I think that would've been a much bigger scandal if they didn't have such devoted fans and had an audience that involved more than just preteens and young teens that clearly aren't educated on these subjects. It also helped that they weren't on the side of YouTube that's full of "woke" people and activists. I mean, just look at all the people who called out Kyra during this whole fiasco and they all had butt buddies jumping down their throats. I know because I was one who had to deal with that. Yeah, you're right. Even that family who lost custody of their kids by abusing them in a "prank channel" had an army of fans who defended them.
