Phil was disgusting in it - he is only ready if it's a boy - I guess that means they will be doing gender selection with the embryos then? (Is that allowed in the US?) How does that and his awful view fit in with the religious BS that they spout on about and like to act all superior with?

Too bad this isn't like a vasectomy,where the spouse has to sign an agreement form,presuming they don't have to for a transfer? Of course,we know Alex will always get her way.
And it isn't like sex,where you know making a baby is possible,at the time.
I guess making the embryos is consent to whenever the female wants to implant them,as long as they're together or married?

I think they are posting vlogs out of order again.
I think this vlog was filmed before the ‘tough day’ one. And I think we can connect the dots, what Philip is struggling with... he doesn’t want another baby yet, but his wife thinks she’s ready for the transfer in a couple of months.
And it also explains her obsession with pumping. So that Cassidy could have BM from the bottle from 8months so she can start the IVF and not feel guilty. This is once again all about Alex.

At my clinic, both spouses have to consent to the embryos that are transferred. If your spouse isn't able to be at the transfer, they make you bring a signed letter from the spouse saying you have their permission to transfer x number of embryos. Each clinic differs though.

Oh my god idk why but this just made me laugh so hard. It really is hard to imagine him actually having sex, but him not having any actual genitalia is hilarious. I'm just imagining a fertility specialist consulting with a couple who are struggling to conceive and then you realise it's because the man looks like a ken doll down there.

I have a feeling they've alienated a lot of their followers with the "I'm only ready if it's a boy" talk. Imagine all the viewers from the infertility community that would give anything to have just one baby, regardless of gender.
And their statement makes no sense anyway. Boys and girls at that age really aren't that different, so I'm not sure what it is about a boy that they think they can handle right now that they couldn't with a girl.
I just truly detest this couple. They are so fake and gross and entitled, and they think it doesn't count against them as long as they smother it in Christian platitudes and preachy sermons.

Sorry for the double post, but we're pretty confident that one of their remaining embryos is KNOWN to be a boy (based on their desire to transfer that embryo first despite being lower quality). So really this whole thing is just a charade, since they've obviously already decided to move forward. Project Prized Male Congelliere Child is in full swing.

Their "only a boy" conversation is severely tone deaf and shows how out of touch with reality they are. It seems like it's coming from a place of pure confidence that they'll be able to have another successful pregnancy now that they've done it once. But let's not forget, Cassidy's embryo was the best of the best out of 10+ embryos (not exactly sure how many total from the two retrievals) that they were able to make over several years. I'm not a doctor, but I would say that their history is a better predictor of how their next attempts will be, rather than the fact that they had one success. But I'm sure that Alex thinks that she everything that she did for that retrieval/transfer is 100% the reason why it worked, rather than it just being a numbers game, so it will be easy to repeat.

Their PGS-normal tested boy embryo from their first cycle is morphologically rated 'poor'. Given that it's been frozen twice already, it's at high risk of not surviving a second thaw.

From personal experience, I can say that it would be really heart breaking to go through months of injections and scans, just to have the transfer cancelled literally at the last second because the embryo disintegrated in the petri dish.

But Phil and Alex would blossom under those circumstances. Months of videos related to grieving and loss, and probably campaigning for money for a new IVF stim cycle which would give them another year of content.

I think maybe they are also setting themselves up to have an excuse not to transfer the girl embryo with Turner Syndrome, in the event the boy embryo fails. "We didn't not transfer that embryo because she has Turner Syndrome, but bc we have 3 girls and are not ready for a 4th at this stage."

Then they'll just return to Tennessee and start a new IVF cycle in Nashville with a newer version of Dr Hatch.

My understanding is that having a preference for a particular sex is a massive turnoff in adoptions. Biological parent/s tend to "hard pass" on these sorts of potential adoptive parents because it suggests they are seeking their fantasy/ideal child, not real love and parenthood. Just like Phil and Alex.
