Re: LoraandLayton PART 2
Yeah, it seemed that way.thegooseiscooked wrote:Haha....in the house tour video, Lora totally didn't know that they were geese not ducks.
If her boys call them ducks, she could just correct them by making sure to call them geese so her boys learn that they're geese...they're old enough that they should be able to tell animals apart.

Regarding the carpet in the dining area.
I have two eating areas in my house, the informal and the formal.
The informal area is a big room which incorporates kitchen, family room and eating. We eat our every day meals there, watch tv, cook, have a computer for homework etc. We have a gas fire place, it's warm and cosy. The furniture is not our best, we don't mind if it gets a bit beaten up. Its where we do most of our living. Our dining room is formal and is carpeted. We use it on a few occasions during the year: birthdays, Easter, Christmas, dinner parties. Yes, food spills. It would get ruined if used every day.
The area Lora is talking about is a formal dining room. She certainly should not be letting her boys eat and do their craft in there.

Re: LoraandLayton PART 2
You're right... she *should not* but she will because she has zero control over those two. She altered the purpose of a kitchen table so she didn't have to supervise their 'play' and could make a mess without her having to worry about what her furniture would look like for guests and in the future. You would think that it would have been just as easy to let them have their own 'kid's table' where they could make a mess and where you could still eat on your nice table without having to see the glitter and feathers from the earlier art project.thegooseiscooked wrote:Regarding the carpet in the dining area.

Re: LoraandLayton PART 2
Well, she's saying they bought the house in the comments on the unpacking video.
There's no way in hell they are the only ones on that house.. I bet they aren't even on it and the in-laws bought it for them, especially bc it's so close to them.

Re: LoraandLayton PART 2
^^^ agree!! They didn't buy that house or one of them would have to sign the closing papers. I live in the same state as her and it's required that both persons are on the title when you are married. My husband and I both had to sign the papers at closing.

Re: LoraandLayton PART 2
^Laytons parents purchased the home for them. Those two have never been responsible for their families financial well being so why would they be responsible for keeping a roof over their heads.
Maybe they were paying the rent on the old home and with Laytons subpar work ethic couldn't afford it anymore, so daddy moved them home and bought them a house with the deal that Layton would have to help him with his business. I wonder if we will see Layton working more now

Re: LoraandLayton PART 2
Fakingit- I think that sounds right. They left an area they loved to move closer to layton's dad. I'm going with this theory: layton's dad bought the house as a foreclosure and got an awesome deal on it and gave it to them. He probably had the money to buy it outright for them. Now Layton "owes" his dad and is required to work at his business (while still being paid), but daddy has a guaranteed employee.

It might be an agreement where his parents bought it but they are paying the mortgage with some rent-to-own deal.

Re: LoraandLayton PART 2
Haha no but she didn't have to say anything. They weren't really asking if she bought or rented.

Re: LoraandLayton PART 2
True...but its Lora, overshare is a must. Especially when she thinks it makes her look good. Purchasing a house is awesome, I would never want to rent and pay someone elses mortgage and build them equity. HOWEVER I really don't think Lora and Layton are the ones forking over the cash for their home.
And I don't even think its terrible that his dad is the one most likely helping them, I don't think theyre setting good examples for their children but there could definitely be worse things. I think they just need to own up to it. Anyone with half a brain knows that Layton NEVER goes to work, he spent the last few months hanging out with Lora and her bff ALL the time, he likely wouldn't even qualify for a mortgage, unless daddy has had him as an employee this whole time.

Re: LoraandLayton PART 2
Hey guys new poster here. Do you remember when they bought their van last year and drove all the way to where Layton's parents live to buy it? I also remember Lora quickly mentioning that they bought the brand new van outright without a loan- that's more than 30 thousand dollars. Sounds like his parents bought their car for them too.

Re: LoraandLayton PART 2
Why on earth would she announce to the internet that she's living off of an inheritance? Geeze, no one keeps anything private anymore.
Re: LoraandLayton PART 2
Does anyone believe that they really bought it? I mean I feel like she would have mentioned SOMETHING about the home buying process if it was true. Especially if she made it a point to tell everyone that they bought their van outright.
Re: LoraandLayton PART 2
I think it's super odd that she blabs this stuff to the internet. "We bought our van outright, yall! )" LOL... I don't understand that. My hubby and I are proud of where we are, because he IS an actual partner in a growing company (you know, one that actually shows up for work everyday bahaha) and he worked his booty off to get us here. However, our finances are private, and that's the way it should be. We don't share that kind of stuff on Facebook.

Re: LoraandLayton PART 2
No she definitely didn't buy it. Like someone mentioned they arrived at 3 in the morning and Layton's dad had the key. It's possible that Layton's dad bought it and they're making the payments and he put it in their name. But it's more likely that his dad bought it for them.
Maybe they have horrible credit so Layton's dad has to buy their houses and cars for them?
