afarmhousefull Part 1
Re: afarmhousefull Part 1
Yeah I test when my period is a day late. My husband had a vasectomy 4 years ago. I still check. Tests are incredibly cheap and I keep them on hand.
As far as three kids after a V, I'm assuming once they got pregnant the first time they just felt it was what God wanted and didn't think they should go have it redone. So now of course they've had 2 more pregnancies after that because they are both fertile. A vasectomy spontaneously growing back definitely happens. It's more likely that her husband didn't stick to the rules after the procedure though. That's the #1 cause of vasectomy "failures." We had strict rules to follow after my husband's and we followed them to a T. No way were we going to have another child.

I really like her and her channel. I love big family stuff- and I like that she's crunchy lite and not too fundie. Not a fundamentalist- just a conservative Christian.
Sometimes she gets on my nerves- but I mostly think it's because I'm a bit jealous. My husband and I have always wanted 7 kids and have had a rough time starting our family (adoption loss and m/c) so I think the part of me that finds her punch able sometimes is the part of me that is jealous it seems like she has it all together.

I think something is up, on her latest Instagram pic, she claims she doesn't remember her due date...

I can't stand the way she smacks her lips. It drives me insane!youngmommy wrote:Yes! I hate it. It almost seems fake, like she actually tries to talk like that. I've also noticed a lot of her kids have speech issues and she has mentioned add and dyslexia! Re: afarmhousefull Part 1
I wonder why they just won't get his vasectomy done again. Ohhhh wait...because God thinks they need that many kids. I can't believe how big her baby belly is at ~20 weeks!
Re: afarmhousefull Part 1
They found out the sex of the baby. Video is up. She announces it at the end along with the name.
Disappointed she found out. I had nearly a dozen ultrasounds because of my health including a level 2 and I looked away so her reasoning wasn't valid to me. Also the whole "we wanted to pray for baby by name" is BS. We prayed for our baby and called her "the baby." God isn't an idiot. He knew who we were talking about. Also, we didn't even have a name until 1 hour after she was born and many people don't. Is she implying people who don't name their babies beforehand don't pray for them? Her life, I know, so it doesn't matter. I'm just annoyed. I was looking forward to videos about experiencing the surprise.

She mentioned in one of the update videos they are getting it done after this one. They know it's time.zipadeedodah wrote:I wonder why they just won't get his vasectomy done again. Ohhhh wait...because God thinks they need that many kids. I can't believe how big her baby belly is at ~20 weeks!

That is the major thing I can't stand about her. That lip smacking drives me insane!!weed wrote:I can't stand the way she smacks her lips. It drives me insane!youngmommy wrote:Yes! I hate it. Re: afarmhousefull Part 1
Weird, I don't even notice the lip smacking and I'm usually pretty sensitive to that stuff. Her FAQ video is outside, and at one point she is telling a couple of her kids to be quiet. I hope it's not because she is trying to make her YouTube video. Sheesh, let them be kids!
I also wish she would have more videos of her kids and doing stuff with them...

Wow I'm jealous of their property. That is a dream of mine to own a bunch of land like that with a river/stream/creek on it. I would love to just let my kids out loose to play like that. And to pick fruit off the many plants/trees whenever we felt like it. That whole video tour made me green with envy! We move so much with the military it's not really an option.
I agree, I wish she would make more videos with her kids in them like DITL's. She has a pretty good handle on the chaos. I'm very interested in their day to day because I always wanted a large family in a home like they have.

They got pretty lucky...her parents live on the same land and, I'm pretty sure it was all their land to begin with and I'm sure I've heard her say before that her dad helped them build that house. It's really a beautiful piece of property.
Re: afarmhousefull Part 1
I've been watching her for a while. I personally couldn't imagine having or wanting 8 kids, but she handles it well and seems to really enjoy the life she and her family have made for themselves. I like that she's also a Christian without being too pushy or crazy about it. Even when it came to the birth control and religion video she offered a balanced and reasonable argument for why she and her husband believe in certain methods and not others. It's not to say they're right or wrong or completely informed or misinformed, but it was a well put together video, not some crazy pro-life rant that was designed to make people feel bad or angry about other choices. Same with their homeschool curriculum, it seems well-balanced and like she really cares about the kids learning a range of information, not just an excuse to shield the kids from any exposure to ideas that may or may not raise questions or fit in with their religious beliefs. For a couple that got married and had kids fairly young, I think she and her husband have done a good job at parenting and creating a good environment for the kids and themselves.
Did anyone watch the videos where she showed their investment property and how they gutted the old, gross home and renovated it? That was interesting and different content than what you usually see on these mommy channels.

They bought the land, and only recently (about a year) did her parents move to that other house which they bought.hmmmmmm wrote:They got pretty lucky...her parents live on the same land and, I'm pretty sure it was all their land to begin with and I'm sure I've heard her say before that her dad helped them build that house. Does it bother anyone else have any recent Instagram post she compared her kids to Satan when they weren't getting along with her? I saw that someone had addressed it, but she quickly deleted the comment.

Re: afarmhousefull Part 1
Eh, it doesn't bother me personally. I got her point- however she wants to phrase it.
I continue to really like her. I liked that she show us her really messy inside of her car because it made me feel like, "I'm not the only one." If anything sometimes watching her makes me insecure because I feel like she has everything together and I don't- so I found that helpful.
My only critique is when she said recently in a vlog that Cypress was *probably* her last baby. It seemed like such a big change from during the pregnancy when she said over and over again it was 100% her last baby. I definitely think she may have more and should just be real with herself that she may want more.
I am all about people choosing their own family size. I do not judge large families that much- especially when they seem as functional and emotionally healthy as hers. With that said, my general rule with big families is once you get to number 7, 8, and 9- you are start to enter "I can't meet everyone's emotional needs properly" territory. Obvious this varies person to person. She may have 10 kids and be a much better mother with much more emotionally stable kids than someone with just 2 who kind of sucks at the mothering thing (or just doesn't care to be thrive at it)- but overall I think once you get to numbers around there- you should be thankful for your blessings and really focus on that amount of kids. I think that's already a lot of babies and the body has already gone through a ton on top of the emotional parts of it.
Just my thoughts! Obviously they have to do what is right for them.
ETA: I do judge families like the Duggars- who clearly have no one on one emotional connection with their kid and rely on a silly buddy system. Having older kids help younger kids with things? No problem. Letting older kids raise younger kids? No way.
