So this annoys me. In the most recent vlog where they have just bought an ATV she reassures people that they are careful about safety and it's a farm vehicle, rather than a "toy" for the kids but while she is saying it she is filming her father taking two of the kids for rides on it.

Diverting a bit here, but does anyone know what happened to Ashleigh? She last updated almost two months ago and there's been nothing from her since. I know that she's an inconsistent uploader on YouTube and goes on hiatus frequently, but she usually gives some sort of heads-up beforehand, and people are starting to comment on her platforms asking where she is. There's no indication that she's "detoxing" from social media for a month or something, and she's occasionally liked other influencers' posts on IG. There haven't even been any recent IG stories, which she usually put out several times a day. It's especially strange because she seemed to be on a roll with the garden content and was about to leave for Sukkot, which she had planned to vlog about. Have there been any cameos or mentions of her from Angela amongst the critter shenanigans?

Angela's baby talk is awful too, I skip forward as it's so grating and unnecessary. Who's looking after the baby, toddlers and young kids whilst her and CR are so busy Between chores, school and babysitting I'm not sure how those older kids get to be themselves, follow their interests or have friends or hobbies. It's a big burden and they've been worked since they were barely 8 or 9. Her excuse of free range parenting is a bit 'too overwhelmed to parent' and too selfish to see the impact.

Ruby will be 2 next month and she is the 7th kid. Ashleigh went on and on about how one of the main reasons they moved to South Carolina was so they could be foster parents. The family size limit is 8 kids, so they would have room for 1 foster child. Since COVID, the kids have been on government assistance and they became ineligible to foster, but she framed this as a minor setback.

Around that time, she also verified that she wasn't on any birth control other than tracking her cycles. I'm fairly certain that she is pregnant as well because she seems to ghost her social media when she's in the first trimester or so, and she doesn't want to have to explain that now they will be ineligible to foster until one of her kids turn 18. This is also assuming she and Peter will resist the urge to have a 9th for several years. I know they've mentioned before that they want 10-12 kids.

It may have been a minor setback if the pandemic had been guaranteed to be over soon. It was already far-fetched that Peter was supporting a family of nine on a musical instrument salesman's income, so I can't imagine how they're coping now that everything's locking down again. Ashleigh has(/had?) some income from her channel, but now she's MIA. I honestly think Ashleigh's a sweet person with the best of intentions despite her decisions being questionable, but that's not enough to go on if she and Peter are going to make huge decisions while not considering how a simple lack of family planning could upend them.

With as different as Ashleigh and Angela are, one thing that they have in common is that they've each been able to comfortably live in their own reality. They met their supportive spouses super early, had kid after kid with few* issues and whom are all fairly healthy, took a leap into their respective lifestyles with little to fall back on, got by with minimal education...everything's just sort of worked out for them and it's all pie-in-the-sky. Viewers have even begun to ask questions about how they're managing now with their growing families, and the two don't have much of an answer other than their faith and mysterious distant relative's trust fund.

To address the latter, I think it's a good example of how easy it would be for either of their bubbles to burst, particularly Ashleigh's...what would happen if Peter were to go out of commission permanently, in employment or even in mortality? That trust fund is almost certainly not enough to cover 15+ children's education, let alone be a nest egg for even a smaller family to live on indefinitely. Would Ashleigh go to live with her parents or Angela? None of that would be such a problem if it weren't for the sheer number of dependents whose quality of life is at stake. I definitely think that Ashleigh would get a job or at least double down on her content-making to bring home an income, but consider how hard it is for a single mom to get by with just one kid and just as much family support. Hell, something could even happen to Angela that's beyond her control that could turn into a PR nightmare and decimate her income. COVID or not, both Ashleigh and Angela are one disaster away from having their lives implode.

Usually the more boring a family vlog is, the better (because it means there are no stunts or excessive exploitation). I'd also normally think this whole farm animal thing is good for Angela because it would be a more appropriate hobby than continuing to collect more children for the sake of it, but it's beginning to get expensive for her lack of experience. It'd be one thing if she were focusing exclusively on horses or something, but it so obviously reads that she's diving into the hobby at the pace she is for the sake of content. That, and the fact that she's starting to block people and delete comments, suggests to me she's starting to lose touch with what made her successful in the first place.

Just watched the latest vlog, “No one-eyed bunnies...” Glad to know the title was ambiguous clickbait, as I assumed the rabbits got in a fight and one lost an eye. I’m seeing a trend in their farming vlogs taking a dive in views, last I checked, their last five videos had view counts in the 60K range.

I know a lot of us watch family vlogs because we have similar living situations and same-aged children, so I can’t help but be worried about Ivy. I’m starting to think she has significant delays or maybe autism. It seems Angie tries to hide her, she’s only 3 so I doubt she cares about being on camera. She’s never shown playing with Amelia, she stays home or inside when the other kids are out...it’s kind of strange. In the past vlog, she cut the little girls’ hair but said she does not cut Ivy’s. Just a side note, I wonder if Angie outed the twins’ ethnicity, Ivy was actually outside and Angie was calling her “Svetlana”. (I think this was a reference to gymnast Svetlana Khorkina, very well-known to 30-40 something women.)

No, no outing of ethnicity. She called her Svetlana because CR said she looked like a Russian princess. The ballerina “very well known to 30-40 year old women comment” - I just can’t. If all this isn’t hard evidence of Russian ethnicity, I don’t know what is.
