Long time lurker, new poster here. I ABSOLUTELY hate the 14 and 17, almost 18 year old daughters calling their mum and dad "mommy" and "daddy". Sounds inappropriate, but also makes me wonder whether the girls are under some kind of rule that they are not allowed to call them anything otherwise.... anyways sounds a little odd to me and i cringe every time one of them says it. Not cute.

It gets on my nerves every time they say it, and I have always wondered why they do it. I honestly can't recall if Branson called them Mommy and Daddy or not, it's been so long since he's been in their vlogs, other than Christmas and Mother's Day... does anyone know?

It's a YouTube thing. So have seen kids just about to go off to college call their mom "Mom" and then correct themselves and say "I mean Mommy".
I admit, I called my dad "Daddy" sometimes even as an adult. It was just our relationship. But I didn't always call him that, and if I called him dad, I didn't hesitate, then say "I mean Daddy".
I don't know if YouTube attracts dysfunctional families, or what the deal is. But so many of the kids call their parents mommy and daddy way past when most kids do. On Daily Bumps, Bryan encourages Ollie to call him "dada". He is going to be 6 in July.

Honestly I would think not because Branson was a teenage boy and that would seem weird. (But the girls still have to) I'm curious to see if the younger boys will continue calling them mommy and daddy when they get older. That would be worse then the girls. On another note I always thought that Branson seemed to have less strict rules than the girls, maybe we didn't see it much, but Johnny seems to be a whole lot more strict on Daniell and Allie than he did with Branson.

Ah, I was always curious why he had to delay his mission, was it because he had "pre-marital" sex? Does anyone else know? I always thought it was such a tease/view grabber that they would make him talk about having to delay the mission because of some "sinful" deed that he did without outwardly stating what it was.

Also curious on how you know he was moving schools a lot? Did he get kicked out?? What for??

He said in a video where Allie picked her classes for next year that he got kicked out. Not sure for what though.

I just watched Canyon's birthday vlog... I realize he's just turning 4... but, they really need to teach that child some manners. Johnny reading him the card from one of his presents, and he's not paying any attention and looking past to the pile of presents to Johnny's side. It's rather rude. I have seen better behaved children at their 3rd birthday parties. In my opinion, Canyon acts sometimes, like a feral child.

Also, I agree on the Canyon thing, but it seems to be a trend to just let the youngest raise themselves until the government steps in. Eve Franke on 8 Passengers is 5, held out of school (probably for vlog content), and is a total nightmare that terrorizes everyone, and can't count to 5.

I think it's probably either regular teen/middle school drama... or something to do with her being on YT and something happened from there... because next year she'll be in high school and won't be around that group anymore, most likely.

Yeah, Eve is another one who's out of control... I don't get how these people can let their kids act like that, and film it and show the world... I would be embarrassed. And those kids will be embarrassed when they're older and see these videos of themselves. But, anything for the $$$

i don't really watch them, only when they meet with other youtubers because im interested from prospective. but...what i have seen of them. the parents are extremely abusive mentally, Manipulation, pressuring, and utter hypocrisy. they make their kids feel like everything is their fault and expect way to much of them, yet at the same time strip away their development by in prisoning them in the home and treated them like children by punishing them with threats of taking away something. in a video the other day (the crazy father) was talking about education and basically encouraging the children to not be in school and stay homeschool. normal parents want the opposite, to be in the real world and actually learn how to be independant, but he's brainwashing them with fear of the world by telling them that its a cruel place and kids should not be in school so they don't get bullied. well thats the world and one day its going to happen, its better to be prepared for that and become stronger as a person, then to hide away from the world because you want to avoid socialising. this family is weird and confusing. the mother pretty much obeys her husband and copys the way he talk and acts, she doesn't know how to be herself, that family is a headache and it makes me so lucky that i never had to be raised in such a controlling dictatorship of a family . also on a side note... do you think Daniel is jealous now that chad is with Kelsey? because i remember chad had a flirty thing with daniel before and the father was heavily encouraging it for a fame boost, yet also of course punishing her at the same time for it.

In today's vlog, Canyon... dear Lord how can they not do something about that? Write it off that Ally shouldn't have let him fall asleep, because waking him makes him an angry elf... cause he's cranky, sleepy, and hungry! Uh, no... if that was me acting like that, at 4 years old... my Mom would have dealt with ME, not said something to my sister/s! I can't wait til he's in school and he's in trouble constantly, and Sarah and Johnny are constantly being called in, and they have to take him to therapy for his behavior... because something is obviously not right with him.

And poor Lizzie, I don't really think it was about snuggling Canyon and him not wanting her and wanting Savannah instead... I think she just wanted someone to want to snuggle with her. Sometimes kids just want to be cuddled and snuggled and loved on. Sarah and Johnny only seem to do that with Canyon, and forget that they have other kids who are still young and still need attention. That broke my heart.

They just want the older kids homeschooled so they can babysit and do all the house work. Do these parents do any kind of work besides YouTube?? It was a least good to hear that Julie from 8 passengers was over there kind of recently (don’t know if there’s footage but ruby mentioned it in a vlog). Good to know they got to have a friend over and possibly act like kids for a tiny bit. I’m sure Julie can commiserate with the Yawi family kids how dumb all their parents are.

And I know this sounds weird but do you ever feel like you can just tell someone’s house smells bad... I feel like this house definitely reeks.

I can't remember if they said it on IG or in a YT video... but, they became Mormon when either Daniell or Savannah was a baby... I can't remember which.

I mean they vlog their period talks including where they had Savannah say she had pubic hair - creepy alert, they vlog about dates and if they had a kiss etc, they vlog about naughty kids and they vlog their youngest sitting on the potty at the table while he eats his food.

Can anyone explain to me why Mormons refer to everything as a "date". This family isn't as bad as other vloggers about romantically pairing up young children and allowing boyfriends/girlfriends to see each other, as long as it isn't called "a date" until they are 16. Yet every other event in their lives is. Daddy-daughter dates, Grandma dates, etc. Do they ever have Daddy-son dates, or do adults only "date" female children? Because that isn't creepy....

Why can't they just be going to get Chik-fil-A, or to dinner, or shopping.....why does it have to be a "date" at all?

I love that they open the vlog with a discussion about karma. Then complain that the child they have babied for the last 4 years is now acting like a baby, and ruining their Disney trip. Props for the parents taking turns babysitting him and letting the kids enjoy the park though. I feel like most of these families would make one of the girls do it and force them to tell the camera that they love walking their spoiled brother on a leash, while their parents re-live their childhood at the expense of their daughters. Also proud that we didn't see the rest of the family complaining about the terrible weather. Sleet at Disney sounds like a day-ruining event for most.

Of course Allie feels like a failure because she is 17 and nowhere close to engagement. I wish they would tell her that is normal and acceptable. That some people even go to college and get careers before husband hunting. That if she got married at 18, there is no way her husband would let her go and be a Disney princess, when she could be at home popping out babies and making bread.

Allie played some kiddie video game at the great wolf lodge and won 1000 tickets. I really hope she gave those to the younger kids to spend. But knowing her, she probably traded them in for a plastic princess tiara for herself or something.

Overall if you wouldn't know she's 17, you would guess she's about 14. And by her flowery disney dress sense even less. - But just the way the mormon dating life is laid out in this wierd 2-year-step stair-thread pattern (no intimacy until 16, no unobserved dating until 18, but when 18 hurry up marry and make babies), the pressure for a 17.5yo girl like her must be huge in those regards. From that point of view I can understand her angsty feelings of failure, even when I do not agree at all with her and her silly religion, as I think everybody should go at relationships at their own time.

I wonder where she will be in 2020/2021... already married to a local mormon dork... or just loosely dating and experimenting... - I think we already know the answer.

It’s so weird that they treat her so childlike yet she could be married and pregnant in less than a year, and it would be normal in their religion.
