone, period.
Is that a joke? Oliver can't swim. He can bobble around but ALWAYS needs an adult to pull him to the surface. I've never seen him "swim".

I am coming out of lurkdom to post. I was involved in the swim post that was deleted. I just hit unsubscribe today and I won't be watching any more of their videos. I don't think I qualified as a minion, as I was reading here and watching at the same time. I am relatively new to their videos though and I was enjoying them for the most part, but also not finding them "perfect" parents, etc. Yesterday's video crossed the line big time. It was even more dangerous to see Bryan defending his actions and making these you kids feel like they were right supporting him. Anyhow, I wrote this below and I am sure it will be deleted since it isn't friendly or happy. 8-)

You've lost a subscriber and a viewer after this video. I've noticed all the concerned posts (except possibly one) have been deleted about this video. If you care about your influence among your very young and impressionable viewers here you would delete this video or edit out your irresponsible test. As a fellow parent, I can no longer support your channel.

I will not even comment on the idiocy of yesterday's vlog. There is too much disgust and everything has been said.

One thing I wanted to say, Bryan needs to learn how to brush his teeth properly! Huge pet peeve of mine!! Ha.

Hopefully someone recaps what happens in the vlog today because I'll be leaving to go to work at the same time they're uploading it and I refuse to give them views.

I agreed with you until you defended their actions at the pool. It doesn't matter if he can swim. It doesn't matter that they were in view of him. If they are out of arms reach, they're too far away.

So he's had lessons since he was six months old. So what? He's also got a history of absence seizures. He could have had a seizure under water, and all it takes is one mouthful of water. My father, who has been swimming for 50 years almost drowned this summer because he had a stroke in the pool. If my mother hadn't been RIGHT THERE, I would have buried my father this month.
It's not about skill or swimming experience. NO ONE, toddler or adult, should ever swim alone. They're called "accidents" for a reason. Because they're unpredictable. Even the best swimmers can't control seizures or head injuries.

DailyUnnecessaryPurchases- Part 35

They don't deserve a sponsorship to make $$$ off of as they endanger their son. If this video meant one of them (probably Bryan) had to get out and get a damn job then good thing they decided to be idiots. Maybe not being home all the time would do them good!

What I find even more disturbing about all this is that if something DID happen to Oliver, they wouldn't vlog about it or talk about it, because that prove us correct, and they can't have that.
Ugh. They make me want to hurl. I can't even think about them while I have morning sickness. They make it worse.
And also, my pregnancy is going a lot better. HCG levels have increased rapidly, spotting has stopped. I had an ultra-sound and my little prince or princess is doing wonderfully. :D

I completely disagree that it is going too far to contact brands that they work with. That's how business works. What they did was a reckless, dangerous thing. It's a big deal and companies should know who they associate with.

So fucking creepy. I've seen it done before but the ones I've seen are artistic. This seems like he just got Mimi to take it on the go pro. Lmfao.

Nothing is more funny to me than the lumps needing to have their relationship validated by a bunch of kids. #relationshipgoals. "Yeah, we're totally in love if they keep saying we're goals" Bubz from Bubzbeauty made a video recently about the whole #relationshipgoals thing. She wanted to make it clear that people only put what they want you to see out there and that no relationship is the same so you shouldn't make someone else's you standard. Which is true. Mithy and Bryan barely have adult viewers anymore. That says a lot.

Title: UNDERWATER MATERNITY PHOTOSHOOT
Length: 11:33

Summary:
Vlog opens to Bryan driving to the DMV. He has something about the car he needs changed. Missy is at home relaxing and still having lots of contractions.

Cut to Missy in her bedroom doing her makeup while Ollie runs around in the background. She still says she is continuing to have contractions. It literally feels like her ribs are going to pop open, and NO, says Missy, it's not because she was dehydrated. She says she drinks a lot of water and it's one of her main cravings. She thinks they happen more when she's sitting or laying down.

Ollie comes back in with the tube of buttpaste in his hand and all over his face/in his mouth! LOL. Then he lays in the rocker and watches vlogs on Missy's phone.

Bryan complains about his trip to the DMV. Missy and Mimi head to target. She says that they only have one car because they're letting Mimi, Cassie, Papa and Jimmy need it more than they do. Missy forces Ollie to not nap in the car (who cares?) he's fighting sleep.

Crystal is over, the woman who is taking the maternity photos of Missy. Montage of Missy getting her photos taken. Missy wears a special rovbe that they bought for when Missy has Finley. Bryan stops the montage to say he was verified on twitter. Back to the montage, it's out to the pool to take underwater maternity photos and some of Ollie as well.

Afterwards, Ollie is laying underneath the door of the dishwasher, they said the photos were amazing and beautiful. Missy said she loved it. Ollie sits in Karma's kennel saying goodnight to him. He runs up the stairs to bed. Ollie, in his woody gear, heads off to bed! Missy reminisces about the day and how much fun she had.

Cgl33 wrote:Here is my letter to Maker Studios. Feel free to use it or use parts of it.

I am writing to you as a concerned viewer regarding your representation of the DailyBumps YouTube channel. On September 14, 2015, the DailyBumps uploaded a vlog titled "Counting Contractions" in which Bryan and Missy Lanning "tested" their two year old son Oliver to walk beyond their pool gate and swim in their pool by himself. Their irresponsible parenting must be condemned because unintentional incidents, including drowning, are the leading cause of death among children.
The DailyBumps channel has almost 700,000 subscribers, whom they influence. Bryan and Missy Lanning have defended their actions and deleted critical comments.
I am asking Maker Studios to take a stand for child safety by dropping your association with the DailyBumps YouTube channel and demanding that they delete the vlog.
Oh my god that's ridiculous
Do you really think they are going to take your seriously? Lmfao

So, they didn't address the pool concerns, but I guess it's gone and forgotten off their vlog. I wish I had a delete feature when I screw up as a parent. Poor Ollie. My post about them losing me as a subscriber is still up and I'm a bit surprised. I am wondering also how in the heck all these kids comment during the daytime i.e. school hours.

From the vlog today

Her facing during the underwater stuff made me laugh. I don't know why she didn't relax her face

This image from the vlog really shows how much weight she's put on. How much does she say she did?

GOOD NEWS: we didn't get a ten minute lecture. We didn't get a lecture at all. +1 for Oliver making it through the night (I know, morbid thinking, I was concerned)

Bryan whined about having to go to the DMV, talking at the camera like his audience knows what waiting in line at the DMV is like

Missy just haaaaad to get new maternity clothes for her photoshoot, the vlog makes it look like 95% of the shoot was in the pool. The other 5% showed Missy in her robe (that she'll apparently wear at the hospital, hope that backfires on them ) and where she wasn't suitable to be shown on the vlog, I guess. Ew. Earlier she also talked to us about her contractions, and just the way she was seated and had the camera set I felt like I was watching a confession vlog. She might as well have thrown in a lesson in what contractions are, since most of her audience only know contractions to be a lesson in English class.

Also, the photoshoot was "easy" for miss princess because she "felt like she wasn't doing anything". That's how you should feel all the time, Missy. You don't do shit.
