This might be long because I've been saving my thoughts.
I watched the two-hour premiere (I think) of Outdaughtered, because people have mentioned the Busbys here. I noticed a few things:
1) the kids are 2 1/2 and still in diapers and cribs.
2) they are often shown in only diapers
These are things we have snarked hard about with the Greedners, but I didn't feel like snarking with the Busbys because they don't seem lazy or neglectful. Danielle is shown surrounded by the kids at a table, all eating. She is busy. The kids have on only diapers, which is practical with five littles. And Danielle admits she doesn't want to put Olivia into a bed (Olivia has started climbing out of her crib) because she needs to know the kids are confined sometimes. That rings so true. Still, they move Olivia and Ava to beds because the writing is on the wall.
The parents both seem involved and busy with the kids, and they show more discipline than the Gardners ever have. That said, they do at times ask the girls to do things and then not follow through, which is confusing for littles. And they are definitely giving mixed messages to Ava and Olivia about getting out of bed. And then Adam scares the kids, really scares them, at Halloween. Deliberately, three or four times so they cry in fear. And that pissed me off. I don't know that I will keep watching them but I thought I'd post here just because of the difference between them and the Gardners.
So many things I've been hard on the Gardners for is because they are so darned lazy and uninvolved with their kids. When parents are working hard and doing their best, I tend so sympathize, as I used to with Ashley and Tyson when they had four babies. No more.
Sorry this is so long! But I liked seeing the quads having fun on their new play equipment. I think that climber will last a while. A little surprised there isn't a soft surface underneath. When my kids were small twenty years ago grass was the softest surface people thought of, but now there are better things. Poor kid who fell, what a jolt.
The teeter totter was a little confusing to me. Does it also spin? If not, they are going to outgrow it in no time.
Last thought---they seem to have watered the grass and saved it, but I didn't see trees on the property line. There were lots of baby trees before. Did they die or were they on a different property line? (Actually I thought they were along two sides of the house). It is hard to keep baby trees alive in a hot summer...
