Oh. Okay. So when he said “we’re taking a break from social media today”, what he really meant was “we’re gonna be in the air all day, but may as well make it seem like we’re doing it out of respect so all yoo guise will praise us for how great we are”.julim94 wrote:Missy and Bryan in New York right now and look pretty happy

Yep. People always try to rationalize why Missy is always so stone cold in emotional situations, but maybe she just really just is unfeeling and selfish unless it somehow effects her or her family.Theirmom wrote:Oh. I know people are going to try and defend them by saying “what are they supposed to do, just stay home?” My answer is... yes. How about quietly go to he funeral, or meet with the family afterward. Anything but post a travel vlog for those parents to see. I believe Bryan was truly upset, and don’t think he has the ability to fake that, but if it later comes out that B&M somehow lied about this whole thing, I honestly wouldn’t be surprised. Seems weird they didn’t at least have a pic of the little guy to post along with the vlog.
Re: DailyBumps100ThreadsOfClickbait (Part 100!)
I was thinking it was strange to be off social media today. Wasn’t the video filmed yesterday ( the day before). I would have thought that’s when they would have been too upset and grieving. Now that makes sense that Tuesday they were traveling.Theirmom wrote:Oh. Okay. I’ve had three friends that their children were granted wishes and they knew pretty far in advance. I have a feeling the lannings did know sooner but for whatever reason didn’t go sooner. It’s a very sad situation. I wonder if they’ll attend the funeral.

You just do because you are honoring the child. It’s all about the child. It’s not about their reaction to it. And I personally think that’s what they should have done in the vlog. Acknowledge how upset they are by his loss, but find the strength to sit there and sing for him. He won’t see it, but his parents will. It’s all about the child. It’s not about them.Thegoatsmeow wrote:Very interesting perspective! Many good points too. If I was in their shoes, I'm not sure how I could go see a little boy that's dying without crying. How do you make yourself strong enough?Cgl33 wrote:My honest opinion might be different from others. I’m not hating on them, I’m just making observations. I thought Missy handled the vlog the best. It must be very emotional for Bryan to know that this last kid’s wish was to meet them and have him sing. What a honor. But I liked that Missy reminded people that it’s not about them.
The vlog was very much about their reaction and their sadness. But knowing that the vlog was dedicated to the little boy and this is what the parents would watch, I’m not sure the crying is what was needed, even if that’s the natural reaction. If you notice celebrities or royals who visit children in hospices or through make a wish, they are all smiles for the child and the family. Hopefully this is what they would have done if they met them. Think of all of the characters at Disney who see children who are terminal through make a wish. They smile and make the child’s experience as amazing as possible. I’m not saying Bryan and Missy wouldn’t have done that, I’m just hoping they would have. I hope that make sense
My prayers go out to the child and those who loved him. It’s an unimaginable loss. A friend of mine lost her daughter at 4 to a tragic accident. She did not want people to cry to her, so that’s probably why I am reacting the way I am. She wanted her child’s life to be celebrated. The funeral was beautiful and everyone wore the child’s favorite color. It was a celebration of the child’s life, not the focus of her death.
On another note, it's too bad make a wish couldn't have got ahold of them sooner. I'm not really sure how that process works though.

They’re not even in New York. They’re in Las Vegas at the New York Casino. Looks like they went to CES like they said they might still do in the video.

Bryan just broke my heart and my heart is especially broken for the family of little Henry. This vlog also made me realize that Bryan is probably more sincere most of the time than I thought when he speaks emotionally about other things, a man that has a heart that can break like that over a stranger's child can't be all bad no matter how much they have irked me in the past or probably will in the future. Today I set aside any snark for any of them. This is real life stuff and like someone else said, this is good for their viewers to see not everything is Disney and parties, I realize kids and people alike need a place to escape to that is not every day reality too, a little dash of real life is healthy though.
Re: DailyBumps100ThreadsOfClickbait (Part 100!)
I've said this in the past and I'll say it again, Bryan is obnoxious, loud, and whatever you want, but he's not a bad person. I'm glad that they dedicated an entire video to talk about it and that Bryan wasn't afraid to cry.
I can't really tell about Missy, I know she was affected by it too but I guess she reacted differently. You never know how you'll react when something like that hits you. I always thought that I would be in tears for days after my grandfather's death, and when he died last month, I didn't even shed a tear. It doesn't mean I wasn't affected or I didn't love him. I was just surprised by how I handled my emotions. Yet seeing Bryan in tears made me cry too.
I think it's a good thing to show their viewers (especially the youngest ones) that everything is not always perfect with rainbows and unicorns.

But what I wonder is... the day before they posted the "Heartbroken" vlog, at the end of the kitten surprise vlog, Bryan said something about traveling somewhere super fun tomorrow, and that it was gonna be a cool week. They were not referring to the hospital visit, right? It seems strange that they would describe it as "super fun", and also the fact that the whole week was mentionned as "cool". Therefore, I do wonder if the "Heartbroken" video had happened a couple of days before but was not uploaded until now? I might be wrong, but definitely makes me wonder...

I don’t care that they traveled. It’s part of their job, and unfortunately, work obligations don’t stop when death happens and it’s not an immediate family member.queentee20 wrote:First of all, if you check their social media’s from the day that vlog was filmed they were silent after about 12pm Texas time. Just letting people know HEY NOW THAT YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED RESPECT THAT WE WANT SPACE.
Second, little Henry loved them for a reason. He loved their vlogs, they’re now out in New York doing what that little boy LOVED seeing them doing! And funerals usually don’t happen the very next day... and what if the family doesn’t want them there?! Henry loved them, who knows if the family did. No I don’t expect them to just drop their lives and stay home. They said in the vlog they didn’t know if they were going to go through with their travel plans, they had dropped everything to go to Henry and the outcome was very sad. Plus, it was a traumatizing situation for missy and Bryan too. If they want to go on vacation and grieve or maybe just do something to cheer themselves up I think they damn well have the right to. Not everyone grieves the same way... when my grandpa passed away my parents took my grandma to the beach to relax. It’s normal...
I care that they said their social media “break” was out of respect, when it was really because they were travelling. They LIED to get sympathy credit from fans. It’s Disgusting.

It looks like they had plans to go the CES in Las Vegas for the week. When they got the email, they dropped their plans for the day and were going to see the boy. I assume they intended to be in Vegas the entire week since the convention last all week.melihey wrote:But what I wonder is... the day before they posted the "Heartbroken" vlog, at the end of the kitten surprise vlog, Bryan said something about traveling somewhere super fun tomorrow, and that it was gonna be a cool week. It doesn’t take all day for them to travel to Vegas. It’s like a four hour drive. They didn’t lie.Theirmom wrote:I don’t care that they traveled. So, their “break” from social media was roughly 6-7 hours. OH! Which just magically coincided with the travel prep and the four hours they were travelling, and ended as soon as they got to their destination and started Instagramming themselves at the bar.Lovethesnark wrote:It doesn’t take all day for them to travel to Vegas. K.
Yep.
Totally.
But, sure. It was a selfless, respectful, purposeful break from social media. Not just time they would have been absent anyway. Uh huh. Buying that.

The last time they drove to Vegas, they instagrammed the whole trip. It's pretty standard for them to post while travelling. They like to tease where they're going. Your whole argument that they wouldn't be posting anyway doesn't really apply.

I went back and watched the vlog again and the only time Missy got visibly upset was when she was talking about how she and Bryan have to get through this. She cried bc she was worried she might not feel at peace and know what to do when she walked into the room. She was fighting back a smile and playing with her hair the whole time they were discussing Henry and his family. Something is off with that girl and it doesn't sit well with me. She is 100% self absorbed and was clearly only upset that she and Bryan were going to have to deal with this situation.HelloSweetie wrote:Yep. Missy gets what Missy wants and Missy wanted to go to Vegas, so they went. Social media break my ass.. It will be great to see a fun happy Vegas travel vlog today, RIGHT after one of their biggest fans died! And my dumb ass thought that when they were talking about CES, that it was the hospital or where ever the boy was at, not a fucking convention. OF COURSE Missy had to bring up that they were missing something fun for this. Yeah Missy, it's not your nightmare, i get that, but it could very easily be your nightmare... learn some perspective.
This vlog made me like Bryan more than i ever have, and maybe it means nothing more than he can't control his emotions as well as Missy, but either way it makes him seem 100% more down to earth and relatable than Missy. The man has a heart for others, Missy? I'm not so sure.
Off topic but are the boys going to the convention with them? I thought school started back this week.. i guess we will see Ollie doing his preforming monkey tricks while people take photos of him... that is more important than school...

They don’t always IG when travelling You can’t say someone’s argument doesn’t apply. Seems pretty weird to just HAVE to post about yourself partying at the bar. What happened to the break they were taking? The respectful break ended fairly quickly once the party started. It’s ok for some of us to side-eye that, you don’t have to ((shrugs))Lovethesnark wrote:The last time they drove to Vegas, they instagrammed the whole trip. I agree that the footage may have been days ago. Missy’s hair and makeup are the same from a few days ago. Plus something feels odd about it. No last name for Henry, no picture, no responses or posts from his family or friends anywhere in the comments or social media.....

Re: DailyBumps100ThreadsOfClickbait (Part 100!)
No. They actually rarely spend much time on social media. Missy almost NEVER posts on twitter, and only posts on Instagram in bursts and spouts. It’s not uncommon for Bryan to only be active on Twitter right after the vlog posts, and then not again until after 7pm their time. The EXACT same schedule he kept yesterday.Lovethesnark wrote:The last time they drove to Vegas, they instagrammed the whole trip. It's pretty standard for them to post while travelling. They also don’t generally instagram travel, unless they don’t want to vlog it. In fact, the only time they ever really instagrammed their travel was their last trip to Vegas and the whole fiasco when they missed their flight to Hawaii.
They often go silent on social media without explanation. They just milked this normal absence for sympathy. They didn’t even have to mention that they were “taking a break”. People would have understood their absence. They mentioned it specifically to make people think they were being thoughtful and respectful. It is grandstanding.

Re: DailyBumps100ThreadsOfClickbait (Part 100!)
I got the impression from yesterday's vlog that the sit-down was filmed AFTER they had already learned about Henry's death. Bryan was ugly crying as if someone had already died. As if what they had planned on filming was traveling to see Henry and the visit, but then before they left they found out he died. So they had to come up with some content. I'm not doubting that the emotion was real, but did anyone else get this impression?

How many times have we known where they were going based on that something they posted on social media? I don't think it's weird they kept the boy's information private. I doubt the family wants to be bombarded by DB fans right now. I don't think they would run to social media to comment on the video. They're grieving.HelloSweetie wrote:They don’t always IG when travelling You can’t say someone’s argument doesn’t apply. Seems pretty weird to just HAVE to post about yourself partying at the bar. I don’t get the praise for them. They showed human emotions. That doesn’t change anything about them.
I stand by my feelings that instead of sobbing and talking about their feelings, Bryan should have collected his emotions and sang in the vlog for his family to have. Make it a tribute to the little boy, don’t make it about your pain.
