When Vanessa was teaching her Spanish, people here were on her ass because it was "confusing lily and delaying her speech."

Now that she's given it a break and Lily's speech has improved, she's "denying her her culture."'

Im kinda 50/50 on this cz my husband is mexican non spanish speaking so we mostly speak english at home even though im dominican and speak spanish its hard to teach her because all she hears is English but i still try n teach my daughter words. Vanessa sounds like an ass when she speaks spanish but she should at least try and teach her the little bit that she knows
OMG im Dominican too =) and yes, i have to agree. My daughter speaks English, but i talk to her in Spanish. I feel it's better to introduce both languages when they're at this age. Anyways, vanessa can hardly speak English. Jk lol...hopefully lily learns Spanish every time they go to Peru.

Ugh I hate when she speaks Spanish. She sounds like the typical asshole is secondary Spanish class who thinks they know Spanish more than the teacher. Her "accent" is horrid. I don't get why she speaks Spanish in Peru but not at home with her mom.

Lily's speech has improved since she stopped with the Spanish so I think it was for the best.

Couple of things:
I'm playing catch up here so sorry if people feel this has already been covered - I'm a severe asthmatic and would straight up die without my inhalers. They live in my bathroom and I have forgotten to take them home with me from uni (and vice versa) three times since September. (I'm pretty sure the doctors think I have a black market ventolin trade going!) Even just travelling three hours home by car, I forget to pack my life saving medication. Or I'll forget my stomach meds and spend the whole time throwing up. It's not that hard. Maybe I would be better if it were my hypothetical child that needed them but who knows. I don't think it makes V an awful human being, just a normal one. My mum picked my brother up from school and left me behind once. We've all done silly things.

V can barely speak Spanish (or English for that matter) herself so I don't think she's the best one to be teaching it to Lily. Maybe that's something Lily could do with Nona?

I can't believe V went to Peru and has gone to Zara. I can't even...eurgh.

She sounds like me speaking French even after 3 treats of classes...I just can't do the accent.

It really shocks me when Vanessa puts in clips of lily playing and talking. Just the way she acts she seems so far behind for her age... it really shows how little her mother does with her... my youngest son is 21 months and Lily speaks very similar to him...

Idk if it's been discussed but is thst part of her turners?

My niece is 20 months and is much better at communicating than Lily. I wonder if it is something with TS because she is almost 4...I teach kinder and used to teach pre k and she definitely seems behind in communication from my experience

My daughter just turned 2 and she speaks alot more than Lily and alot more clearer. When Lily talks you understand like 2 or 3 words and the rest is gibberish. It's kinda sad because V doesn't take the time to teach her HERSELF, she's relying on preschool to teach her.

Lilys fine motor skills appear to be slightly behind (the way she holds her crayons is by mainstream standards a little delayed) I hope Vanessa and/or the "preschool" is keeping an eye on that. Lily appears to be still in the fist phase (hand touching the paper, motions driven by the shoulder) I'm not saying she should have a tripod grip at 4 (that's not until 5-6) but she does appear to be delayed for a 4 year old in preschool (again only in fine motor skills)

New vlog-

Zara, Zara, zara, zara. Seriously how many times did she say 'Zara' in that 90 second clip?!

She got her dad a wallet. It essentially has a place for his ID and what not, credit cards and what not and opens and what not. You know, like every other wallet in the world. & she can't wait to see his face when she gives it to him ... Or he watches the vlog -_-

They feed lily because of her recent incident. So they know what all ages eating. Because clearly if she fed herself and they ate with her; they'd be too distracted to notice that she wasn't eating. Oh, and because they've been feeding her everyday of her entire life.

Lily is lagging further and further behind in communication. If you compare her to other youtube children roughly her age (Aria in Britney and Baby, Hazzel in Haylee and family, Heidi in join the jacksons, Kyson, Kaden in Jesssfam) you can see obvious delays that appear to be getting worse with time. I suspect when she enters kindergarten she will be over two years delayed in communication, social and emotional development. I honestly don't know if it's the Turners, her premature birth, her home environment? And I don't think a standard preschool curriculum will impact the delay. Still I think she will make through K-12 education if she receives a lot of intensive support at school.

I find myself quoting you a lot but seems we have a bit in common! I speak only English but my husband is hispanic and speaks primarily spanish with his mom/dad and extended fam. We live in North Dakota right now and almost no one here speaks spanish. Since I don't speak spanish, it is just so hard. I've tried picking it up myself since we started dating 8 years ago, but it just hasn't stuck. My daughter is 2 though and able to count to almost ten in spanish. That is about the extent of it right now. I feel bad she doesn't know more. :(
