Cgl33 wrote:As far as spending, don’t forget all of that money for Mimi and Papa’s playground and their fugly pool remodel with the outdoor kitchen. I wonder if their vlogs about those helped them break even. And Bryan must have spent $100k+ easily on his album and the videos. When they spend money, they spend thousands at a time. The new appliances, the furniture that they keep replacing, etc.
And the constant remodel of the house. Bryan said something about how a "house is never finished. It's always a work in progress". That's not true. Most people have an endpoint. They plan the renovation, and want to be _done_ at some point. Except for the Winchester Mystery House and these two.
And what is this "we want to make a big difference" BS? Since when have they cared about anyone outside their family? He said something before about "wanting to make an impact". By doing what? Slime and 3 am "ghost" videos and Missy filming whatever animal she's "obthethed with"? They're not even good parents to the children they have. I sincerely hope that they're not planning on two more.
They need to be saving a lot more than it appears they are if they want to maintain this lifestyle. That pool renovation, the outdoor kitchen, the little appliances (the sound vide cooker, etc) the fish tank and person who maintains it, all the vehicles, the horse, Bryan's music, expensive toys on an almost daily basis, plus the little nickel and dime things like Missy getting her hair and nails done constantly, and all the little mini breaks and eating out, add up fast.

I think Bryan got a little freaked out by whatever he heard at YouTube. We'll see what happens.

I've always thought it were a possibility they'd start up their own network or talent agency for online big shots.... or Bryan would make his way into producing something. He's the brains behind their success - Missy is not going to lift a finger.

Bryan's busy Mama June-in' up the place.

Ahhhh I get you! I was just wondering why you came at me with that when it wasn’t what I was talking about! But I get it and I do agree with you! They could have a hearty retirement fund and prob retire now if they had been wise with their money! It hurts to see them waste this amazing opportunity...
So true. If they had been smart, they could easily be set for a comfortable life. A nice but reasonably-sized house paid off, reliable cars (just 2, not an entire fleet!), college funds for the kids, etc. And they wouldn’t have all the pressure to make these super-epic-amazing clickbaity kids videos that we can all tell they are tired of pumping out. They could live off their savings and continue to make the content they wanted on YouTube (or any other projects they wanted to do, for that matter) and whatever they made from that could just be added income - no pressure to make millions off of it.

DailyMyLittlePony (Part 101)

It’s interesting that all the vloggers seem to be all about mental health these days. I want to believe this is a good thing - they are raising awareness and helping to destigmatize it. But I just wonder how much of it is sincere. Are they truly wanting to speak out about it because they want to do good, or is it just the next trendy topic that is advantageous to promote? It’s hard to take them seriously when we all know how the family vloggers push the same products at the same time, or capitalize on the same life events (miscarriages, pregnancies, new houses, etc.) one after the other.

It’s not that I don’t believe Bryan struggles with anxiety or Cullen is depressed. Just think it’s interesting that they are choosing now to talk about it. I feel anxious just thinking about how Bryan is going to maintain this lifestyle! Is it any wonder he’s struggling? Plus, I can’t imagine it’s very healthy for both spouses to stay home all day every day, not really doing anything all that mentally challenging or useful. Not knocking YouTubers in general, but these people are filming their food and chronicling their grocery shopping...not the most stimulating career. They are bored and stuck in the house together all day - no wonder these underlying mental health issues are surfacing. Their lifestyle sets them up for situational anxiety and depression.

I speculate the plan involves cranking out babies and getting the views off of that, paying off the “property” and setting it up to move Mimi and Papa in.

Nice of Bryan to tweet a happy birthday to one of the biggest minions though. Good for business too!

The way he keeps saying "next 5 years" definitely seems to imply they want to be done in 5 years. I'd be surprised if they have another 5 year shelf life.

I guess since they are self produced it's not like they can just get cancelled, that's on them, but the views are definitely going to decline and they have no real talent that is going to get them picked up in Hollywood. Well.... Maybe Finn because he's adorable.... If he ever learns to talk.

Maybe they should use some of that money to go back to college themselves and learn some useful skills.... Let alone set some aside for the kids.

It seems like Cullen opening up has set off a domino effect. Makes me think that people like E&J and B&M are seeing how something like confessing you have mental health issues opens up a door to new viewers = new money. I don't doubt that Bryan has anxiety issues or that Ellie suffered from PPD, but i do side eye their willingness to be open about it when it took one of their "best friends" basically admitting he was in the lowest point of his life to have them suddenly start talking about it. And lets be honest, they aren't doing it to show some sort of solidarity with Cullen...

Don't get it twisted these people had mental issues BEFORE putting their lives on Youtube. You don't need a degree or even talent to be successful. Just look around. Should Missy go back to school, absolutely. Bryan will be ok without school.

So the Johnson family went to a bbq lunch at Kelsey and Corbin’s. So strange. The Lumps are an ocean away and the two “former assistants “ are getting all chummy. Talk about a blatant I don’t know what. Sure that Corbin is trying to get views from their channel...but just so weird.

Of course they did - I wasn’t trying to imply that they didn’t. Image But, if one is predisposed to a certain illness and doesn’t live the lifestyle necessary to manage it, it’s going to be an issue. It’s no different than a diabetic who doesn’t eat correctly to control their blood sugar or someone with a thyroid problem who doesn’t take their medication. If being on YouTube is causing these people to live a lifestyle that isn’t conducive to managing their existing mental illness, then the illness is going to be exacerbated until changes are made. YouTube doesn’t cause the illness, but it can certainly lead to living a life that leads to situational anxiety and depression. Maybe one step to Bryan, Cullen, or Katie treating these issues is to find a way to have some time out of the house and a job that provides more mental stimulation. Someone who is not prone to mental illness might be fine doing YouTube, but if the job is causing their health to suffer, then maybe it’s time to reevaluate. (I say this all as someone who had to make many career decisions based on an anxiety disorder. It is hard. But living day in and day out with a job that exacerbates a mental illness is just plain exhausting!)

Does anyone know what they can build on their “property”? Can they build another residential home? Put a trailer (like a double wide) on it? Expand their home?

I’d be surprised if they can do any of that — other than expanding their house (the layout of their house drives me bonkers).

I can see them purchasing that house with land thinking, “oh, we can move our family on property no problem!” when in reality they didn’t look into zoning or permits. It took them a while to tear down that illegal garage. Lol

That’s assuming they want to move Mimi or Papa on property — although it sounds like that’s what Missy wants to do ultimately.

Idk about building but i HIGHLY doubt a double wide would be permitted.

They can build a suite in the garage no problem. Or add onto the existing structure.

Or just put an RV in the garage. If Missy wants to move them in, there are definitely options. She’ll make it happen, rules be damned.

I just keep wondering why they even bought that place. The only reason I can think of is it’s a gated community?

They want animals, they want family to be close, etc. Why didn’t they just buy land and build on it?

Knowing them it was probably an impulse purchase. They aren’t exactly “planners” and they probably just bought that place because it was the right price at the right time.

They did do a good job getting a house with a gate. I think that was smart. Now, if they could keep Luna from getting out, that would be good.

True...it was smart, given their situation. But they still don’t watch their kids well enough. Or their pets. The gate can only help so much...they act like everything is a-ok because they’re gated.

Missy: “You won’t even notice we’re gone! We’ll still be posting tons of content while we’re gone.”

Two days now of no vlogs. If you want to take a break, fine, take a break - just *tell people* what you are going to do. People would be fine with it...if they just did what they said they were going to do. I have a strong feeling this is the beginning of the end for them. They are going to piss off the minions and people are going to lose interest. They are playing games and making stupid decisions. Let the train wreck begin.
