Its called not eating a well balanced diet or the correct portions.
Bonnie has a glow about her too. I know that Ellie at least makes passive aggressive jabs at her about her weight, and she has said she feels insecure about her figure. Everyone else in the family is stick thin. Even Beau is skinny. Before Ellie got pregnant, there was a scene where she jumped on Jennifer, and Jennifer was gushing over how thin she was. But the sallow skin, wrinkles, and being so thin you can fit in a toddler swing, just aren't healthy. Bonnie may be "fat" by Griffiths standards, but she looks much healthier than her sisters.

In Ruby's case I'd say the 10+ pregnancies/miscarriages contribute to aging her and potentially shortening her lifespan. A definite link between the serial pregnancy, poor nutrition and just poor management of her health. It definitely goes in line with some genetic studies surrounding the topic that I've read recently. And it looks like Ellie's on the same track, though I've never cared to invest time to watching E+J.

They were so poor when they were growing up they couldn’t afford a bath mat! Of course they were eating poorly. Most people really struggle to change their diets completely as adults even if they know better and have more money and for most of us our comfort foods remain those of our childhood. Their nutrition is bad but could be a lot worse. With Ruby it’s definitely the 10 (9?) pregnancies and whatever her chronic pain/addiction problem was when Julie and Russell were babies on top of the stress of parenting basically alone and not eating nutritious food.
All those pregnancies combined with the bad nutrition would do it. The baby takes what it needs when you're pregnant. I threw up a LOT when I was pregnant with my son. My total weight gain was 12 pounds. He was fine. I just shrank around him, lol. Michelle Duggar has had a lot of pregnancies, but she _ate_ when she was pregnant.

No. All we know was that she was “strung out on pain pills for months”. The insta story in which she mentioned this had circles drawn around parts of her face in a way where it could have either meant that the pain was in her face/head or that the lines in her forehead/grimace were because of the pain.

I am closer to Jennifer's age than Ruby's and I do not even have wrinkles like Ruby does. I don't think I really even have any that you would notice, I am no beauty Queen or have great genes and I sure didn't adhere to good skincare routines like not slathering things on and tanning til I was brown growing up and still not wrinkled like her.

It truly boggles my mind as to why the relatives of all these vloggers babysit the kids while they are off on fancy vacations and never invite their parents to go anywhere.

I wonder how the older kids feel knowing that their parents have now gone on 3 (or four?) international trips together, and they've never even been out of America.

Ruby took her parents to Seattle, Disney, and New Hampshire, and Kevin's are much older so they only went to New Hampshire. Also, most grandparents would probably love to spend a week with their grand-kids and finding a trustworthy long-term babysitter can be very difficult.
